[BONUS]
White Unicorns valued their commanders and core members very much — that was for sure.
But Ren still wondered what was so special about Serine that she got a Dragon Birdbeak, which cost an astronomical sum of money. It was probably acquired through an auction, so other guilds probably coveted it for themselves too.
It might be part of her contract. Ren shrugged the matter off and concentrated on the matters at hand.
The Thunder King summoned [Hurricane Winds], making every mount that came near it get hurled away. All flying mounts had a difficult time weathering the storm, so most were flung away, including Serine.Even so, White Unicorns didn't stop attacking. And since the Thunder King's arms and legs were already incapacitated, the head and body were only left with weathering spells and [Voice of Thunder] as a primary source of attack.
The only problem they faced was Ren's play style. Every other minute, they would be surprised at the sudden wave of magical attacks that would come flying out of nowhere. Their team had to expand a considerable amount of brainpower to focus on his play style and their teamwork at the same time.
White Unicorns weren't used to Ren's play style. Because of their initial rejection of Ren, they were still unable to trust him, so they couldn't bring out their full potential.
Everyone was on alert, fearing that Ren would OT the aggro from Tanks, causing another incident similar to earlier to happen.
Based on how easily he had been able to steal the aggro earlier, he was certainly enough to cause another disturbance. He might do it out of spite or simply because he wanted his strategy to take place, so White Unicorns would have no choice but to pay him.
"Ren! Can you time your attacks with the others?" Erica shouted just to ease everyone's worry.
"Got it." Ren didn't mind. His job was to follow their orders and clear the dungeon — that was the agreement they had until White Unicorns was left with no choice but to use his strategy. He was not there for camaraderie. It put everyone slightly at ease but not totally. They were still alert for any kind of mishap.
Erica's role was Eric's personal White Mage. They were partners and worked hand and hand. Their sync was already a hundred percent. They could read each other's thoughts with just a look.
And, of course, the twins, the leaders of White Unicorns, wouldn't be the leaders if they didn't have superior equipment and rare spells and skills exclusive to them.
Using Serine's mount, Eric pushed through the front after the [Hurricane Winds] ceased. He was a [Swordsman], a balanced character that could wield a shield, as well as almost all of the melee weapons, even two-handed spear, sword, axe, hammer, morning star, etc.
And wielding a rare weapon called [Revenger], a two-handed weapon, Eric's damage was a far cry from the rest. Ditching his shield, his damage doubled with the two-handed sword.
With one blow, multiple strikes hit the Thunder King's Head, dishing out nearly a hundred damage per strike. Eric managed seven blows, his damage totaling nearly seven hundred. If not for the Thunder King's resistance to physical attacks, he would have ditched out more.
Ren was impressed. Eric must be the second-greatest physical damage dealer in COVENANT. Second to Ragnar, of course.
Erica, on the other hand, didn't lose to her brother. She acquired the rare spell [Bolt of Divinity] and [Angelic Chorus]. [Bolt of Divinity] was a spell that conjured a bolt of divine magic. With a single beam, she dished out at least four hundred in damage.
On the other hand, [Angelic Chorus] was an area heal that was more potent than [Cure Well] since it had an HP regeneration effect that lasted ten seconds at LV. 1.
White Unicorns thought that the hardest part was fighting the Thunder King with all its sections and that after killing its limbs came the easiest part.
However, when the Thunder King entered [Berserk Mode], bolts and bolts of lightning came hammering on the ground. It was an AoE damage where one bolt was enough to stun and cause damage in an area of ten square meters. With hundreds of bolts raining down, the entirety of White Unicorns was stunned.
Though the damage was minuscule, the STUN lasted one minute. Being stunned was like a death sentence to players. Once they were stunned, it would mean that the party would be annihilated soon.
And since no one expected what the Thunder King would do once it entered Berserk Mode, as no one had ever been close enough to decrease its HP, to begin with, everyone was caught off guard.
There was an item to cure Stone, but there was no item to cure STUN except for [Full Heal] and [Panacea], both of which were expensive. Even for White Unicorns, purchasing those items for their whole two hundred units was too much, especially after they used most of their money in fortifying their guild and customizing their equipment.
They also had to consider Ren's payment.
Among the group, only the commanders had such items in their inventory, and everyone else was simply betting for their White Mages to cure them.
Under the continuous thunder coming from above, chipping away their HP, it was only a matter of time before they were wiped out. They were so close to defeating the Giant, but it seemed that it was absorbing the electricity coming from above, making its HP slowly recover. It still has at least a hundred thousand HP, yet it has already entered Berserk Mode!
If they didn't get out from the rain of thunder now, then all their efforts would be for naught.
Erica was the first to recover. She needed to cure herself and heal the area of White Mages so they could cast [Cure Will] and [Dispel] the others as well.
But to Erica's horror, the Stun status coming from the Thunder King prevented them from even accessing their inventory!
At this rate, they were all going to die!
Erica bit her lip, wanting to prevent herself from screaming in indignation at the inevitable death. Not that she could scream, being stunned and all. The only thing she could move was her eyes, and she could only watch the horror that unfolded on the battlefield.
