Chapter 481: Sole Equipment

In Demoness Ruins, ten players had gathered together to form a team. They went for Eternal Darkness once again.

Li Yi was not happy about the fact that only one Mirror of Amplification was dropped. The time for Glory dungeon to reopen is drawing near. They would have no boss to fear if they had more Mirror of Amplifications. The skill to repel all spells was simply in defiance of nature.

Continue fighting! They would like to see if Mirror of Amplification would show up again!

After 131 consecutive TPKs, they finally took down Eternal Darkness.

“Little brother, please let me off. I just want to die…” Confused Fox was weeping. He did not want to continue the battle no matter what everyone else said.

It was then Eukana entered the scene and blabbed on before disappearing. 5 items appeared on the ground.

7 Purple Quality Equipment and 1 Mirror of Amplification.

All 7 Purple Quality Equipment were legendary and were the most powerful scattered equipment within the Level 100 range. Amongst them were 1 equipment of the Archer class, 4 of the Wizard class, and 2 of the Vagabond class. There was none for Priest and Warrior classes

Li Yi was given that Archer-class equipment. It was a bracer called Eukana’s Venomous Armguard.

{Special effect: Adds poison effect on normal attacks]

[Special effect: Add 90 points on Poison Resistance]

This was a fairly powerful Purple Quality scattered wear. Li Yi removed his Tier 1 bracer and replaced it with this. Although a Tier 1 Equipment Set was effective, it was far inferior to this bracer.

Poison effect being added into normal attacks. Li Yi’s Level 25 Gold Quality Vile Tongue Stake was enough proof that the poisonous attribute provided him with quite a competitive edge.

There was only one Vagabond in the party, so the 2 Vagabond-class equipment were given to Little Elf from the Magical Realm while the remaining Wizard-class equipment was distributed based on rolls. Those who obtained the equipment were happy, but those who left without one could only blame it on their bad luck.

Li Yi was thrilled to see another Mirror of Amplification being dropped. The other equipment was only secondary to him, and this item was what he was really after.

If every member of the party had one Mirror of Amplification, then when they were at the dungeon…

Li Yi was letting his imagination run wild as he stored his Mirror of Amplification.

“Continue on!”

Confused Fox broke down. “Bro! You’re my big bro. Please, I can’t go on. Ah, I’m going crazy!”

“We can’t take it any longer. It’s too depressing!”

“Guild Master, let’s take a break…”

The other nine party members were begging for mercy.

Li Yi was in shock.

“It’s so dark, so hard, so nerve-wracking. Don’t you feel just a little depressed?” Confused Fox looked at Li Yi with surprise. He really had to give it to his undying spirit in combat.

“Not at all. I feel good.” Li Yi was not bragging when he said this. In his past life, he once went solo in Remnants of the King for several months long. Remnants of the King was definitely more terrifying by a hundred folds than Eukana in Eternal Darkness mode.

After going through great upheavals and changes, how could he be afraid of this bit of darkness? This was Li Yi’s state of mind at the moment.

Confused Fox was shaking his head heavily. “I can’t do it. I swear, if we go for this boss again, I’m just gonna die here.”

“Same here…”

The party members were voicing out their concerns, not willing to attempt this dungeon any longer.

“Ding!”

Clan Master Jiaojiao sent him a voice message just as Li Yi was caught between tears and laughter.

“Lil Yi’zi, my mirror’s gone.”

“You can just buy another one. Your man has the money.”

“Not that mirror. It’s my Mirror of Amplification.”

“What?”

“Just then, that mirror disappeared from my backpack.”

Li Yi was gobsmacked. He took a look at the Mirror of Amplification in his backpack and smacked his own head.

He understood what had happened all at once. This thing was one of its kind. Although everyone has a chance to get it, there could only ever be one of it. No wonder clearing Eternal Darkness felt harder than before. This mode was similar to Remnants of the King in its record-breaking mode.

Everyone had a chance to obtain it, but there would only be one of it. In other words, anyone who last cleared Eternal Darkness would be the holder of Mirror of Amplification!

“Oh, I see. No wonder then.” Realization struck Li Yi.

“I declare the party to be disbanded!”

“Bro, say again?”

“Disband!”

Li Yi sent a message to Jiaojiao. “Pull us back!”

Although he still had a lot of Demoness’ Snake Hair, he was already in possession of Mirror of Amplification. Moreover, no matter how many times he was to clear the dungeon, there could only be one Mirror of Amplification. Hence, he was no longer interested in Demoness’ Ruins.

Back they go!

Swoosh swoosh swoosh!

The King’s Orderhad been released, and the party members clicked accept to return.

This time, they returned with triumph!

Jiaojiao was at Blade Peak Arena when she sent the King’s Order, so Li Yi and the rest were teleported back there.

The party was disbanded and apart from Li Yi, the rest of the players had logged off. They all needed to take a break to dispersed the nausea that came with battling Eternal Darkness.

Li Yi took a stroll around but did not find Jiaojiao, so he messaged her. “Whatcha doing?”

“I’m in the arena. I’m gonna take down the Season Championship!”

Li Yi paused and spent a few Gold Coins and selected follow mode to watch Invincible Jiaojiao in battle.

Jiaojiao battling out in the arena was something Li Yi would never have expected…

Back in the arena, Jiaojiao wielded Rune Greatsword with her two hands and swung it three times, taking down a Thief successfully.

Total victory!

