Little Tyrant Doesn’t Want to Meet with a Bad End

chapter-601-2
Both Roel and Wilhelmina felt jittery, as if a pitfall was waiting ahead of them. The cheers they heard from their allies didn’t sound like assurance of victory but merely the calm before the storm. This was a feeling that only the two of them, who had fought with the Deviant Sovereign, felt.
Their intuition told them that things couldn’t be that easy.
The two of them exchanged glances before putting up their guards. As if to verify their guesses, a speck of black light expanded from the heart of the deviants’ formation before abruptly surging into the air.
…
“Banjol was the strongest-ever Beastman Sovereign. You can say that he’s the reason the Beastmen were beneath only the Angels, Dragons, and the other overwhelmingly powerful races in the Savior’s faction.”“I find it hard to believe how an individual can bridge the gap between the Beastmen and the other powerful races… Grandar, how does his strength compare to yours?”
“We have never fought before, as our races are on good terms, but I have seen him competing with the other races. He is able to unleash his own Divine Domain.”
“He has a Divine Domain?”
“An extremely powerful one at that—the Savior called it a ‘One Man Army’. It has extremely strict activation conditions that are nigh impossible in the present era, but you should still be careful if you notice anything amiss.”
…
As the black light pillar rushed into the sky, Roel suddenly thought about the conversation he had with Grandar, and his eyes sharply narrowed.
Divine Domain was a unique spell used by the ancient gods, but its means had already long since disappeared from history. Its prowess differed from god to god—it could be auxiliary in nature to some gods, but it could also be a killing blow for others. It should have been impossible to unleash one’s Divine Domain in the present world.
The Sia Continent’s environment was very different from how it was tens of thousands of years ago; it should have been impossible to fulfill the conditions required for a Divine Domain’s activation. That was also the reason Grandar didn’t harp too much on the matter.
Yet, an anomaly happened.
The black light pillar began to expand amidst an intense mana pulsation. Ashen-black mana enveloped the sky, making the sun look brighter in contrast. At the same time, the earth began to tremor.
War steeds cried in fear, as the soldiers on both sides raised their heads to stare at the never-before-seen phenomenon with looks of absolute fright.
Sensing danger like never before, Roel quickly came to a realization—I can’t let him activate his Divine Domain. Without any hesitation, he clad his body in crimson mana and roared, “Mina, interrupt his spell!”
“Understood!”
An explosive surge of mana burst forth from Roel. Thick fog formed and concealed his figure, as a humongous skeleton quickly manifested around him.
On the other hand, Wilhelmina tightly grasped her sword’s handle. She glanced at Roel as she channeled her desire to protect and burning affection into her blade. As soon as she made her move, the tens of thousands of swords on the battlefield resonated with her will like subjects greeting their liege.
The warring soldiers exclaimed in astonishment as they turned their sights toward her.
“Origin Level 1, a new Race Sovereign!” Kurt and the others, who were at the front of the united army, were surprised by Wilhelmina’s mana, but the latter paid them no heed.
She drew her sword from its sheath and executed a powerful slash, releasing an incomparably powerful sword arc that sliced through the air to strike the black light pillar.
It was as if the world was split into two in this instant.
However, a figure suddenly flitted in front of the black light pillar to protect it from Wilhelmina’s slash. It was the two-headed deviant who had received Banjol’s blessing earlier.
The slash severed it at the waist, causing blood to gush from its body. However, one of its heads chanted a spell that enveloped its body with healing light, allowing it to swiftly recover from its severe injury.
Wilhelmina frowned. She took a moment to examine the situation before abruptly rushing forth to confront the mutated two-headed deviant. She made this decision because she noticed that Roel was charging at the Deviant Sovereign with a fully-manifested skeleton giant around him.
Both Roel and Grandar agreed that they had to stop Banjol from activating his Divine Domain at all costs, which was why they held back nothing at all.
The elites surrounding the Deviant Sovereign noticed their approach and immediately launched a counterattack. Over fifty Origin Level 2 transcendents rushed at Roel from all directions. At the same time, the deviant priests stacked layers of defensive spells on Banjol.
Even so, Roel’s expression remained steadfast.
He channeled his mana into his Crown’s Stones and first released a flood of frost aura, encasing the enemies right in front of him in eternal ice. Following that was a surge of erupting lava that shot across the air like a fire dragon amidst a layer of gray ashes, tearing through the defensive spells the deviant priests had layered around Banjol.
It was nigh impossible to defend against the Crown’s Stones. Roel’s powers wreaked havoc upon the deviants, opening a path for him to advance further. At the same time, Grandar’s body started to emanate a blood-red glow.
Right before the black light pillar, Roel came face-to-face with the Deviant Sovereign once more, but this time, Banjol didn’t have any guards around him.
Banjol raised his hand toward Roel as if intending to plunder the latter’s heart as he had done previously, but before he could lock his aim, a cloud of ashes suddenly blew over and blocked his line of sight.
“Your spell requires a direct line of sight, right?” Roel spoke confidently amidst the ashes.
Banjol’s face darkened. Before he could release a spell to dissipate the ashes, a humongous skeleton giant charged out with a roar and hurled a fist crackling with crimson lightning at the Deviant Sovereign.
Grandar dared not to hold anything back against history’s strongest beastman magician, especially since the latter used to be his close friend.
Faced with the apocalyptic attack, Banjol’s eyes slowly widened as he came to a realization.
“I see… But it’s futile,” a hoarse voice reverberated in Roel’s head.
Grandar’s fist smashed right through the Deviant Sovereign’s body, completely shattering it. However, a flood of black sludge flowed out from his destroyed body and fused into the black light pillar, causing it to flare with greater fervor.
Boom!
An earth-shattering explosion broke out, inducing tremors that lasted for a long time. An intense white light assaulted the surroundings, blinding everyone in the area. When Roel finally opened his eyes once more, Banjol and the black light pillar were no longer anywhere to be seen.
Instead, he was met with another light source in the sky, accompanied by a crushing pressure.
“That is…”
Roel bore the tremendous pressure and slowly raised his head, only to be startled by the sight of a chaotic ‘egg’ wrapped in a sinister light floating in the sky.
