When Noah's opponent heard the judge speak to begin the competition, he didn't think twice and already summoned up his Blessing.

As any kind of Blessing was allowed, the man was quick to create an ice knife to use during combat. In such a tight place, the man could even try to summon some kind of ice spear and shoot it at Noah, but that would open up opportunities for Noah to attack him up close, which would make him helpless and everything might go wrong. So with the ice knife, he ran to Noah, hoping to catch the rookie off guard.

But unfortunately for him, in addition to Noah having a lot of experience with knife fights, he also had a Blessing of Fire, which was obviously the natural enemy of ice. Of course, he wouldn't be able to make the knife melt instantly, but he could use fire a great deal in defense, using a small wall of flame to prevent his opponent from attacking easily by threatening to melt the opponent's weapon, as much as he could use in the attack, since it would be impossible for the opponent to use an ice knife to defend himself from fire.

Watching the man make a gun out of his element made Noah feel inspired to try something like that too. To make a weapon with the power of a Blessing, it would take a lot of control over that Blessing, something that man must have practiced for a long time. Not to mention the other man was controlling ice, which is something solid, and controlling fire, that does not even have a physical state (being considered just an energy), was a completely different thing. The control it would take to model fire into a weapon should already have been absurdly high, while the heat of that flame would need to be even higher to become a usable weapon to the point that when it touched someone's skin, it would leave more than light burns.

And that's exactly what Noah did. While the man was preparing to cut Noah, Noah focused as hard as he could to make a dagger by concentrating the fire to stay as focused as possible.

Looking at what Noah was doing, initially his opponent was concerned, as he knew very well the disadvantage that his Blessing had when compared to fire, but when he realized that this newbie was strangely trying to do the same thing as him, trying to form a weapon with his Blessing, the man became completely unconcerned.

He had some friends his age over 40 who had been Blessed Rank D for a long time, who also each had Blessings of Fire, since it was one of the most common Blessings that existed. And when he started using the ice dagger in the training fights they had, his friends also started trying to do the same with their flames, but unfortunately for them, even after years of trying, no one had succeeded, causing everyone to give up spending so much time trying something so useless.

If not even his friends, with years of training and years of experience being Blessed Rank D, had succeeded, he had no doubt that this new young kid would fail.

'From his face, it looks like he's not even 20. This kid is overestimating himself too much by trying to copy my most practical skill so easily,' the man thought as he looked at Noah with contempt. Since, if Noah's movement failed, he was sure that Noah would have no way to defend himself, and his ice dagger wasn't pointed somewhere that would only hurt Noah; the intent of it was to truly kill.

That was not just the thinking of the man who was fighting; there had already been some cases where his opponent tried to do something like that as well. They invariably tried to create knives of fire, poison, earth, and other various elements, but nothing worked at the time, and as expected, the cemetery was where each of these people was now.

Seeing Noah trying to create a fire blade caused a slight disappointment to course through the audience. They wanted this to be a fierce battle, to entertain everyone there, but apparently, the only thing that would happen would be that this boy would die with a single stab and a disappointed look for not being able to copy the skill of his opponent.

"Too bad. I thought he would have something special to show," one of the people with mysterious voices commented.

"I never had any hope, to be honest. With his age in such a place, I highly doubted that he was anyone notable. Unless he has a high ranking Blessing, his strength should not be greater than a low Rank D. If it was something bigger than that we would have known about it already," commented an old man, covered in darkness.

"That's true," another man commented.

"I believe you are mistaken." The person whose voice said that made the others pay attention.

Hearing what this person said, some frowned, although it was impossible to see it because of how dark the place was. But they did not ignore what was said, and paid more attention to the young rookie who was fighting on stage, even though they believed that he was really going to die right there. They'd seen it happen countless times, and they didn't believe it would be any different now.

But to the surprise of practically everyone in that place, when the blade of the man's ice knife touched Noah's fire blade, the impossible happened. Instead of the ice simply passing through the fire because it was hardly condensed, in fact, the ice knife was split in half, causing one of the halves to fly away.

Fortunately for the man, doing so greatly reduced the density of Noah's knife, so much so that when Noah continued cutting, practically unaware that there was an ice knife in the way and made a cut toward the man's chest, the knife did not penetrate anything, but at least it left a trail of fire that was burning everything in its wake.

The man had been momentarily stunned, trying to understand what had just happened, but the pain he felt in his chest, as if he had just embraced a large steel plate that burned him more and more every second, frying his skin and starting to hit his body fat quickly, caused him to wake up from his stunned state and he fell to the floor, screaming in pain.

The pain resistance of humans was much lower than that of monsters; only Blessed with Blessings focused on physical strength would probably be able to deal with the pain that was being burned by the flames of hell without falling to the ground by rolling and screaming in a pathetic way. Clearly, from what this man was doing, he was not one of those Blessed with Blessings that could withstand fire in a less pathetic way.

He was initially a magician who had adapted to use his Blessing in a closed place. His body was stronger than a normal human that reached Rank D in power, but he was not so strong that he could handle this pain so easily.

The audience at that moment was silent. They could not believe that this boy had managed to condense a fire dagger. This was a difficult thing even for Blessed Rank C, but who was going to tell such a young boy that this was impossible?

Robert's friends around him were all gaping in amazement; nobody knew what to say at that moment.

"Was he really as weak as you said?" one of the young men said to Robert.

"You said he was disposable. What the fuck? Is that disposable?" another young man in the group added incredulously.

"Damn, you said he was just a Rank E. Since when would a Rank E be able to defend against a Rank D like that? That man had made it to the finals a few times; he almost won the tournament once! And now you come and tell me that a Blessed Rank E managed to defeat him so easily? If it's that easy for a Rank E to win, I'll sign up and earn that easy money myself!" One of the boys who had bet against Noah spoke with a lot of anger, since everyone had bet against Noah, but this boy was the one who had bet the most.

Probably almost all of the gamblers had bet against Noah, but no one could blame Noah himself for the money they had lost. After all, it was understandable to do your best to try to win a life and death battle, so they had to look for someone with the minimum of guilt to blame.

'Whoever bet on the boy will certainly win a lot of money just in this fight.' It was the most common thought in everyone's mind watching the fight.

In the VIP room, where the mysterious people were sitting, the two old men who did not believe the person who had warned them about Noah could not help being surprised. They had been sure from their judgment that this boy was going to lose, and who knew that contrary to what they had thought, in fact, the boy would win?

Only one person in that room had a slight thought that that boy would win, and he was the owner of the first voice, the voice that always apparently had something to show about the boy that they, even though they were old and experienced, had not yet realized.

"You really were right. I can't believe that even though you were so young, you developed such a powerful sense of perception. Your father would certainly be proud," one of the old men said with a laugh.

Hearing what the old man said, the other person was a little angry. "Please don't mention that man in my presence." the person said in a cold voice.

Hearing this, everyone in the room cowered a little on the bench; they had forgotten that their relationship was not as good as it looked on the outside and made a mental note not to comment on it again.

Noah, while still on the stage, was looking at a window floating in front of him with amazement and a little happiness on his face.
