I’ll Be The Warrior’s Mother

The carriage was traveling at high speed down an unpaved road.
As a result of this, the rattling inside was very severe.
Incan spoke to Yelena, who had fixed her gaze on the carriage window after making the excuse of having motion sickness.
“Please hold on for a little longer, Your Grace. We can slow down once we’re out of the duchy, and things should get a little more comfortable then.
Yelena remained silentHer head was currently preoccupied.
‘How could this have happened?’
As far as she knew, Incan should currently be held captive at the Viscount Marezon’s capital estate.
She had heard that, while there, he would be focussing on recovering from his injuries, and once recovered he would be exiled to their country estate.
‘So why is he here?’
Did he escape all on his own?
Have his injuries fully recovered?Does Viscount Marezon know about this?
Yelena’s face hardened.
At the very least, she felt that she could discount the idea that Viscount Marezon knew and approved of this.
Unless he was insane, there was no way that he would allow his son, who he had already decided to abandon, to kidnap a Duchess.
Fine then. Yelena was currently being kidnapped by Incan.
She had no idea where the carriage was traveling to.
Pursing her lips, Yelena continued staring out the window.
‘This crazy bastard.’
She could never have imagined that she would really reunite with Incan in such a way.
How could she have anticipated something as crazy as this?
A frown on her face, Yelena suddenly turned to look at Incan as something came to mind.
“Hold on. If that’s the case, then the letters that I’ve been receiving for a while now…”
“Letters?”
“…never mind.”
After checking Incan’s expression for deceit, Yelena turned her sight back to the window.
In a situation like this, there would be no reason for Incan to feign ignorance if he was responsible.
So for now, Yelena discarded any thought of the anonymous letters from her head.
The carriage continued rolling without a pause.
The view outside the window
While pretending to smooth her disarrayed hair, Yelena touched her sole remaining earring.
Her earrings had a tracking spell attached to them.
As long as you had one of the earrings, you would be able to find the location of the other.
If Anna had managed to safely deliver the earring to her husband, then it wouldn’t take him long to use it to find her location.
‘Although… that’s only if she managed to safely deliver it.’
Yelena had to plan for the worst.
She couldn’t just relax and place her faith on the earrings alone.
Anna was just too young.
She had to consider the possibility that something could go wrong with the delivery of the earring, causing Anna to lose it along the way.
Yelena carefully engraved the scenery that they were passing into her memory.
Despite having been kidnapped, none of her limbs were currently restrained.
Since he would prefer to stick to gentlemanly conduct, after Yelena showed no signs of resistance, Incan allowed her to ride in the carriage without having her hands and feet tied up.
At some point, Yelena, who had been silently staring out the window, got a look in her eye.
It was right when the carriage began rattling especially violently as it crossed a stone bridge.
“…!”
“…!”
Having waited long enough, Yelena suddenly doubled over in Incan’s direction.
“Urp!”
“Your Grace?”
“I think I’m going to vomit- Hurgh!”
“Hold on. Coachman!” Incan hurriedly called out to the coachman in a flustered tone.
Perhaps due to the coachman’s driving skills, the fast-moving carriage slid to a stop immediately.
After checking that the carriage had indeed stopped, Yelena patted her chest.
‘That’s fortunate. If they kept going, I really might have had to throw up.’
If Incan had ordered the carriage to continue driving without a stop, she had truly been prepared to heave her guts up all over the inside of the carriage.
It wouldn’t have been difficult either.
From the moment that Incan had appeared in front of her, Yelena had been struck by the foul stench that he carried.
Even now, the stench was still present.
If she took an even slightly deeper breath in Incan’s vicinity, it felt like everything she had eaten that day would come back up.
‘What could be the cause of his stink?’
Yelena considered this question for a moment.
The only thing he had worn as a disguise was a shabby hood, which only covered his face.
So she couldn’t figure out where on earth this stench was coming from.
“Your Grace, are you well?” Incan asked in concern.
‘His concern is probably that I might vomit on his clothes or his shoes.’
Without raising her head, Yelena squeezed out a voice that sounded like she was dying, “..no, my insides are still in turmoil. I think I need to get out to vomit.”
“That’s…”
“Shall I throw up in here instead?”
“…”
“…”
“If you’re worried that I might try to run away, you can just get out as well and keep an eye on me. You don’t really think that I’ll be able to overcome you by force and run away, do you?”
Whether or not he was convinced by this, after some hesitation, Incan eventually opened the carriage door.
Yelena leapt out of the carriage and began pretending to vomit by the side of the road.
