<Author’s Notes>
I didn’t have much time, so today’s chapter is short.
After talking with Ristia-san and Nia-san for a bit, I resumed my greeting rounds and was moving on, when I suddenly spotted a certain person standing by the wall.
She was dressed in a jet-black dress with a wide back opening due to the wings on her back, standing there with a glass of wine in her hand…… Yes, it was Amel-san.
As usual, she’s dressed entirely in black, but since she looks good in them, she actually comes across as quite stylish.At a quick glance, it looks like she’s quietly enjoying a glass of wine in solitude……. but that’s probably not the case…… This is just my hunch, but I think she’s probably thinking something along the lines of “That’s strange, I’m talking to them quite a bit, but the conversation doesn’t last long.”
How should I say this…… It’s like her outward appearance and the person she is inside is different. No, I suppose it’s more like how people around have different impressions of Rosemary-san, but she’s actually different inside. Well, there’s a considerably large difference between Amel-san and Rosemary-san.
Rosemary-san has a fear of strangers and is timid, and when she meets someone for the first time or with whom she’s not very familiar, her facial expression stiffens and she becomes nervous and unable to speak, which often makes her misunderstood and avoided by others.
On the other hand, Amel-san is quite sociable, and she often makes a proactive effort to approach people. In fact, she had approached me at the Harmonic Symphony’s afterparty, and when we ran a stall together, she often talked to customers.
However, Amel’s chuunibyou-like way of speaking can be unintelligible, which makes it difficult for others to understand her intentions, resulting in her being perceived as someone difficult to communicate with.
In fact, just like Lilia-san, even Chris-san, the Emperor of Archlesia Empire where the Wingeds live, also thinks Amel-san is difficult to communicate with, and although she tries to talk with Amel-san, she finds it difficult to continue the conversation.
And so, even at this party, she probably actively engaged in conversations with others, but despite that, the conversation didn’t last long, leaving her sipping on her drink alone.I headed towards Amel-san with such a thought in mind, and a little while later, she noticed me approaching……. and a radiant smile quickly appeared on her face…… a smile that showed her genuine delight to see me.
I might just be seeing things, but I kinda felt like I’m seeing some sort of phantom Pomeranian behind Amel-san.
[My sworn friend!]
[Hello, Amel-san. Thank you for coming today.]
[Hmph, I would fly to the ends of the earth if it’s the invitation of my sworn friend. A dazzling banquet it is, shining like a starry sky, and the gathered stars are fierce, somehow also evoking an atmosphere reminiscent of the Sabbath.]
[Ahh~~ I suppose there are many people here that even Amel-san would feel afraid of?]
[Unn, meeting the Six Kings does make me nervous. Of course, I’ve already met them a few times, but I’m not that close with them, so I’m kinda anx…… Hrnn!? Well, I too am one who bears the burden of my tribe, so I can’t approach them with a half-hearted attitude.]
It’s just like Amel-san for her true self to occasionally show up, and just like usual, she’s got the charming cuteness that never fails to bring a smile to my lips.
