Legend of the Mythological Genes

chapter-295
The cold wind gusted by again and again, whistling through space as sparks manifested.
Feng Lin stood at the battlefield in which the sinister qi and cold air were like waves that swept over repeatedly.
Numerous enemies surrounded him, and the chill was so intense that it was bone-piercing, wanting to suck away all the warmth of his body.
Earlier, he killed a spirit lifeform and immediately drew the hostility of these aliens that surrounded him now.
Sizzle~Energy fluctuated as the space distorted. Multiple streams of will shot out, reaching the same frequency as human brain waves.
In an instant, Feng Lin felt countless messages entering his mind. The intent of these messages was sinister, furtive, and clamorous…
“GET OUT OF MY HEAD!” If this continued, he felt that his mind would explode.
A strong burst of silver light shot out from the center of Feng Lin’s brow. His spirit force gushed forth like the tides.
Those spirit lifeforms were instantly impacted. Their bodies rippled like they had just suffered some damage.
(Eh?)
Feng Lin discovered that spirit force had an extremely great effect on these monsters from the Spirit Race. The structure of life could be classified into two components. One was the body, the other was the spirit!
These spirit lifeforms used energy to construct their bodies. Their bodies had no fixed form nor substance. Thus, material attacks were useless.
But this also meant that their spirit consciousness was exposed outside.
If someone could use powerful spirit force, they would be able to break apart the fragile energy shell of these creatures, interfere with their spirit consciousnesses, and make their consciousnesses collapse.
Upon coming to this conclusion, Feng Lin sat calmly as he folded some hand seals.
Yin Yang Mirror Imprint!
One of his hands was Yin, the other was Yang. They were like both sides of a mirror reflecting reality and illusory while his will gushed forth.
Those spirit lifeforms spiraled in the air, casting dark shadows. They were like grim reapers that came from hell and wanted to reap the lives of all humans here.
A powerful storm manifested from the spirit force, warping the space as it gushed forward.
In an instant, Feng Lin sensed countless intents that were filled with treachery, cruelty, and chaos… These were the intents of the spirit lifeforms.
Different lives would have different thoughts and intents. He completely had no idea how to understand the meaning of these thoughts. He only felt that it was extremely noisy, interfering with his mental state.
His spirit force formed numerous silver knives that sliced through the air, slashing through these intents.
The spirit lifeforms were heavily injured. They instantly howled in agony as their tentacles writhed in the air, generating energy storms. Electric currents shot out from them, congregating around Feng Lin instantly.
Sizzle~
Sparks flew everywhere.
The electricity blasted Feng Lin’s body, charring his clothes black. However, a jade-like luster was emitted from his skin, isolating the electricity completely.
Pu, pu, pu!
The spirit lifeforms suddenly radiated intense light, transforming into giant light bulbs. An intense radiation wave blasted forth from each of them, causing the radiation levels here to spike to a level 10,000 times higher than a nuclear bomb.
Screams rang through the flying shuttle.
Those students who were irradiated instantly discovered that pus had appeared on their skin, and all parts of their body soon became cancerous as their cells underwent necrosis.
Feng Lin could also sense this. It felt like there were millions of sharp needles piercing into his skin.
Stonebirth Transformation!
His skin toughened, becoming something like stones scales and enveloping him completely. His defensive prowess greatly increased.
But the price was that he would temporarily lose his mobility.
Bzzz~
The energy current continued forth, devastating the surroundings.
Numerous energy particles tried to smash the stone shell, but all they did was generate some sparks.
These spirit lifeforms might have some strange attacks, but the ability of being impervious to water and fire caused Feng Lin to not find much difficulty in dealing with them.
However, the others didn’t have it so easy.
Even if their cultivation bases were higher than Feng Lin’s, the toughness of their bodies was way inferior. Leaving aside the fact whether they could defend against the energy attacks from the Spirit Race or not, they might not have a method to kill these spirit lifeforms and there were even some humans who couldn’t see them at all.
The flying shuttle trembled violently. From the windows of the cabin, Feng Lin could see the spirit shark rushing over again and again, headbutting the flying shuttle.
Feng Lin entrenched himself in defending his position. He was like an immovable steel rock that wouldn’t crumble no matter what attacks he faced. From the start to the end, he didn’t give the spirit lifeforms any chance to act.
Sizzle!
