I Might Be A Fake Cultivator

chapter-304
All four of them were extremely satisfied with the glorious feast and sat down to watch TV afterward.
An Lin quickly began to lose interest in all the TV programs. All the shows were essentially dominated by a bunch of talentless actors who were only able to forge careers with their looks.
What was the point of watching TV if it was just for the looks?
He was even more handsome than the male actors on screen. If he wanted to see a handsome man, he’d just look into the mirror!
If he wanted to see a beautiful woman, there was a stunningly gorgeous one sitting right beside him, and she was an awesome singer to boot. With that in mind, An Lin completely lost interest in watching TV.
Thus, he pulled out his phone and opened his Arena of Valor game.
“Little loli, I’ll play you in Arena of Valor!” An Lin picked up his phone and proposed eagerly.
Tian Lingling glared at him from the corner of her eyes. “Why do you suddenly want to play that game?”
“Because I want to wreck you! Fight me one on one!” An Lin replied.
“Hehe, you think you can goad me like this?” Tian Lingling laughed scornfully.
“What, you don’t dare to accept my challenge?”“Alright… you’ve successfully infuriated me, time to die, noob!”
Tian Lingling glared at An Lin and accepted his challenge.
An intense battle commenced.
Tian Lingling was soon completely vanquished, utterly destroyed, fully rekt…
She was dumbfounded.
“What the f*ck! When did you get so strong?!
“Impossible, this is impossible…”
She was a veteran in this game; her game sense and control were both top-notch. But she was vanquished again and again by An Lin and never even came close to victory.
Staring at the pitiful statistics, Tian Lingling was on the brink of collapse.
“Hehe, I can wreck you easily.” An Lin smiled triumphantly.
Tian Lingling would never know just what kind of freak An Lin had regularly battled in the past two years.
Adversity and hardships really were the foundation for improvement.
His epic 1v1 skills had been honed from countless battles with the young sorceress.
Although An Lin was still no match for the legendary Liu Qianhuan, it was still good to be able to destroy someone else for a change.
“Fake Daoist Priest, everyone in the group chat is discussing the events at Changbai Mountain, is this related to your mission somehow?” Tian Lingling had completely given up on playing and tucked her petite legs under her on the couch as she looked the group chat dejectedly.
An Lin was slightly taken aback by her words and immediately logged in to his WeChat account.
The group chat was once again erupting with commotion.
Bei Han the Enlightened: “There has been a mass outbreak of zombies in the Changbai Mountain, an extremely rare treasure has most likely appeared in the area. Either that or a set of ruins is about to open up.”
The Savior: “We can’t pass up this opportunity, who wants to form a group with me to explore Changbai Mountain?!”
Green River Sword Immortal: “Count me in, my longsword is thirsting for action.”
Dreamy Voice Fairy: “+1”
Enlightened Lazurite: “+1”
Golden Jade: “+1”
White Spirit Snake: “I want to go too, can I come?”
…
An Lin stared at the messages on his screen, at a loss for words.
The abnormal outbreak of zombies was most likely caused by the imminent opening of the Shou Yang Tomb, but only ten people would be granted entry.
There were eight people from his university and two people from the mortal world that were selected, so there was no way anyone else aside from those ten could be granted entry. However, An Lin could not disclose this information. After all, he had signed a non-disclosure agreement prohibiting him from disclosing information regarding the tomb to the cultivators on Earth.
Even Tian Lingling was only aware that he had a mission on Changbai Mountain, but she didn’t know the rest of the details.
An Lin stroked his chin in deep thought. He was a little curious about which two cultivators had received the remaining two berths from the mortal world.
Apparently, the two chosen cultivators would be decided by a department in the Heavenly Court that specially dealt with matters in the mortal world. Once the decision was made, those two cultivators would contact An Lin of their own accord as An Lin was the designated team leader after all.
He had not been contacted by anyone yet, so did that mean the two cultivators had not been decided?
There was a restriction that only cultivators under Soul Formation Stage cultivation base could enter the tomb.
The remaining two candidates would be chosen based on aptitude and not necessarily based on whoever had the highest cultivation base. Thus, all prodigious cultivators in the mortal world had a chance.
And basically, all the prodigious cultivators in the mortal world were gathered in the “All Cultivators of the World Unite Together to Protect Earth” group chat.
An Lin opened the list of group members and flicked through it with interest.
Green River Sword Immortal? He had pretty good aptitude and only took two years to progress from Spirit Nurturing Initial Stage to Spirit Nurturing Intermediate Stage; his rate of progression alone was even faster than the vast majority of students in The United University of Cultivation.
What about Red Fox Celestial Maiden? Apparently, she possessed a spirit body from birth, allowing her to adopt human form without having to cultivate. She was the top prodigy of the fox tribe and also had a decent chance of being chosen.
There was also the technological madman, The Savior, radar expert Zhang Wen, talisman prodigy Chen Jingtian…
An Lin scanned through the names in the group and couldn’t help but be surprised at how many prodigious cultivators there were in the mortal world.
Right at this moment, Tian Lingling’s phone began to ring with an unknown caller ID.
She picked up the phone in confusion.
“Hello.
“What?!”
Tian Lingling lifted her head up from Dongfang Xue’s shoulder and sprang up like a jack in the box.
An Lin looked over at her with curiosity as her expressions shifted like a spectacular slide show.
“Yes…
“I’m not scared, I’ll go!
“That’s OK, I’m with him right now.
“Alright, I’ll send you the address…”
Tian Lingling ended the call and looked toward An Lin with a peculiar expression.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” An Lin blinked with curiosity.
Tian Lingling pursed her petite lips and spat out two words with much difficulty, “Team leader.”
“Ha?” An Lin’s eyes widened.
A thought then suddenly occurred to him as his pupils contracted drastically. “Holy f*ck! You got the spot!”
Tian Lingling nodded. “Yep…”
Dongfang Xue looked at them in confusion. “What are you guys talking about?”
“It’s a secret!” both of them yelled at once.
They were then taken aback by their identical responses.
An Lin scratched his head awkwardly while Tian Lingling pursed her lips and directed her gaze elsewhere.
Dongfang Xue: “…”
Right at this moment, An Lin’s phone began to ring.
He whipped out his phone and answered the call. “Hello.”
An elated screech sounded from the other side, “Kyaa! The Poison Lord has answered my call! I’m so happy!”
An Lin grimaced as he held the phone away from his ears. Who the hell was this? Could this be a harassment call from some retarded superfan?
“Ahem… Who are you and what business do you have?”
He decided not to cut off the call after a moment of consideration in case the caller actually had something useful to say.
“Haha, I’m the White Spirit Snake from the group chat! Do you remember me?”
“Waaaaah… I’ve already tried to add you as a friend, but it never went through. Didn’t you see my friend request?”
An Lin rolled his eyes. She couldn’t contact him on WeChat so now she resorted to a harassment call?
Sigh, fame can be a double-edged sword.
“Alright, I’ll remember to add you as a friend, I’m hanging up now.” He didn’t want to waste any more words with her and decided to hang up.
“No, wait! Senior Poison Lord! I’m also a candidate that was chosen to enter the Shou Yang Tomb, can you brief me on the arrangements?” a panicked voice sounded from the other side.
An Lin’s hands trembled slightly as he faltered. “Holy f*ck! You’re the last person?”
