An Lin continued to march onward.

He soon saw a speck of bright light flashing in the distance.

The ground around him was covered in dead grass with not even a single hint of vitality, all of the grass was flattened onto the ground like charcoal.

After getting closer to the speck of red light, he discovered that it was a blood-jade coffin, and it was exactly this coffin that was absorbing all the vitality from the purple grass.

An Lin stared at the coffin with a hesitant expression.

Could this coffin be an extremely rare treasure? He couldn’t be sure. This coffin might well be an object that some mighty figure had placed here to carry out some sort of mysterious ceremony. If there were an extremely powerful being lying inside it, then he would be screwed upon opening the coffin.

After a momentary pause, his storage ring flashed, and two Gundams appeared before him.

“Go open that coffin to see what’s inside!”

The meat-shield functions of these two Gundams were really useful in times like these!

The two Gundams flew toward the red coffin at An Lin’s behest.

Boom!

They were suddenly struck by an extremely fearsome force when they were still a hundred meters away from the coffin.

Pillars of red light instantly struck the two Gundams, and even their robust alloy shells caved in under the tremendous impact as they flew back like a pair of cannonballs for several hundred meters through the air.

Thankfully, they were both quite durable, and they got up after tumbling along the ground a few times.

“Hue? There’s a spell formation there? That’s really well hidden; I can’t even detect it from such close range.”

An Lin exclaimed in bewilderment before his eyes turned snowy white as he assessed the area around the coffin.

A series of extremely complex veined patterns appeared before his eyes to form a small but extremely complex spell formation. This spell formation would be next to impossible for a normal cultivator to break through.

It was too bad that An Lin had the Divine Inspection Technique.

The Realm-Piercing Nail appeared before whizzing toward a certain spot in the air.

Boom!

The air around the coffin trembled violently as the spell formation was completely vanquished.

The two Gundams took this opportunity to pounce on the red coffin again.

They placed their hands on the lid of the coffin to try and lift it up, only to find that they were unable to do so.

An Lin: “Useless!”

He discovered that the two Gundams were becoming less and less useful as his own power increased. They were useless in fights, and now they couldn’t even lift up a coffin lid. Should he just make them his personal cheerleaders next time?

Just as he was thinking about this, the lid on the blood-jade coffin suddenly exploded into the air.

An Lin was given a huge fright when a black shadow leaped out from the coffin with blinding speed. A set of sharp teeth then suddenly flashed toward one of the Gundams!

Crack!

The black figure bit down on the Gundam’s neck, only for a tooth to detach itself and fly through the air after biting down on the alloy material.

An Lin could see a resentful expression appear on the face of the attacker, which was framed by long, golden hair.

The two Gundams didn’t even have a chance to counterattack before the black shadow retreated into the coffin.

Boom!

The coffin lid crashed down from the sky to seal the coffin shut.

Silence resumed as if the coffin had never even opened…

An Lin: “…”

“What a poor guy. Losing an eye tooth 1

is nothing short of a tragedy.” Xue Zhantian also had a pair of eye teeth, so he was very sympathetic toward the person in the coffin who had just lost a tooth.

An Lin massaged his brows. “Those aren’t eye teeth, those are vampire teeth!”

An Lin could basically confirm that this was no treasure. This was the sleeping quarters of a Blood Tribe mighty figure!

However, the mighty figure seemed a little weak. The two Gundams did have extremely robust shells, but the person in the coffin still shouldn’t have lost a tooth from that… Besides, it was easy to tell from the appearance of the Gundams that they wouldn’t make good prey. What was the point of biting them? To suck some engine oil?

Was this mighty figure mentally disabled?

Absorbing life-force energy… coffin… weak combat prowess… impaired cognitive functions…

An Lin immediately compiled all this information to invent a backstory for the person in the coffin.

Perhaps this was a certain Blood Tribe mighty figure who had been severely injured and was lying in the coffin to facilitate recovery by drawing on the life force of the purple grassland.

Right! That must be the case!

An Lin’s eyes lit up as he stared at the blood-jade coffin with a scorching expression.

Against enemies, it was always best to strike them when they were down.

He had nothing to fear from an enemy who couldn’t even bite through the defenses of the two Gundams. Besides, he was the mighty Poison Lord whose blood was kryptonite to the Blood Tribe! An Lin felt like he had this in the bag.

The two Gundams continued to try and lift the coffin lid, but it wouldn’t come loose no matter how hard they tried.

They then tried using light swords, laser blasts, Dark Purple Dragon Flames, as well as a host of other attacks on the coffin, but it remained completely unscathed, as if it were an indestructible fortress.

An Lin sneered coldly. “You think I can’t do anything if you retreat into your shell?”

He began to spring into action as he slowly approached the blood-jade coffin.

The coffin glowed with a bright red light, and it was clear that the absorption of life-force energy was still ongoing.

The blood jade was semi-transparent, so An Lin could see into the coffin itself, and he was greeted by the sight of a curvaceous woman with golden hair in a black robe. She currently had both eyes closed and appeared to be in a peaceful slumber, as if she were a sleeping beauty.

“Hehe… let me rouse you from your slumber, sleeping beauty…” A wicked smile appeared on An Lin’s face as he stroked the cold surface of the coffin.

Xue Zhantian’s body trembled upon seeing this. He suddenly felt as if his master was an antagonistic character!

An Lin hesitated momentarily, before deciding to start with some normal methods first.

He placed his hands on either side of the coffin lid to try and lift it, only to find that the coffin lid seemed to have fused as one with the rest of the coffin, which was in turn fused together with the ground below. The coffin wouldn’t budge in the slightest even after he used all his strength to try and pry the lid open.

An Lin pulled out his Evil-Slaying Sword before slashing a monstrous black sword projection down onto the coffin.

The extremely sharp sword projection struck the blood-jade coffin, and the power of the sword projection left a massive fissure in the ground of over a kilometer in length.

An Lin’s hands trembled uncontrollably from the impact, but only a tiny little crack had been cut into the coffin, which closed over within a few seconds to return to its original state.

“Great Holy Flame, Demonic Star Flame, Heavenly Void Flame, Setting Moon Flame, burn this coffin!”

The four Divine Flames engulfed the entire blood-jade coffin before roasting it under overwhelming temperatures.

“Hehe… How does the steamer coffin feel?” An Lin let loose a sinister chuckle.

The golden-haired woman in the coffin finally opened her eyes before turning to An Lin with no hint of expression in her crimson eyes.

A liquid-like ripple suddenly appeared on the surface of the blood-jade coffin, as if it was resisting the power of the Divine Flames.

An Lin was greatly encouraged upon seeing this. The sleeping beauty woke up, and she was resisting the power of the Divine Flames. That meant his mode of attack was working, so he immediately stoked the flames even further!
