The chairman looked at me with admiration.

“Alicia-sama is a very intelligent person. In a good way, I should say, you have the caliber of a duchess. I have met many people in my life, but I have never met a woman like you.”

“I don’t want there to be others like Alicia.”

Gilles blurted out next to me.

I knew the chairman was complimenting me, but Gilles was complimenting me too… right?

“I just say what I have to say and live the way I want to live.”

I live the way I want to live.

I was not different from Harris in that regard. But in my case, I clean my own mess.

“Oh, it is indeed a shame to lose the connection with you.”

The chairman said as he looked at me seriously.

I was glad that he was regretting cutting ties with Alicia, not the Williams family.

“Hey, you said you were going to lavish me, right?”

The woman said in frustration as she peered at the haggard Harris.

…You’re being awfully nasty.

I wondered if it bothered her so much that Harris was no longer associated with the Auges Trading Company.

“Hey, what are you going to do? What about our engagement…?”

Harris did not respond to the woman’s words.

It had been a rough patch after that…. The atmosphere was not getting any better.

The people in this store were the most annoyed. People continued to gather, and it was getting out of control.

“I’ll work. I’ll work hard. Even do the hardest work.”

Hearing Harris’ words, the woman’s face contorted into a blatant “What?”.

It was the ugliest expression I had seen all day.

“What are you talking about? Working? Outside the Auges Trading Company?”

The way she sneered at Harris made me uncomfortable.

The moment he was no longer in the Auges Trading Company, she instantly flipped him off.

“Did you love me because I was only a member of the Auges Trading Company?”

“Yes, of course. I loved you because of your financial power. That’s why I decided to marry you. You are the worst! What else is there to love about you?”

“That’s a pretty harsh thing to say.”

Gilles muttered in a small voice, raising an eyebrow at her exclamation. I nodded silently.

“…I was really in love with Marry.”

Oh, she was named Marry, wasn’t she? A prettier name than I had imagined. I thought it was Juliet.

She snickered at Harris’ words.

“Loved me? That’s so funny.”

“I don’t think you should love like that. You, too, will be seen as being conditional.”

Here Isabella interjected.

The unexpected speaker made me look at her.
