Chapter 94: Completion
Noah lowered her face and hurried through the crowd. Immediately, she squeezed herself, along with Muell, into the elevator heading upstairs. The elevator guide was still nowhere to be seen, so she had to close the door by herself.
She glanced at the buttons beside the door and the silver button with the number ‘one’ engraved on it was still there.
“First floor? Isn’t the first floor where the engine is?”
A middle-aged man on board grumbled irritably and reached out to the buttons. “You can go down there yourself, tsk.”“Wait, wait!” Noah grabbed the man’s wrist without thinking. The man, who was about to press the button, looked back at her, frowning. “What is it?”
“I, I… My kid’s sick. I can’t wait to go back to my room. Can we go to the fifth floor first?”
“Lady looks sicker than the kid.”
“Yes, yes, I am.” It doesn’t matter who’s sick, so let’s go upstairs! Noah slammed the button for the fourth floor and then winked at Muell, who was carried in her arms. The child, who was faking his tears, understood her signal, and blinked. Then, he didn’t cry anymore.
Noah stared at the silver button, curious whether it was functional. Squinting at it, she pushed the button, and gray smoke rose from it. The elevator then chimed, indicating they had reached the floor. Noah opened the door wide as fast as she could.
“Wait a minute, lady. I think I’ve seen your face somewhere.”
“You’re mistaken, sir!”The man tilted his head as he called her, but then shrugged it off. Fortunately, first-class rooms had fewer agitated people than the second-class.
Room 409. Lenia’s room was in the left corridor. Noah was running at full speed without slowing down, almost flashing past Lenia’s room. Muell, who ran after her, caught up almost immediately, and pulled the hem of her pajamas.
“Ugh…”
“Noah, here!”
“Oh, yes!”
She managed to stop, and then hugged Muell. She glanced around, her hand rested on the doorknob. I’m sure she said she’d leave the room door open at dawn…
However, as she twisted the knob, it didn’t turn. I’m sure she said she’d keep it open.
“This damn Lenia…” She took the shapeshifting key from her pocket once again and thrust it into the keyhole. The door flung open at the desperation of Park Noah.
“Who, who, who is it?”
As soon as the door opened, something flashed past Noah narrowly. Realizing it was a sharp knife that nearly cut her nose, something snapped within her. Perhaps it was the last string of rationality.
“Hey.” She slammed the door shut and approached Lenia, who was white as a ghost, profanities rushing out of her lips. “You damn thing. If you promised to keep the door open, isn’t it the right thing to do?”
“I, lady… Well, the ship suddenly stopped, so I thought you failed…”
Only
“Who said you can treat people dead as you please?” Noah wasn’t remotely apologetic to Lenia. She was already in a terrible situation, and she exploded in irritation. She drew her face close to Lenia, who was trembling at her aggressiveness.
“If you want to bring the egg, don’t touch it and deliver it properly. I don’t know what you were thinking about that you brought it to me, but I’ve already imprinted with Mu, so I don’t need a reason anymore! I’m on the verge of losing my breath right now, so I’m going to break the resonance!”
“Yes, what?” Lenia asked, bewildered. However, Noah did not have any strength to spare. Muell, who was in my arms, stretched out his small arm.
The same magic that Noah witnessed when she imprinted with Muell began to spin around her wrist, flashing different colors. Lennia exclaimed in astonishment. “No way, is the child a dragon?”
“What did you expect, a lizard? Just give me your hand.”
She flipped Lenia’s wrist and saw a blurry pattern. It was less intricate than the mark on her wrist, but it was about the same shape. Lenia Valtalere was indeed the first person to imprint with the dragon.
A string of different colors connected Muell and Lenia. Then, it was broken. Lenia, who was clueless to what transpired, only blinked blankly. On the other hand, Mu wore a joyful look on his face.
Noah stopped breathing for a moment under the enormous pressure flowing within her body. The resonance between Lenia and Muell was completely broken, and the imprint between Noah and Muell was finally completed.
