chapter-643-8
Daka Felera travelled atop a flying type Magic Beast, soon arriving at the heart of the Demon Empire, gazing at the majestic castle that seemed unusual.
'This wasn't here a year ago.' She thought, recalling that the entire area had been barren the last time she had visited the place. But now, there existed a massive castle, reaching a height of eight hundred metres and spanning an area of ten square kilometres; it was also suffused with a terrifying aura, of her father.
She alighted at an open room bereft of walls, kneeling the moment she arrived, "Congratulations, father, for attaining another breakthrough."
"Daka…?" A surprised voice resounded from within the palace, condensing unsurpassable might as there was a mixture of nonchalance and familiarity to it, "You've reached the peak as a Pseudo-Saint already?"
"Yes, father." Daka Felera nodded, "Daughter has been lucky recently to get talented subordinates.""I see, keep up with the good work." The voice resounded, "With children like this, our Empire would soon rule the entire continent."
"Father, there is something I wish to ask." Daka Felera bowed respectfully, expressing her hesitation.
"Come in first." The voice said as Daka Felera made her way through the almost empty palace. There were only a sparse few maids running around to perform the various tasks.
Soon, she arrived at the throne room, seeing a figure calmly seated there in a meditative stance, staring at the scroll hung before him. A body that only reached a height of two metres, short even among Demons. A pair of horns, unassuming in might and copper skin that seemed dull, mouldy even. But, he was the pinnacle being that shook the continent.
Saint of Calamity!
The moment she walked in, the Saint of Calamity stared at her calmly, asking, "It seems you've encountered a setback?"
"I had intended to ambush and kill Zaira." She spoke."Ahh, that terrifyingly talented human child." The Saint of Calamity nodded, "She would one day reach my level. I think the Hemish Empire is planning to coronate her as a Hero to become the banner that everyone can ally under."
He looked at Daka Felera, "Did you succeed?"
"I sent my strongest tamed beast. You know about Gilthru, right?" She asked.
"I've seen him once. He'll become a Pseudo-Saint in the future." The Saint of Calamity nodded, "With him participating, did the mission go well?"
"No, that's where we encountered a setback that caused the mission to fail." Daka Felera shook her head, hesitating for a moment to say, "Based on what he reported, Zaira has a strong bodyguard."
"How strong is he?" The Saint of Calamity asked calmly.
"Grandmaster Elementalist," She said, watching her father frown in response, wondering why a Demon was protecting the human that would eventually be called the Hero. She then dropped the bomb, "And a Principal Arbiter."
Boom!
The moment she uttered, the Saint of Calamity got up with a start before laughing out aloud, staring at the sky as he shouted, "Was it you that revived Arnark, Magister?"
"W-Who?" Daka Felera was surprised as she stared at the sky, failing to notice anyone there. She had heard this name before but wasn't able to recall the information immediately.
But it seemed the other party had no plans to wait until she remembered the details as suddenly, a hooded old man with a cane appeared amidst them at some point in time, calm, as if he had been there in the first place.
A cage formed around the hooded old man like the maws of a prehistoric beast, intending to trap him within.
But, all the hooded old man did was tap the ground with his cane, causing the cage to melt away and form a pool on the ground before vanishing. He then stared at the Saint of Calamity that had conjured a terrifying beast next, blinking as he forced the beast to break down into a pool of mana.
"You can never win against me, child. So, don't even bother resisting." The hooded old man said after a chuckle, "I can wield all the powers of this world, and that includes your power too."
"Tell me…" The Saint of Calamity gritted his teeth, "Why did you revive Arnark? He's not someone that should exist."
"His very existence would destroy the Principal Arbiter and Elementalist professions." The Saint of Calamity stared in anger.
The hooded old man only smiled in response, expressing his interest, "You know, I had to use most of my power to take advantage of the moment you became the first Saint of this world to influence your blessings on Arnark that was born at the same time."
"I had to first time his birth to you becoming a Saint and I also had to use the world's focus on you to harness its strength and tweak the laws to make him break it." The hooded old man said, "It was pretty tough to give him the Elementalist profession."
"Since I went to such lengths to create him, why would I not take action when you killed him?" The hooded old man said as a matter of fact, "So of course, I revived him shortly after."
"Your actions would destroy this world, Magister!" The Saint of Calamity said, noticing that his power was somewhat restricted by the other party, "Zaira is also your doing, right?"
"You guessed it right." The hooded old man, Magister grinned, "The strongest being in this world should have an opponent, right? The nature of all magic worlds is to be balanced. And I'll keep reviving Arnark and Zaira until they become strong enough to face you."
"I'll prevent that from happening." The Saint of Calamity stated solemnly as he harnessed the power of his profession, "No matter what, I'll kill them as many times as it takes."
"I'll see you try." Magister grinned, also interested in what the Saint of Calamity would do next when suddenly, his face morphed in anger, "This damn Immortal bastard took over another world of mine!"
"Dammit!" Grunting in anger, his figure vanished, appearing in the vast cosmos to stare at a world where the mana was slowly evolving into Spiritual Energy instead, "You damn thieving bastard!"
