I’ll Be The Warrior’s Mother
-
chapter-266
“The Duke’s character is like that, but why on earth is his youngest son…”
Yelena’s mood sank as she thought of Noah, and more precisely, the person who had thrown herself to save someone else. How capable and kind of them.
“Have you come to see me?”
“Oh. You’re the one who saved the dying person?”
“Yes, it was my doing.”Thinking of Diana’s face, Yelena closed her eyes. “You have been so brave.”
She checked her remains in the coffin. Too much time had passed for her revival. “I hope you’ve gone to a better place.”
Yelena placed flowers on Diana’s coffin and thought of her once again. Then, a knock was heard. Yelena thought the maidservant had returned with the tea, but the person who appeared after the door opened was unexpected.
“Kaywhin.”
Yelena paused for a moment in delight but then she stopped. Her gaze lowered and fell on her ankle. Like a few days ago, a rigid brace was tightly fastened around her left ankle, with pristine white bandages wrapped around it.
“…”
A sigh escaped her. After successfully healing the knights and Aendydn, Yelena attempted to treat her injured ankle. However, unexpectedly, her divine power had completely disobeyed her. She couldn’t use her divine power to heal herself, for reasons unknown. It was bewildering.‘This is betrayal.’
Because of this, Yelena was now relying solely on the doctor’s treatment and her natural healing abilities, waiting for her ankle to get better.
One fortunate aspect was that her recovery rate was faster than that of an ordinary person. Although she couldn’t use her divine power to instantly heal wounds, ironically, her divine power seemed to enhance her body’s natural recovery abilities. Thanks to that, her ankle condition was improving drastically day by day. What should I do? Yelena still couldn’t walk without support. To undo the bandage and walk as freely as before would take at least a few weeks, even in the best-case scenario.
‘My ankle needs to heal quickly. My ankle needs to…’
“Yelena?” When Yelena stared at Kaywhin with frustration, he called her name in confusion and approached. “Yelena suppressed her desires and regrets and finally spoke.
“What’s the matter?”
“Sidrion has arrived.”
“Ah.” It was supposed to come soon, but it came faster than expected. “Are we leaving right away?”
“If you’re ready, My Lady.”
“I’m fine just going like this.” Since there was nothing brought in the first place, there was nothing to pack separately. Yelena spread her arms while sitting in the chair. Upon doing so, Kaywhin lifted her in his familiar gesture. Yelena stared blankly at him while still in Kaywhin’s embrace. “Do you have something to say?”
“It’s still unfair.”
“What?”
Impulsively, Elena grabbed Kaywhin’s cheek. Then she pressed her lips against his. Their soft flesh met, and between their parted lips, a warm tenderness was exchanged. Her momentarily startled partner quickly responded. The impulsive kiss they initiated became more fervent in an instant. After exchanging heat frantically, when they regained their senses, Yelena found herself lying on a soft bed.
“…” Breathing weakly, Elena gazed into Kaywhin’s eyes. Kaywhin was persistently focused on Yelena’s lips as if he was a thirsty man on a desert. Reading the intense desire in his deep blue irises, Yelena fluttered her eyelashes slightly. A tingling sensation emerged in her lower abdomen. What’s this? Without realizing it, Yelena pressed her thighs together and, blushing, opened her mouth. “Where is the Lord of the Black Tower right now?”
“He’s in the reception room… waiting.”
“I saw him before, and the chairs in the reception room of the Lord’s Castle were quite comfortable.” Yelena released the arm around Kaywhin’s neck and slid her hand down to her husband’s face. Carefully stroking his slightly swollen lower lip with her thumb, she continued speaking. “It would’ve been fine for him to sit for a long time…”
“…”
“Shall we take our time slowly?” Instead of answering, Kaywhin grabbed Yelena’s hand that was touching his lips. Then he lowered his head.
“Your Holiness, no, Your…” A maid who had brought in freshly brewed tea was about to enter the room but paused at the door to assess the situation inside. Soon, she quietly retraced her steps, recognizing that she had come at an inappropriate time. It was a considerable amount of time later that Sidrion finally saw the Duke and Duchess’ faces.
