chapter-662-27
Zaira noticed that the world was indeed perfect for her, surprised at the fact that the Saint of Calamity had conjured one so easily, staring at him, "Just…who are you?"
"The sole Demon Conjurer to ever become a Saint." The Saint of Calamity smirked, "That's who I am."
"Now," He stared at the barrier that he had erected, noticing that it was showing signs of cracking as he clenched the Relic he had created, muttering a spell solemnly, "I hereby offer this to the world's professions."
"Gobble it up!"
Boom!Suddenly, mystical lights emerged in the room, numbering dozens, with each light embodying a profession available in the world.
Zaira stared at the scene in shock, "T-These are…the professions?"
"Yes, unlike the various worlds, the true owners of this world are its various professions. And, the strongest one could become is an Apostle, the Realm above a Saint where they've gained acknowledgement from the profession itself to be its sole representative." The Saint of Calamity said, "And, these professions can constantly grow, evolve, and even increase in number."
"I wish to develop this world to its extreme. That's my only goal." He continued, "For that, I need more Saints to emerge from the other professions and only war drives forth such a development."
The professions stared at the Relic as suddenly, all the mysterious lights flowed into the Relic, causing it to swirl with them before vanishing, devoured by them. The lights returned to their original positions before retreating into the ground to vanish.
Gong!
There was a subtle fluctuation as the power Zaira had inserted into the Relic was assimilated by the world, causing it to shift from Magister's control, becoming an independent world, autonomous in nature, completely controlled by its various professions.…
"Aaargh!" Magister shouted in pain as he stared at the cavity that formed in his chest, "M-My most prized world…has been stolen!"
"This is bad." Mystique stated solemnly, "They're taking action sooner than I expected. We need to react immediately."
"I'll bring us there," Immortal said as he grabbed hold of everyone, pierced through space, and appeared before the world in question, staring at its energy that was still mana but was sentient now, having a mind of its own.
And, its inherent nature was to reject all foreign influences.
"What the heck…has happened?" Mystique frowned, sensing the changes as he said, "The mana of this world has absorbed the traits of Mental Energy and now has thoughts of its own. Even we cannot enter it carelessly, otherwise, the backlash might affect our worlds. And at worst, we might be corrupted by this sentient mana that might seek to gain control over us."
Whether it was Mystique, Magister, Immortal, or Martial, they were all representatives of the worlds forming their genre. Meaning, they weren't actual physical beings.
So, if there was a change in one of the worlds under them, their bodies experience the ripple effect caused by the change. And depending on the impact of the world where the change happened, they were accordingly affected.
Hence, if this sentient mana were to infect them, it might induce the energies of the worlds under them to turn strangely sentient too. This would mean that a second personality would be birthed in their bodies, resulting in chaos.
It was a known fact that for any vehicle, having two or more steering wheels was the perfect recipe for disaster.
Hence, they couldn't casually saunter into the world to solve this issue. For a moment, all four peak beings remained helpless, caught unawares.
…
"How is it?" The Saint of Calamity smiled.
"A-A-Amazing!" Zaira said, almost drunk as she felt the Mental Energy streams flowing into her from various races. The quality was vastly superior as compared to before, at least a hundred times more effective.
It was the best tonic a mental being could ask for. When even she was being like this, it needn't be said for the rest that were lying sprawled on the ground, knocked out drunk from the sensation.
"You'll be able to create as many…Golden Fingers as you can, right?" He asked next.
"It depends on the thoughts I accumulate. If I accumulate enough of a certain variety of thoughts, I can club them to birth another mental being." Zaira nodded, saying immediately after, "But with the quality of Mental Energy that I'm receiving now, I'll be able to create more of us soon."
"When you do, pick suitable individuals to place them within the minds of." The Saint of Calamity said, "You needn't limit yourself to the Demons alone. Pick any race that fancies you. I want everyone to develop. In return, those mental beings too would grow."
"Yes, I'm grateful…" Zaira hadn't even finished speaking when suddenly, a metal sword pierced through the place, cutting off an arm of her, with the impact splattering the six Golden Fingers into meat paste.
"What?" Zaira stared in shock to see Arnark hovering in the air, in pain as his eyes were red while veins popped all over his body, spurting out blood from time to time.
Ignoring her severed hand, Zaira's eyes shone with starlight as she noticed a heavenly being forcefully turning into a Metal Spirit that had established a contract with Arnark by taking advantage of his Principal Arbiter powers.
'So, Arnark was your failsafe against me, Magister?' Zaira stared in surprise as Arnark condensed another sword, sending it flying her way when suddenly, it froze into ice, stopping for a moment before disintegrating into moisture.
The starlight in her eyes shone brighter as all six Golden Fingers appeared in her mind space, alive, but helpless since they didn't have a body anymore.
They could only stare helplessly as Zaira fought with all her might, unleashing a myriad of abilities. But, the Metal Elemental Spirit contracted to Arnark, and controlling his actions forcefully was something created by Magister and amplified by Mystique, Immortal, and Martial.
Having traces of their powers allowed Arnark to condense myriad swords using which he erected a sword formation, causing them to fall on Zaira like hail, destroying the entire palace as the Saint of Calamity's body was destroyed as a result.
Though, it only seemed to be a conjured body as the Saint of Calamity wasn't there from the start.
"Shit!" Zaira stared at Arnark in anger before clenching her hand into a fist, unleashing torrential flames that slammed into the opponent's wall of swords, deflected easily.
