chapter-179
I took out another spare bag and shoved in, as much Yellow Dust as I could. After a while, the bag weighed around 300 kilograms. 'This should be enough… for this bag' I thought and took out another one. I wasn't sure, if I could ever encounter that Yellow Dust again, so I wanted to take a lot. Of course, I wouldn't carry those both bags with me, I needed to hide them somewhere safe.
The problem was 'That Avian is circling around the entrance. He will know about the bags, and I have 600 kilograms of that stuff just for myself. Where do I hide it?' I thought. If I hid it inside the tunnels, there was no guarantee I would be able to come back to this place, due to Avians. If I took it outside, the Avian would spot me with those heavy bags, and report that to his King. 'He will not be able to lift me either… I think' I thought and wrecked my brain about a possible hiding place for my Yellow Dust.
There was no ideal hiding place, inside the Den and the outside, was also not optimal. 'I can only hope they don't try to take it away from me, when I go out. I will try hiding it at the entrance and then dismiss the Avian. If it works, I should be able to get my Yellow Dust without them knowing' I thought and proceeded towards the exit.
The weight on me, was slowing me down but due to the attack earlier, there weren't any Corpse Dogs blocking my way. I arrived at the exit and placed my bags behind some stones. When I went out, the Avian flew over and asked "Are you done?". I said "Yes, go tell your King, that I have enough Yellow Dust, to blow the Den up. Tell her, I will be at the Entrance No. 1 shortly. I have to take care of some things first".
The Avian said "I can give you a ride". I replied "No need. Just relay the news and tell them to prepare. I will join you shortly". The Avian nodded his head and left. 'Whew… that was easier than I thought. He still wanted to give me a ride though. My suspicions turned out to be true, they are watching over me, but I guess, they are not as much concerned. Otherwise, he wouldn't leave' I thought.I made sure the Avian really left, and retrieved the bags full of Yellow Dust, from the tunnel. I sprinted as fast as I could, towards some desolate location in order to bury my bags. I needed to chose a location, that I would be able to find later on. For that, I used my map and headed to a specific area. There, I buried my bags and marked my map with the location.
'Good, now that my Yellow Dust is stored for the future use, I can now head towards the Entrance No. 1' I thought and moved. With 600 kilograms gone, my speed increased. While I ran, I also ate some food, just to replenish the energy I used. Some more running later, I arrived at the Entrance No. 1. The war was in full swing, I could see thousands of Corpse Dogs attacking, there was even a huge Corpse Dog, that Avians avoided.
Some of the Avians spotted me and notified the King. She flew over and asked "Where the hell were you!? The amount of Corpse Dogs and their strength is really many times greater, than we expected. Even more than you expected. Quickly blow them up!". I looked around the battlefield and noticed that, loads of Avian already died. I said "Take me over to the battlefield. I have a plan". She nodded and personally grabbed me to fly over.
I said, while we flew in the air "I need to be around 10-20 metres above the ground. Just make sure to go to a place with the most Corpse Dogs. The denser it is, the better". She replied "Alright". We flew over to the middle of the battlefield and I tipped over the bag containing Yellow Dust. I didn't empty it completely, I dumped around half of it on to the corpse dogs below. The corpse Dogs were confused about my actions but I didn't care about that.
I said to the King of Avians "Quickly, make your people retreat. Far away!". She immediately gave the order and Avians started to retreat. I lit a torch and said. "Fly up, As fast as you can". She did just that, and I dropped the torch.
"Faster, Go up, as far as you can!". She screamed "I'm trying!". Then "BOOOOOOOM!". The explosion below evelopted at least half of the entire Corpse Dog's army. Those in the middle of it, perished. So much so, that there were no ashes left behind. The blast of air travelled in all direction and knocked away the rest of the Corpse Dogs, that managed to survive. We also felt the blast in the skies but fortunately, the King of Avians was strong enough to stabilise herself, and not fall to the ground.
She was visibly shocked and said with fear in her voice "This type of weapon shouldn't exist. It can destroy a whole city, if there was enough of it". The Avians regrouped in the air, to form a swarm. We all looked at the aftermath of that explosion. When the dust settled and all became visible again, we saw what type of explosion, that amount of Yellow Dust caused."This thing created a huge hole. Not only that, all the Corpse Dogs in the blast radius perished, without a corpse intact… The losses are too heavy. They are finished" I said out loud. The hole from the explosion was huge, not only was it as deep as about 20 metres, it was also about the size of 300 metres in diameter. That Yellow Dust, was a weapon of mass destruction. 'Now, Avians will surely clam the Yellow Dust for themselves. Good thing, I took out that 600 kilograms of it. With that much stuff, I can blow up couple of cities' I thought.
With all Avians staring in awe, at the destruction caused by the explosion. I said "Now you just have to kill off all the remaining Corpse Dogs. I don't know if the leader is still alive or not, but I still have some Yellow Dust left. We can drop it at a different location if need be". The King of Avians responded absentmindedly "Yea".
After a while, she snapped out of it and commanded "Go to all entrances and kill anything that pops up!". The swarm acknowledged and moved in groups to each entrance. There was still a group with the King of Avians and me that stayed behind at the Entrance No. 1. I said "Take me down to the ground. I will investigate the Den now". She nodded her head and we flew down.
When we landed, I said "Just wait in the air, in case I need support. I will try and go inside. I should be able to find out, if the leader is still alive", then I ran off towards the entrance, or rather whatever was left of it.
