POV ???:

"This is unacceptable! Monsters are occupying the land that should belong to humans!" a man in white was shouting, his voice resonating through a small circular chamber.

Even though the chamber was small, it was richly decorated and built out of polished marble, granite and jade. Seven chairs were placed in a circular formation, and a complex image consisting of runic symbols belonging to the seven elements was engraved on the ground, each chair sitting next to one rune.

A woman in blue stood up, "The ambassador of the light is right. We need to rally humanity and build an army to destroy the dragon daring to steal power that should belong only to the elemental gods!"

A giant man, bulging in muscles, looking more like a bodybuilder than a priest, smashed his fist against the armrest of his chair, "Shut up, woman! We must focus on burning the demons that defied the purity of fire! We can't falter in our efforts in the war against the forces of the Nether by getting distracted!"

No one other spoke, the occupants quietly sitting in their chairs as if the matter wasn't their concern.

The man in white rose out of his chair, hurriedly walking towards the exit, his white robes rustling with each of his steps.

"Do whatever you want, but the cardinal of the church of light overseeing this continent will act anyway! It is time for the crusade of light! We will build an army, and with the help of heaven we will strike down the beast of sin! We don't need your assistance; we are the most powerful church on the continent... no the world."

Finally, the whole room darkened, and a figure in black robes, its face and everything hidden under the black cloth, spoke in a hoarse voice that sounded like that of a person on a deathbed.

"The council of the seven elemental churches is supposed to prevent excessive conflicts between us and mediate disputes. Yet you are now shouting here like a mongrel, demanding us to go into a war that has nothing to do with us! You provoked the dragon. Now deal with it. The old times when we had to fight together to survive are gone. It is your church that has the hostile..."

"Shut up, you old sleek snake. Your church was never supposed to be with us..."

POV Vesuvius:

Vesuvius sat on his throne, his eyes shining as the ring on his finger sent a jolt of energy through his hand all the way to his head.

The dragon stirred on his throne as he read through the announcements.

'An with this, my build will rise even higher. The space magic is perfect for any kind of build. It had great potential for tricks while giving immense mobility.'

To gain a skill from a system was different than just acquiring the same knowledge from a book. It was guaranteed to work, as it contained knowledge fitted straight for its user. Also, the system gave its support, making the process easier.

'I just skipped who knows how long time of studying space magic. Also, most of the spells would need to be recalibrated and remade to work my dragon mana. Yet now, it was all done by the system. Sadly it is still not enough to modify the weird dragon lord magic, especially when I know only spells but lack the knowledge behind them.'

"You draconic majesty, may I ask what job I was hired for?" The old voice of the mage brought Vesuvius out of his thoughts.

The dragon turned his attention back towards the mage.

'That is a good question. I can't just send him home and suddenly showcase space magic myself. That would definitely raise some suspicion. I should probably give him some random work.'

"Mortal, forge me a magic item or create a new spell that will shrink the space around my body, allowing me to fit into a smaller space. Something like the effects inside of storage items. You will have access to my kingdom's materials and workforce."

'Wait, now that I think about it... it kinda sounds like TARDIS-level shenanigans.' Vesuvius felt his head spin when thinking about the weirdness of the space magic, yet simultaneously, he felt excitement, knowing its possibilities.

"That seems hard... to shrink something out of bounds is different than shrink something within some bounds. The energy needed..." the old mage was quietly mumbling, his eyes looking absent.

"I will do it, but something like this will take lots of effort and resea..."

"Don't worry, mortal. Your rewards will be raised appropriately with the needed effort."

'I wonder if it will work...' Vesuvius had the knowledge of space magic, but the skill gained by the system had its shortcomings, 'It directly gave me knowledge of spells and how to cast them. But there is no underlying information on how to develop a new spell. I lack the fundamental knowledge of magic. I really need to take some time and catch up with it.'

He had everything he needed in his innate memory, but it was such a vast repository that he felt that just getting through it would take a long time.
