Legend of the Great Sage
chapter-1607-30041322

As the space-devouring beast by the name of “Navy” wandered and devoured through outer space, the World of the Five Continents constantly grew as well. It basically gained new land, ocean, and sky with each passing moment, as well as a tremendous variety of plants and the original occupants of the various worlds.

In the beginning, they still needed Li Qingshan to separate them in a simple manner as the god of the world—the animals were placed on the Daemonic Beast continent, the humans were placed on the Central continent, while the species with special bloodlines were placed on the Otherfolk continent, who insisted on being called the Godfolk continent.

Later on, his will was gradually converted into a part of the will of the world, so the laws of the world automatically separated all the living creatures, operating like the six realms of saṃsāra.

The original occupants suddenly lost their homes, but the feelings they experienced were widely different.

The cultivators from the various worlds viewed the World of the Five Continents as paradise. Not only was there denser spiritual qi here, it could allow for higher realms of cultivation, no longer having to take the risk of facing the heavenly tribulation of ascension.

Most importantly, the Pavilion of Heavenly Tomes possessed everything that the Myriad sect in the Human realm had built up over the past million years. Li Qingshan had copied them all over, including the most central collection, the Myriad Heavenly Tomes. There were no sects or cultivation methods from any world that could rival them.

And, all of this was actually completely open to the public. Even mortals were free to go in for a stroll, which left the newly-arrived cultivators ravishing in joy, completely forgetting their fury of having their world destroyed. To them, nothing was more important than their own cultivation. The world was a place they were supposed to leave in the first place, so their predicament was basically just equivalent to ascending.

The mortals felt much worse. After all, they had lost all of their property instantly. They were allocated new land under the arrangements of the World’s society, and it would often be even bigger and more fertile than their original land, but they still could not help but feel some sorrow of leaving their hometowns.

However, they had nothing to resent, as the land was allocated completely freely. It was basically a social movement of beating up the rich and splitting up the land without shedding a single droplet of blood.

Regardless of the world, the wealthy always formed the minority and the poor formed the majority. The rich owned the vast majority of the land, while the poor had nothing. With this allocation of wealth, most of them responded reasonably positively, celebrating and cheering on the World’s society as their great saviour.

As a result, most of the mortals were happy and the higher cultivators were happy. Whether a small group of people in the middle were happy or not was clearly no longer important.

However, whether it was sorrow or fury, it all vanished very quickly. Compared to cultivators that prioritised longevity, the life of a mortal was far too short. In just a single generation, the foreign land had become their homeland.

Between the fields, smoke curled and the wheat glistened. Barefooted children ran around and had fun. They still could not understand all these emotions yet, but they all wanted to become cultivators from the bottom of their hearts.

Wandering from village to village, the storytellers of the Cloudwisp association described an absolutely gorgeous dream to them. They told them that as long as they worked hard, they could grow up to be cultivators. That was the great hero king Li Qingshan’s promise.

A farmer gazed at this from afar and smiled gladly, but an expression of confusion also flashed across his face. He thought, Had his youth been just too difficult that he made a decision like this?

The thought vanished with a flash. He did not dare to think any more about it. Slandering the god of the world would bring no benefit. Even if they came from the same hometown, they were not particularly close, and he clearly did not miss the old times much either.

He walked between the golden waves of wheat leisurely, stroking the wheat with his large, coarse hand gently like he was touching his own children.

“Yep. This year is going to be another great harvest!”

He was not a regular farmer, but a cultivator from the school of Agriculture. By now, he had already undergone the third heavenly tribulation and deserved the title of “grandmaster”. Even across the entire World of the Five Continents, there were only a handful of people like him.

Among the hundred schools of thought, the path of cultivation from the school of Agriculture had always been the slowest. Normally, it was the people without much talent that chose the school of Agriculture, so he truly deserved the title of genius.

When he was called that the first time, he was so surprised and astonished that his smile lingered for a very long time.

The last time he was called that was back during his youth, in Crouching Ox village. Back then, he was the number one genius of the village. Not only was he the first son of the village chief, but he had even been chosen by the master of the Iron Fist school as his final disciple. Just how glorious had it been?

Heh, back then, he was still a young cowherd!

He was unsociable and was known for his bizarre language and actions. He had even been unlucky enough to be possessed by a ghost back then, and he only recovered after being tended to by the village witch. However, he was still a loner, and he liked to talk to himself and an ox. Everyone was certain he would struggle to find a wife, perhaps even ending up without a woman for the rest of his life.

Now that he thought about it, he really could not say there was no reason why he was abused by his elder brother and sister-in-law.

Sigh, what am I thinking about this for?

He had decided a long time ago to bury these memories into the depths of his heart, to mention them to nobody, just in case he irritated him.

Of course, even if he mentioned it, probably no one would believe the “hero king” had actually gone through such rough times. Apart from a few acquaintances from the nine provinces, most of them all thought he was born to fight and was all-conquering!

However, these things called secrets always became more irresistible to think about the deeper they were hidden away, and they would become more interesting the more they were thought of. They had even gone for a “battle at the peak” over the title of the “greatest talent of the Crouching Ox village”!

Whatever, it’s fine if I just think about it, right? It’s not like he’s constantly paying attention to this world. Jeez, I just don’t believe it. What, is Li Qingshan supposed to send a bolt of lightning to kill me?

A secretive, mysterious smile appeared on his simple, tanned face, possessing the craftiness of a farmer.

Boom! A bolt of lightning shot across the sky and landed right before his face, leaving his tanned face even darker. His smile immediately stiffened.

A voice suddenly rang out from behind him. “Oh? Li Long, so you’re saying I deserved to be abused?”

Li Long turned around slowly, only to see Li Qingshan standing on the bobbing waves of wheat with his hands on his hips. Sparks flickered as he rubbed his fingers, gazing at him in a pondering manner.

Li Long said sternly, “You can’t say that! It was your unfortunate circumstances in your youth that allowed you to recognise the unfairness of the world, leaving you determined to lend a hand whenever you saw injustice so that you could change everything by bringing peace.”

“Well said!” Li Qingshan laughed. “There are no gods watching over up above. Justice lies within the knife!” A heroic spirit rose into the air, making the winds surge and the wheat bow.

That was what he had ended up realising in his youth. Now, after visiting the six realms of saṃsāra and witnessing all the gods, immortals, buddhas, and demons, it was still the same saying no matter how he thought about it.

Li Long sighed, finding some relief inside. At least he had moved on from that. Sure enough, speaking ill of the god of the world, even just mentally, was not something that he should do. He wondered whether he should ask that fellow Ru Xin for some Water of Oblivion.

Li Qingshan suddenly lowered his head and asked with a smile, “My old townsman, are you willing to lend me a hand?”

When he heard “old townsman”, even Li Long’s heart shook. Without any hesitation, he patted his chest. “Of course. If you have any orders, hero king, I’d never defy them.” You’re the god of the world. No matter how vast the sky and land is, they’re nowhere near as vast as you. Just what could I help you with as a farmer?

Li Qingshan smiled. “Go to the Demon domain!”
