Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game

chapter-196-30041322
The large blurry shadow in the shape of a dragon passed through the sky, moving deeper into the tall snow-covered mountain range. The sense of the dragon reached out of his body as he felt every living presence covered in the range of the curse.
Finally, his gaze fell upon an empty valley between two tall peaks. It was covered under a thick layer of white snow with tall spruces growing everywhere. He tilted his massive crystal wings, elegantly gliding towards the valley.
With loud bangs, his body smashed through the snow-covered spruces. His tank-like mass of armour crashed through the trees, breaking them like thin twigs. He folded his wings back on his back.
Plenty of players immediately went for the big shiny candy known as metamorphosis. Still, as an experienced player, Vesuvius knew that the preparations were critical to maximizing gains from that rare once in fifty levels opportunity.
'This place should do. I need to spend all my stats points to gain as much boost as I need. There is no need to keep hoarding them for an emergency in this situation as it would be highly detrimental.'The dragon swept again through his surroundings with all of his senses, confirming there was no danger before he finally opened his status.

There was a huge dilemma before him. He couldn't decide if he should distribute stats in a way that would be most optimal or just dump it into magic as it had the best scaling.
'I should be able to freely transfer stats between it and vitality. That makes the decision easier. But I really need more intelligence... Nah, I will put everything towards maximizing my gains from the metamorphosis. I can increase my intelligence anytime, but metamorphosis is only once per fifty levels.'
Vesuvius immediately dumped all his stats points into his magic, the hot feeling of his magical power growing and spreading into his bones. The heat radiating out of his body immediately intensified, everything around catching on fire.
The dragon wasn't done as there was more preparation, so he closed his eyes once again as he faced another big decision, 'Should I use my ability points to increase my stat scaling? They are much more valuable than stats points. Well, my draconic magic only needs one level to evolve, which should bring a big gain to make it worthy. It isn't a bad investment too. It is important scaling ability.'
With a heavy heart, Vesuvius used fifteen of his precious points.

Vesuvius started to feel embarrassed as he read through the citations of the dragons, 'Do I also sound like that? It feels so wrong when I hear it from someone else.'
He quickly pushed back his useless thought and returned back to the problem before him, 'The first option is okay, I guess? Just a general improvement. I will keep it on the table.'
The dragon immediately moved towards the second option, and just a single look at its description was enough for him to know that it wasn't for him.
'Well, buffing magic? Nah, that doesn't fit with my style. It is kinda boring, and my body is already beyond powerful, so I can cross out the greed magic. It isn't like I can't learn any buffing magic, especially from dragon memories, but I refuse to specialize in it.'
His eyes moved towards the third option. This time, he felt that it was more fitting for him, 'Old good attack magic. It is mostly what I am using. To make it even more destructive and deadly would make sense.'
Only one thing confused him: 'What are these lense-like spells that I am using? It kinda feels like buffing and attack magic at the same time. Maybe both? That would make sense. There is plenty of spells that fit into multiple categories at once.'
It was extremely confusing as it was only after he became a dragon that he got into a contract with such weird spells that were doing something like that, 'They buff the breath, but they have direct destructive effects like attack magic.'
Luckily he remembered a sentence that he once heard from an archmage NPC, 'When buffing, mana stays within a body. But with lenses, it definitely has effects outside of the body, so it is more likely either pure attack magic or a mix of buffing and attack magic. Yes, it must be attack magic; it just uses already existing fire as fuel.'
Finally, feeling like he got it correct, he moved towards the last option. He was more than aware of what large-scale magic was. It was magic that took a long to cast, but it had immense effects once the casting was finished. It was the magical equivalent of weapons of mass destruction!
He wasn't very excited about it, 'I already saw such magic in dragon memories, but it is too impractical to use in battle. I can also replicate its effects through other means, like with my infernal rain or lightning rain. I will rather improve either all of my magic or attack magic. Both of them should buff my replicated mass destruction magic so I can cross this out. Maybe I will grab something like this later when it becomes easy to cast something like this fast.'
Vesuvius soon made a decision, 'Small improvements to everything are together much less impactful than a much bigger improvement to one thing. My attack magic is currently most important, so I will grab magic of anger.'
