Kill the Hero
chapter-93

A+ rank dungeons were the prized property of the countries they formed in.

Prime property that they dared not put a price to.

Nevertheless there were two reasons why the Japanese government gave the Messiah Guild permission to attack the Firefox Dungeon.

One was that the Messiah Guild had made some promises that couldn’t be revealed and the Messiah Guild held a few weaknesses of the Japanese Government officials.

“When will the dungeon be cleared?”

“What you should ask is when it would be failed rather than when it would be cleared.”

“Failed?”

“According to the experts, the probability of clearing the dungeon is less than 20 percent.”

The other thing was that even if it was the Messiah Guild, the probability of them being able to clear the dungeon was only 20 percent.

Among those reasons, the latter was the deciding factor.

“It’s only that much?”

“It was the only reason the Japanese Government gave the dungeon to the Messiah Guild.”

After all, the Japanese Government Officials weren’t stupid or blind. The moment such an important dungeon appeared, they first gave the chance to their country’s guilds and players to clear it.

Rather than give up this opportunity, the Japanese Government stepped up and made preparations to attack the dungeon.

However, even when they offered a large number of benefits, it wasn’t easy for them to find 100 players willing to challenge the dungeon.

It was because it was virtually impossible for the guilds in Japan to unite together like the Messiah Guild.

This wasn’t a problem unique to Japan.

The Messiah Guild was the only place in the world where you could gather 100 of the best players.

“Then for the Messiah Guild would it instead be 50 percent?”

“No, the 20% was based on the Messiah Guild. Other guilds are much less.”

“20 percent?”

However even the Messiah Guild wasn’t likely to clear the dungeon.

The Messiah Guild didn’t have anything great over the other guilds.

Just a different resolution.

“And yet the Messiah Guild still entered the dungeon?”

“That’s just the Messiah Guild’s style.”

Nevertheless, the Messiah Guild’s plan of attack was aimed at leaving an advance team.

“The probability of success decreases as other guilds continue to attack a dungeon, but for the Messiah Guild, the probability of success increases. When the advance team attacks, they will leave clues or items behind.”

The advance team was willing to be stepping stones for those coming after them.

“It was for this reason that the Messiah Guild was respected. It was an action that no other guild could or would do.”

It was only possible because it was the Messiah Guild and that was why the Messiah Guild was treated like a religion.

Naturally, the atmosphere of those gathered around the Firefox Dungeon was not very good.

Most of the people there in fact, expected them to fail.

They just didn’t leave their seats as a sign of courtesy to the martyrs.

“They will probably focus on surviving as long as possible to leave a lot of information. So roughly ten days…?”

Therefore when two players appeared from the Dungeon Gate everyone in the stadium was shocked.

Everyone just stared at them blankly and the reporters forgot to baptise them in shutter clicks or even request for interviews.

At that moment, someone appeared with another person on his back and rushed forward quickly.

The place he headed toward was an ambulance that was stationed at the front of the stadium.

The moment he boarded the ambulance, he shouted loudly.

“To the hospital!”

As the ambulance quickly left, only then did people come to their senses.

“Oh my God.”

“They cleared the dungeon!”

A miracle had happened.

Of course, it was only later that they would realize just how amazing that miracle really was.

“Another one!”

Inside an ambulance that was driving hurriedly down the road.

“Another one!”

Inside, intensive treatment was being performed on someone who was suffering from extreme burns.

“Another Chocolate Bar!”

Lee Jin-ah was eating chocolate bars like he was crazy.

This caused Kim Woo-jin to have an absurd expression as he looked at him.

Lee Jin-ah was reaching out to Kim Woo-jin like a doctor asking a nurse for a scalpel.

“Cola! Cola infusion!” (TL: he’s referring to something like a ‘saline infusion’…just being silly)

At that, Kim Woo-jin took a can of coke from a box near him and threw it at Lee Jin-ah.

As he received it, Lee Jin-ah shouted again.

“Not this, Petro!”