Electromagnetic waves fluctuated as numerous messages were exchanged in the air.
Since these spirit lifeforms were an alien race, they had their own civilization and their intelligence was actually above the human race.
Upon seeing that they could do nothing to Feng Lin, the majority of them floated away, leaving only ten or so octopuses behind.
(Underestimating me?)
A cold smile lit up Feng Lin’s lip. His spirit force then erupted forth with intensity.
“Open!”
With a howl of anger, a spirit force storm gushed forth from the stone shell, instantly blasting into these spirit lifeforms.
Feng Lin leaped into the air and sped away rapidly. Terror was everywhere.
The sounds of combat rang out within the flying shuttle.
Roar~
All of a sudden, three black figures lunged downward from the ceiling of the flying shuttle, bringing a rotting smell with them.
Feng Lin already sensed their movements with his spirit force. He flipped his body and spun like a spinning top, as he sent those three black figures flying from his kicks. They heavily crashed into a wall, but after that, they actually stood up and shook the impact off.
Feng Lin glanced over and discovered that these three were actually zombies. Wounds could be seen on their skin, dripping rotting blood. They radiated death qi and their eyes flared with red light. They came rushing toward Feng Lin.
Within their bodies, the auras of the Spirit Race could be felt.
If they couldn’t even manage possession, how could their race be termed as the Spirit Race?
The zombies howled as their drool dripped. They didn’t know fatigue as they rushed forward. Their sharp venomous claws scratched about, wanting to slash Feng Lin.
Feng Lin didn’t dare to fight head-on, bare-handed against them. He brandished his metal cudgel and danced with it. He was like a tornado that shot straight into their midst.
The bodies of these zombies were tough!
Although they were sent flying from the impact of the metal cudgel, very swiftly, they stood up once more. Their intestines, inner organs, and bones were all revealed on the outside. A strange energy ripple actually fluctuated as they spat out fire, wind, and ice from their mouths respectively.
After being possessed by the Spirit Race, they had all turned into zombie-like creatures and inherited some of the traits and abilities of the Spirit Race.
Zombies could be seen everywhere. This place was like hell on earth.
Feng Lin glanced over only to see the zombies multiplying in number. They gushed forth like the tides and were everywhere.
This formless virus seemed to be capable of spreading.
Those humans who died under the hands of the Spirit Race all stood up after being possessed. It was clear that they were unable to die in peace.
HOWL~
The zombies used their claws and were like lizards hanging on the wall. They roared as they lunged over ferociously.
Feng Lin had no place to escape to. He could only fight them in close-quarters.
Cudgel shadows filled the sky as he swung his weapon with full force.
The moment those zombies got near him, they were blasted away by his cudgel.
However, the zombies had long since lost their sensation of pain. As long as they weren’t completely shattered apart, even if their legs and hands were crippled, they would still move.
Feng Lin was pestered beyond endurance; thus, he doubled the force he was using and swung his cudgel even fiercer, becoming a slaughterer.
No matter how strong the bodies of the zombies were, they were ultimately still flesh and blood. The moment they got near to Feng Lin, they were smashed into smithereens.
With Feng Lin in the center, blood and flesh splashed like rain everywhere. The entire ground around him was dyed red.
Feng Lin didn’t treat these zombies as members of the same species. He showed no mercy at all.
And once a zombie got completely destroyed, several octopus-like monsters could be seen crawling out from their mouths. His spirit force instantly materialized a silver sword, and he controlled it to slash these spirit lifeforms.
BOOM~
The sounds of combat rang out unceasingly.
Amidst the zombies, groups of students were fighting together, clashing against the zombies. They survived even after such a long time, and all of them could be considered elites among humanity.
Among them, Feng Lin saw Ferrot. His five-meters tall body was extremely conspicuous and could be referred to as a giant. He was clad in mecha armor, and each of his punch could blast a zombie into a pulp of flesh.
However, even more zombies lunged forth like mad dogs, forming a wriggling mountain of flesh. Things looked extremely terrifying.
RUMBLE!
All of a sudden, a piercing red light shone within the flying shuttle with an unprecedented intensity.
A loud warning sounded out.
“All students, please pay attention! Another gigantic spirit lifeform has appeared in outer space. The flying shuttle is heavily damaged and would crumble apart within ten minutes. Everyone, hurry and grab an escape capsule. Prepared to flee for your lives…!”
