I Might Be A Fake Cultivator

chapter-171
Just like that, An Lin and Su Qianyun strolled through the Green Wood Imperial Palace side by side.
Green Wood Imperial Palace was extremely large. Not only were there magnificent palaces, but there were also picturesque hills, beautiful lakes, and seas of flowers.
One had to admit, the scenery in this imperial palace was absolutely stunning.
The two of them wandered about freely and enjoyed themselves to their heart’s content.
Apart from An Lin attracting some surprised glances, nothing major happened.“Up ahead is our imperial palace’s Number Six Research Center. Do you want to have a look?” Su Qianyun asked as she pointed toward a white jade building.
“Research center? Is the research related to science and cultivation?” An Lin’s eyes lit up.
“M-hm, that’s right,” Su Qianyun smiled and said. “That’s where Professor Yang, the great scientist of our royal family, conducts his research. There are heaps of interesting things inside!”
As she spoke, two dimples appeared on her delicate face, making her appear even cuter and more adorable.
“Let’s go and have a look!” Hearing her reply, An Lin’s interest was instantly piqued.
He was extremely curious about the integration of science and cultivation, and he had a great urge to explore such matters.
Pushing open the metallic door, what greeted him was a plethora of strange and novel mechanical devices. Moreover, there were also numerous types of formation disks suspended in the air. He was overwhelmed by the myriad of objects laid out before of him.“Wow… So many treasures!” Seeing all the metallic trinkets laying around, stars twinkled in An Lin’s eyes.
“Haha! Treasures indeed!” A middle-aged man chuckled as he walked over. He wore a pair of glasses and had stubble on his cheeks. His hair was messy and disheveled.
An Lin was momentarily dazed when he saw this male. This was the first time he had seen someone wearing glasses in the Kingdom of the Nine States.
Ah, no. Earth Immortal Yue Ying had also worn them before. However, she only wore them as decoration.
“He’s Professor Yang, the great scientist of our Green Wood Imperial Family,” Su Qianyun said as she introduced the man.
An Lin nodded respectfully. “Hi, I’m An Lin, Su Qianyun’s classmate.”
As Professor Yang adjusted his glasses, rays of intelligence refracted from its lenses. A strange smile spread across his face. “Princess Yun Le, this seems to be the first time that you’ve wandered around with a male. Your relation with him seems fairly good~”
“An Lin is my classmate! I-I’m just trying to be a good host!” Su Qianyun was easily flustered by other people’s comments. After being teased a little, her pretty face flushed bright red.
Professor Yang waved his hands. “I couldn’t care less about such matters. In any case, it’s fine as long as Celestial Maiden Chang’e doesn’t get angry. That’s right, why did you guys come here?”
“Um, I brought Student An Lin here to check out the high-tech cultivation technology.” Su Qianyun composed herself after the change of topic and explained why they were there.
Professor Yang stroked his chin. “Is that so. Some of these things are dangerous if you move them around. I’ll give you guys a tour and introduce some of the gadgets here.”
Su Qianyun was delighted. “That’s great! Thank you, Professor Yang!”
Professor Yang showed An Lin and Su Qianyun all types of mechanical contraptions.
There were machines for flight, such as steel wings and the more portable cloud shoes and hoverboards.
Although these were not as versatile or agile as kinesis flight performed by Spirit Nurturing Stage cultivators, they were still very useful. They could draw out the vital energy of Dao Body Stage cultivators and allow them to soar into the skies.
To cultivators of the Dao Body Stages who craved flight, this was definitely a divine invention.
However, these machines were very costly to produce. Thus, they were currently only used by some of the special task forces.
Afterward, the professor showed them all types of everyday appliances. There were beads which could control temperature and humidity, and there were white cotton buds which could purify filth…
Then, there were weapons which integrated technology and cultivation.
Normal weapons such as handguns could compress and store the vital energy of cultivators. When desired, they could then fire a cannonball of extreme penetrative ability.
There were also more advanced weapons, such as swords which could gather the power of thunder and lightning. Moreover, there were various types of magic tools. Some could gather the power of wind, while others could form spell formations from light and create a deadly web of light…
One had to admit, if these inventions could be mass-produced, they would definitely increase the power of cultivators by quite a significant amount.
When they reached the end of the research center, An Lin saw a humongous figure.
Countless tubes snaked about and linked together, and blue symbols flashed upon its finely made components. A chilly aura slowly radiated from this figure, and its gigantic pitch-black cannon was pointed towards the sky. The way it stood was as if it wanted to destroy the heavens.
“What’s this?” An Lin was in awe as he pointed at the gigantic machine.
Professor Yang smiled mysteriously. “This is classified information, so excuse me if I can’t explain.”
An Lin nodded and continued following behind Professor Yang.
“Next, allow me to introduce to you my newest invention, Super Steely Puppet!”
Professor Yang stopped before a black metal box. Upon opening the box, a brilliant white light burst out.
An Lin’s eyes widened in surprise as a metallic humanoid puppet appeared before him. More precisely, this was a human-sized Gundam!
The metallic gloss, the ice-cold cannon, the sharp blade, and the central energy tank… Apart from being a little ugly, all this was extremely familiar…
“The defensive capability of this puppet is extremely high. Even cultivators of the Soul Formation Stage won’t be able to rip through its metallic skin. It also has all the weapons one could wish for—ion cannons, vital energy cannons, five-element cannons… It even has a superalloy sword! I dare say that if this can be mass-produced, our imperial family will definitely stand at the pinnacle of the Nine Imperials!” As Professor Yang adjusted his glasses, an expression of triumph and confidence etched on his face.
Su Qianyun stood to the side, smiling sweetly. She had seen this Super Steely Puppet before, and it was indeed very powerful.
This Super Steely Puppet was not a secret amongst the imperial families, nor was it a secret amongst the top-tier immortal sects of the Purple Star State.
Quite the contrary. The Green Wood Imperial Family had purposefully leaked this secret in order to have it act as a deterrence. Anyhow, the immortal sects would not be able to replicate this puppet even if they knew of its existence.
“What do you think, An Lin? I’m not trying to brag, but there’s definitely no better mechanical puppet in the world! This Super Steely Puppet is the embodiment of perfection!” Professor Yang looked toward An Lin, eager to see the expression of surprise and admiration on his face.
However, An Lin’s reaction had Professor Yang greatly disappointed. An Lin had a strange expression on his face as he looked towards the Super Steely Puppet.
Just as a feeling of displeasure swept over Professor Yang, An Lin replied, “That um… I also have a mechanical puppet. Do you want to see it?”
“What did you say?! You also have one?” Professor Yang’s expression suddenly changed.
Then, he reminded himself that An Lin was probably going to fish out a chicken puppet covered in iron sheets. “Why don’t you show me?” he chuckled dismissively. “Perhaps I can help you make it better.”
An Lin nodded. Then, he took out the humanoid Gundam he snatched from the Number 88 Purple Star Research Institute and placed it on the floor.
This Gundam glowed with a metallic white sheen, and its entire figure was smooth and sleek. Moreover, it radiated a faint aura, as if it were a life of its own.
The dismissive look in Professor Yang’s eyes was gradually replaced by a dazed look. Even his breathing became quick and labored.
Exuding a golden glow, his hands trembled as they caressed the white Gundam. “Alloy metal construction,” he said in a shaky voice, “perfect… Array formation harmony, perfect… Mechanical coordination, perfect… Weapons, unknown…”
Just like that, Professor Yang admitted defeat.
Compared to An Lin’s mechanical puppet, his Super Steely Puppet appeared even more inferior than a chicken puppet… It was absolute trash!!!
