MMORPG: Rebirth as an Alchemist

chapter-751
With a frustrated glare, Desira recovered from the temporary paralysis.
In a swift and furious motion, she lashed out at Bubbles.
The air cracked as Desira struck with deadly precision, and Bubbles, unable to evade the sudden attack, met its end in one shot.
"Bubbles!" Evie's shout echoed through the mist-laden air, but her pet was already recovering, relegated to her pet menu with just one HP left. It would take a grueling 24 hours for Bubbles to fully recuperate and could be summoned again.
"What happened?" Lorelai asked, her brow furrowed in confusion."It didn't get the key?" Elena voiced her bafflement, mirroring the sentiment shared by the rest of the captive group.
"Fools!" Desira's scathing voice cut through the air. "There is no key! This jail bends to my will! Didn't I mention that in the first place?"
Lorelai tilted her head to the side. "She did?"
Elena and Evie exchanged perplexed glances as they turned to Ren and the others for confirmation.
Ren closed his eyes and crossed his hands before clearing his throat and answered, "Ah, we don't know that there's no key," his tone collected, as if it were a minor detail.
Evie pursed her lips and shot Ren a disappointed look. Poor Bubbles, sacrificing itself for what turned out to be a fruitless endeavor.
"Well, there goes our chance to escape," Vivi sighed, voicing the collective disappointment of the group.Lorelai was quick to shift the blame, and pointed accusingly at Vivi. "Hoi, Vivi, you're supposed to be the one who knows about these things. Why didn't you tell us that there's no key?"
Vivi scratched her head awkwardly. "Ah . . . well . . . you were so convinced that there might be a key that I became convinced as well."
Elena was feeling defeated, and she slumped to the floor and lamented, "This is impossible. I'm surrounded by idiots."
"You're the idiot for getting ensnared in the trap!" Lorelai fired back.
"You got trapped in the first place!" Elena retorted.
Ren sighed, observing the familiar dynamic playing out before him. "Here we go again," he mused to himself, resigned to the fact that navigating through their differences might be more challenging than escaping Desira's domain.
"Hoi! Are you listening to me?" Desira's growl reverberated through the desolate landscape. "How dare you ignore me? I am the master of this domain, and whatever I say is the rule here! Do you think I would be so careless as to actually place the key in my clothes like some kind of a . . . a fool?!"
"They usually do it in the movies, though," Evie muttered under her breath, her voice barely audible amidst the tension.
"I don't care!" Desira snapped before she took a deep breath, attempting to regain composure. "Honestly, talking to you bunch makes me question whether surface dwellers are all idiots or what."
Lorelai shot a glance at Ren, Evie, and Elena, whispering, "She's insulting you guys."
"You're a surface dweller as well!" the three fired back.
"Enough of this!" Desira shouted, frustration evident in her voice as she strained her eyes to glare at Ren and the others.
The insults and banter seemed to be escalating, and Desira was becoming increasingly agitated by the defiance and perceived disrespect from her captives.
"You don't seem to realize the situation you're in right now," Desira said, a dangerous edge in her tone. "It appears I have to make you understand exactly what it is you're dealing with."
As Desira's frustration mounted, the air around Ren and the others suddenly underwent a chilling transformation.
An ominous energy began to permeate the previously stagnant atmosphere, turning it thick and suffocating.
The subtle shift went unnoticed until the air became almost tangible, pressing against their skin like a heavy, unseen force.
Simultaneously, Ren, Elena, Evie, Lorelai, Vivi, and Azazel felt an unusual stiffness in their bodies, as if time itself had decided to hold them captive.
Their limbs grew heavy, and their attempts to move were met with an unusual resistance. It was as if an invisible force had frozen them in place, rendering them helpless against the encroaching darkness.
Panic set in as they realized that not only were their movements restricted, but the oppressive air also carried an insidious poison.
The first tendrils of pain crept through their veins, signaling the onset of a venomous assault. Each breath felt like inhaling toxic fumes, and the slow, deliberate pace of their heartbeat only intensified the sense of impending doom.
"Ahahaha!" Desira's laughter echoed ominously, accompanied by a malevolent sneer. "How do you like me now? Still ignoring me, huh? In my domain, you can't escape the status effects I've bestowed upon you."
She straightened herself, her enormous breasts bouncing at her every move before she placed a finger over her luscious red lips. "But don't worry, I won't kill you. I'll only make you suffer until the corruption takes over your body!"
Ren and the others couldn't retort. The pain and paralysis rendered them incapable of thinking or even opening their mouths. They were currently being tormented to the point of speechlessness.
The paralysis effect deepened, extending beyond their physical constraints to a more insidious level. Their minds, clouded by the noxious air, struggled to focus, and coherent thoughts became elusive.
Attempts to cast spells or access magical items proved futile, as if the very fabric of magic itself had been severed.
Slowly but inevitably, the poison, paralysis, and exhaustion began to take hold.
Ren and the others groaned in agony as Desira stood by, reveling in their suffering with sinister laughter.
Lorelai gnashed her teeth together, shot a venomous glare at Desira. "I swear . . . once I escape from here, you're dead," she threatened through gritted teeth.
Desira only found amusement in Lorelai's defiance. "How cute. How do you plan to get out of here in my domain? Without my will, you can never escape from here. You're trapped before you even have the chance to comprehend what's happening, and once you're ensnared, there's no escape."
Her words dripped with a chilling confidence, emphasizing the dire predicament that Ren and the others found themselves in.