Kim Woo-jin gave a cool stare without replying and only then did Lee Jin-ah stop playing doctor and instead said in a low voice.

“I fought with my life and I can’t even play?”

As he asked that, Lee Jin-ah stretched his hand and grabbed the box near to Kim Woo-jin and began to drink the soda in it.

1.5 litres of carbonated soda went down Lee Jin-ah’s throat and disappeared in his stomach.

After that, of course it was time to burp.

“Goooook!” (TL: think of burping sound, I just put it exactly as the author had it instead of ‘Burp!’)

From Lee Jin-ah’s mouth, a sound that was hard to believe came from a human, appeared.

However what was even harder to believe was the healing speed of Lee Jin-ah’s wounds after he had gotten sufficient intake of water and sugar.

‘The rank has gotten higher.’

This was the power of the Blessing of River Styx skill.

At a higher rank it granted its user the resilience to stay alive even if their head was detached from their body.

In fact when Kim Woo-jin had tried to deal with Lee Jin-ah, he’d appeared again shortly after getting his head cut off.

Compared to that, the burns were like having a sore throat and were not threatening at all.

‘It’s more important that Oh Se-chan was prepared for it.’

Of course, the recovery of the burns was largely attributed to the therapeutic skinsuit that Oh Se-chan had prepared rather than just his resilience.

‘It’s a really amazing item.’

Frankly, from Kim Woo-jin’s perspective, the things prepared by Oh Se-chan were much more surprising than Lee Jin-ah’s resilience.

Using items collected from dungeons to make better items was incredibly effective.

It was on the same level of a national project.

For example with dungeons with five or more floors, players often had to stay in it for more than a month and in order to increase their chances of survival, they filled their inventories with items that pursued efficiency more than anything else.

In other words it was an era where the ability to create or receive more efficient and powerful items determined the life or death of the players.

Unsurprisingly, the security of such technology was not something to take lightly.

In other words, this sort of technology was not something that could just simply be stolen from somewhere.

It could only be obtained because Oh Se-chan’s point of contact was someone who had a bit of power.

‘At this point, as far as I know that only the Hansung Group and Pandora are the only ones who possess this level of technology…was it Pandora?’

This was why Kim Woo-jin suspected the relationship between Oh Se-chan and Pandora.

Of course, there was nothing wrong with it.

‘Pandora was one of Johann Georg’s supporters.’

What struck him was that Pandora was one of the greatest supporters of the King of Undead.

‘It’s likely that by 2023, contact between them began in some way or the other.’

Moreover, it was likely around this time.

However it was funny that Kim Woo-jin had appeared which caused Pandora to not make contact with the King of Undead through Oh Se-chan.

‘Before that, I have to do my best.’

In the end, Kim Woo-jin had no choice but to work hard.

Therefore he confirmed once again.

‘I should start out with income first.’

Kim Woo-jin looked at the new items that filled his inventory.

The first thing that caught his eye was the Third Tail of the Nine-tailed Fox.

Having it not only increased one’s stats substantially, but there was also the incredible blinding effect, it was not an item that could simply be bought with money.

‘I know where the first, fourth, eight and ninth are.’

In addition, Kim Woo-jin knew the locations of 4 out of the 8 remaining tails.

Some of them were items that the Messiah Guild would obtain in the future.

What was more important to Kim Woo-jin however, was.

‘I managed to prevent it from entering Lee Se-jun’s inventory.’

In Kim Woo-jin’s eyes it was already a good job to not let it fall into the hands of Lee Se-jun.

‘Then there’s the Firefox’s skin.’

The fox leather was really useful. Armor made from the Firefox’s leather would not only be at the unique grade, but would also have very high resistance to fire.

‘With it, any cold dungeon could be cleared easily.’

Using its characteristic of generating heat, anyone would be able to complete dungeons with cold environments without suffering any penalties.

Considering the fact that most of the dungeons that players avoided were due to their harsh environments rather than their monsters, it was obvious that the value of such an item could not be ignored.

Other than those, there were still more rewards.

[Speedster]

[Skeleton Soldier]
