After a while, Gu Ren’s deep voice sounded from the walkie talkie: “Stand there, I will come to you.”

Ye Zhi: “Okay.”

Ye Zh held the walkie-talkie and waited on the spot as they agreed.

Gu Ren walked forward slowly. He had a good memory and was able to see the entire route clearly in his mind. He covered almost two-third of the space very quickly.

Gu Ren stopped walking, when he was standing on the edge of the unexplored area of the maze. Since he had no map of this place, he had to explore and find the correct path by trial and error.

He began to walk slowly with great attention. The path was especially twisted. Wherever he went, he ran into a foam wall.

However, Gu Ren was feeling calm. He kept walking slowly and finally stopped at some point. He had no idea where he was right now.

What Gu Ren and Ye Zhi didn’t know was they were only separated by a foam wall. Gu Ren stood on one side of the wall, while Ye Zhi stood on the other side.

On opposite sides of the black foam wall, Gu Ren and Ye Zhi stood with their backs facing each other.

This area without a map seemed to divide the whole maze into two separate zones

Ye Zhi stood in silence. She picked up the walkie talkie and put it to her ear.

But no sound came from walkie talkie for a long time. There was nothing else other than silence.

Ye Zhi was blindfolded. With her vision obscured, time and space seemed to have come to standstill.

She didn’t know how much time had passed or where Gu Ren was right now. Haunted by the darkness, even time seemed to have stopped.

Ye Zhi suddenly whispered: “Gu Ren, I am here.”

As they practiced at home, as long as he heard her voice, he would walk towards her without hesitation.

Soon, Ye Zhi spoke again. This time, her voice sounded a little stronger and louder: “Gu Ren, I am here.”

Ye Zhi’s voice drifted towards the tall foam wall and reached Gu Ren’s ears.

Gu Ren slowly turned around, raised his hand to touch the direction of the sound. The feeling from his palm told him that there was a foam wall in front of him.

And Ye Zhi’s voice came from behind the wall.

Gu Ren suddenly smiled. It turned out that she was near him. Gu Ren immediately strode away and followed Ye Zhi’s voice.

Ye Zhi shouted a few more times and then stopped talking. At this moment, she suddenly heard some noises. At first the sound was very quiet and vague, but it began to become clear with time.

In the silence, Ye Zhi seemed to hear the sound of shoes lightly stepping on the ground. Footsteps were neither fast nor slow.

For Ye Zhi, it was as if the beautiful tone filled the silence of the night.

Ye Zhi’s heart moved.

Is it Gu Ren?

Ye Zhi continued to listen carefully. The sound of footsteps seemed to be getting closer and closer to her.

However, the sound of footsteps stopped abruptly and the surroundings became completely silent as if no sound was ever there.

Ye Zhi thought that she had heard wrong. She felt that It was just an illusion. She was a little disappointed. She was just about to start speaking again.

“Gu Ren, I am…”

At this time, a familiar voice broke through the silence. It felt as if winter had come to an end, and spring had just appeared from around the corner.

“I’m coming.”

Ye Zhi recognized Gu Ren’s voice and smiled softly.

Even though Gu Ren was blindfolded and couldn’t see Ye Zhi’s face, he could still imagine Ye Zhi’s delicate face and familiar outline.
