Little Tyrant Doesn’t Want to Meet with a Bad End

chapter-582-2
“W-wait a moment! Nora? Wuu…”
The golden chain wrapped itself around Roel’s body and bound him tightly, rendering him incapable of moving. Nora leaned in and sealed his lips before proceeding to push him down.
“You aren’t allowed to resist, you traitorous subject. You agreed to repent for your actions.”
“I-isn’t doing this now a little… I mean, you turned me down the last time!”
Roel hurriedly asked for a timeout upon seeing Nora’s flushed face of excitement. The latter did pause for a brief moment, but only to tighten her grip on the chain.“I was worried about getting pregnant, but it’s different this time around. I’m a projection.”
“But any damage sustained by the projection will be reflected on the main body, right? Your first time, too, will be…”
“…”
Nora fell silent. She also didn’t think that it was ideal for her first time to be through a projection, but her sapphire eyes didn’t waver. Instead, a hint of sorrow crept in as she further hardened her determination.
“…Countless times during the year you have been away, I have regretted my decision to turn you down back then. I shan’t experience such regret ever again.”
“Nora…”
Looking into her glimmering eyes, Roel felt a pang of guilt strike his heart. He opened up his arms to embrace his lover.“…I understand, Nora.”
“Mm.”
With such gentle words of acceptance, their shadows gradually overlapped in this dim room until they finally became one.
…
At daybreak, as the first crack of sunlight glowed above the horizon, Roel opened his eyes.
His mind was still groggy from having just woken up. His surroundings were dark, as last night’s campfire had been extinguished. He stared blankly at the holes in the ceiling before he finally remembered what had happened last night. Following that, he felt a wave of weakness engulfing his body.
Before he could get up, a familiar voice echoed from his side.
“You’re already awake? Did I disturb you?”
“Not at all,” Roel replied with a hoarse voice.
Turning to his side, he saw that Nora, who had shared a bed with him, was already awake and was blinking at him.
“I thought you would sleep for a long time. I must have subconsciously gone easy on you.”
“…No, you really didn’t.”
You have wrung every single drop out of me, Roel thought.
Noting how her sapphire eyes were starting to glow with lust, Roel hurriedly halted her thoughts as he thought about the situation last night. For the first time, he actually felt a little intimidated.
Before consummating their feelings, he had been worried that she wouldn’t be able to withstand his attacks. He had only tasted complete victories in his past experiences, after all. Who could have thought that Nora was a different game?
Ultimately, this could be boiled down to her Angel Bloodline.
The Angels were one of the ruling races back in the ancient era. Unlike the Kingmaker Clan and the High Elves, the Angels received a much greater physical enhancement from their bloodline, and that was even more so for Nora’s Gold-tier Angel Sovereign Bloodline.
It also didn’t help that Roel was bound by the golden chains, which played to Nora’s interests and further stoked her excitement. If not for his recent bloodline awakening to Gold-tier and his Indestructible Body, he would have never been able to withstand her offense.
The first half of the battle concluded with Nora collapsing onto the bed with a shudder. Roel exploited her moment of respite to break free of his binding and counterattacked. Through his relentless aggression, he eventually triumphed over her and protected his dignity as a man.
But after everything was over, it belatedly struck him that this was only her first night.
“…”
Roel’s cheeks twitched as he looked at the brightly smiling angel lying next to him. He could only console himself that he hadn’t relied on Peytra’s protection this time around.
“Hmph. I thought that you would succumb first last night, but you’re better than I thought.”
“Don’t underestimate me. It’s just that I can’t recover as quickly as you do for the time being,” Roel replied with a bitter smile before sitting up and looking out of the window.
Nora looked at him with a smile before placing her head on his shoulder. This was one of the rare occasions she didn’t try to assert her dominance.
“How much time do we have left?”
“…We have till sunrise.”
“I see.”
Roel relished in his lover’s warmth. He was already starting to miss her even though they were still together. He tried searching for the right words to say in this situation, but nothing came to his mind.
The horizon gradually brightened up.
Just the thought that the warmth accompanying him would soon vanish left him with a heavy feeling in his chest, as well as a tinge of fear. With Nora’s departure, he would become the only anomaly on this piece of land. His journey would be both lonesome and arduous.
Before he could say a word, he felt a hint of wetness on his shoulder.
“Nora?”
“…It’s nothing.”
Roel turned over to take a look, only to be shocked to see that Nora had started tearing up. The latter hurriedly turned away and wiped her tears, but her shoulders were still trembling slightly. He was stunned for a moment before realization struck him.
I am frightened, but I’m not the only one who is frightened. Even someone as strong as Nora is frightened too. She’s frightened that this will be an eternal farewell. She’s frightened that the hell she has lived in over the past year will return.
Their union last night might have appeared abrupt and untimely, but perhaps they were merely holding back their unease and wanted to seek solace from each other.
“I was still thinking of giving you a boost of motivation before parting ways… Sorry.”
“It’s fine,” Roel gently replied as he opened his arms wide and hugged Nora’s back. “I should be the one apologizing. For the heartache and unease I have caused you over the past year, even now, I’m sorry.”
Nora couldn’t hold back her torrent of emotions and started weeping.
The two of them sat in silence till the morning sun finally rose into the sky. It was then that the woman in Roel’s arms began scattering as specks of light.
“…It’s time.”
“Mm.”
As her mana pulsation weakened, Roel subconsciously tightened his arms in an attempt to keep her by his side. At the same time, Nora turned around and tightly grabbed the chain in her hand.
“Promise me. You absolutely have to come back…”
“I promise you,” Roel replied with a determined smile.
His response seemed to have slightly alleviated her unease, as her scrunched expression loosened a little. It didn’t take long before her body dissipated into golden specks of light that flowed back into Ascendwing.
Roel was the only one left in the room.
“…”
He sat alone on the bed for a long while before he finally stood up to pack his items. He took all of the necessities with him and confirmed the directions before embarking on his solo journey to fulfill the promise he had just made to his lover.
His silhouette slowly disappeared into the vast prairie. Little did he know that a pair of eyes in the darkness had already breached the spatial impediment to lock upon him.