Two words appeared in gold on the screen. Jiaojiao did not lose a drop of blood even after she had off her opponent…

“Lil Yi’zi, what do you think?” Miss Jiao was beaming with pride.

“You’ll be tortured.”

“Bah! Jealousy and envy will get you nowhere tonight!”

The scene changed and Jiaojiao was met with the next opponent.

Towering at five meters and spotting an ordinary face, Jiaojiao’s opponent was the Giant Paladin, A Bucket of Paste.

Li Yi was elated. “You’re gonna lose.”

“Are you saying I can’t defeat him? Care to place a bet?”

“Of course.”

“If you lose, how about sweeping the floor for a month?”

“Sure, but what if I win?”

“Whatever goes!” Miss Jiao was every inch a hero.

“Alright!”

“No, wait. You’re too perverted.” Miss Jiao immediately regretted her words.

“Humph, humph. You’re afraid of losing.” Li Yi provoked her.

“Bah, no way. Let’s just go with it. I’m not afraid!” Jiaojiao took the bait.

The countdown was over, and the battle had officially begun!

Jiaojiao let out a shout and reached a hand out at A Bucket of Paste. A streak of purple ray shot out of her palm.

“Death’s Grasp!”

“Holy Shield Spell!”

Just as the purple ray of Death’s Grasp was about to penetrate his body, A Bucket of Paste initiated Holy Shield Spell.

Ineffective!

This word emerged on A Bucket of Paste’s head. Jiaojiao’s Death’s Grasp had lost its effect!

A Bucket of Paste darted a few steps ahead, spreading his palms apart and amassing two flames of Holy Light to toss at Jiaojiao. This was a Paladin’s Repentance.

“Repent!”

Jiaojiao was half-kneeling on the ground, repenting…

Regular Repentance did no damages and the main function was to control the player. It would be effective for a minute. If no attack was initiated during this period, then the target would continue to repent until the minute was up.

“Silly, your Death’s Grasp came too early. You should let him cast Holy Shield Spell first.”

“What do you care!” Jiaojiao rebutted in a huff.

Li Yi cried out in alarm, “Uh oh, he’s gonna charge up with Holy Light Impact. You can’t escape it. You’re gonna be blinded.”

A Bucket of Paste added a few statuses on him before taking large strides ahead. It was as Li Yi had predicted, he was going to use Holy Light Impact against Jiaojiao.

Jiaojiao took another hit, and any attack received under the repenting state would remove entirely the state from the player. The repenting state might have disappeared, but Holy Light Impact had blinded her and she was currently experiencing a short-term blackout.

“Oh crap, Miss Jiao’s spinning round and round. A Bucket of Paste has raised his hammer. What is he up to? Could he be aiming for your head? He’s going for it, he’s going for it. He’s hitting you with Holy Light Trial!”

“Your father’s balls. Don’t try to distract me. Despicable, ruthless, dirty, lewd, ah…”

Judging by the chain of attack Jiaojiao suffered from A Bucket of Paste, things were looking really bad.

When A Bucket of Paste had reached his 7th combo, Jiaojiao could not bear it any longer and activated Immortal Body to cut his combo off.

Ineffective!

Break!

The combo characters were smashed to pieces. Jiaojiao swung her greatsword using a Mortal Strike move, smashing it hard at A Bucket of Paste’s tummy.

A Bucket of Paste was too tall. Jiaojiao seemed like a little child beside him.

Mortal Strike’s draining effect was 10% without Double Curse. With Double Curse, the draining effect would go up to 30%.

“Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit. He has damage-reversal equipment on. You’ll lose HP if you hit him. Mortal Strike may drain you some blood but it’s less than 1,000. It’s not worthwhile. You’re gonna lose the way you’re going at it…”

Jiaojiao was pissed. “Ah, if you distract me one more time. I’m gonna bite you, bite you, bite you!

“Undead Summon!”

Jiaojiao took a step back and stabbed her greatsword to the ground. A ghoul crawled out from the ground.

Undead Summon was a skill of a Level 90 Dark Paladin. One could summon a ghoul to battle alongside the master. This ghoul could only be around for a minute but the ghoul Jiaojiao summoned could last at least one hour because she had Lord Disaster in her hands.

Dark Paladin’s Undead Amy could also be unleashed in the arena, but it was limited to five minutes later. In fact, all classes’ major skills could only be unleashed five minutes later in the arena battles.

Although Undead Summon could only summon one ghoul, its overall ability was a lot more powerful than an Undead Army. The most obvious difference was the multiplied HP of the ghoul.

The ghoul Jiaojiao summoned this time had a prefix in its name. It was called Decadent Ghoul.

Different prefixes came with different ghoul abilities. The type of ghoul one summoned was completely random. Only God knew which type of ghoul one would get.

“Oh, I’m in pain. I’m so sad. I’m ditched by a woman. Oh, I’m in pain, I’m so sad…”

Decadent Ghoul was howling as it charged at A Bucket of Paste, scratching and gnawing.

Pft! Pft!

Decadent Ghoul was no exception as it suffered counter attacks when it struck A Bucket of Paste. However, it was then Decadent Ghoul’s specialty was brought to play.

“Tch, tch—”

A Silence icon appeared on top of A Bucket of Paste’s head. All his skills were disabled for 30 seconds.

“Oh, I’m in pain. I’m so sad. I’m ditched by a woman…”

Decadent Ghoul was still gnawing and clawing while Jiaojiao drew close to slam him with Double Curse and Mortal Strike to drain his blood!
