" Please continue…. " Hades urged Max as he completely ignored Regus.

Listening to this comment, Regus felt the universe closing in around him as he noticed the evil smile on Max's face.

If Max was not truly a primordial vampire, then why would he let himself be arrested without protest?

Why would he not reveal this information to Regus when he confronted him personally in his chambers?

Why would he allow himself the humiliation of imprisonment and his good name to be tarnished if it was all bogus?

These were questions Regus previously wondered about, however, looking at the evil smile on Max's face it all became as clear as day as to why all this was happening.

Max was behind this from the start, he had planned this event from the moment he realised that his true identity was about to be exposed and he played Regus like a pawn on his chessboard.

They said that Shakuni was the greatest mastermind this universe had ever witnessed, however, at this moment Regus felt like that title should definitely belong to Max.

The arrest…..

The lobbying of universal support….

The proposal of forming a universal court…

The domestic support from the various Vampire Lord's…..

It was all beautifully crafted by Max to put pressure on Regus and force him to make a mistake by trying to negotiate with him.

His race not being a primordial vampire was an oversight on Regus's part, however, he had seen with his own eyes how the Sanguis behaved around Max and was certain that he was one of them.

Although he had not verified the information personally, he had assumed the ancient prophecy to be true and had made a fatal mistake in not being thorough! A mistake he was paying for dearly now.

However, there was no question in his mind that Max had set this all up.

The sly smile on his face right now was one that Regus recognised very well.

It was the smile of a victor that had lured the deer into the trap and was ready to kill it effortlessly.

Now, no matter how much Regus banged on the walls of the transparent isolated chambers, there was nothing he could do to stop Max from delivering the final blow.

" As I was saying, before I was so rudely interrupted by my liege, my true race is irrelevant to this case because even if my race was the alleged ' Primordial Vampire ' which it is not. King Regus had offered to pardon all my crimes and dismiss the charges as a demon hoax as long as I agreed to never set my eyes on the vampire throne.

He said ' As long as an Aurelius sits on the throne, ' I cannot challenge his rule or that of his descendants and if I obey this and sign a system contract with him, he would give my Bloodfall clan all the merit they deserved for their war contributions and decorate me as a hero.

If not then he would make sure to isolate us and tarnish my name " Max said as he smashed the big hammer all over Regus's reputation.

A few seconds passed but the universal queen did not oppose Max's words as being false which caused Hades to sigh deeply.

The god of death had truly hoped that the trial did not end so miserably, but unfortunately it did.

This last statement from Max really put the entire case to bed for him as now all that was pending for him was to pass the final judgement.

Max turned to Regus after absolutely shattering his reputation and smiled with a bright, kind and innocent smile towards the king which looked like the pure evil smile of Lucifer to Regus.

Regus gazed at Max with hazy eyes that weren't particularly focused on him.

This gave Max the impression that the king was in trauma and hence he decided to strike while the iron was hot and pointed towards his belly at the location where Regus was wearing the simulcast device.

As if shattering his reputation was not enough, Max had to rub it into Regus's face that the King was still live streaming at which point Regus realised that all his embarrassing behaviour had been witnessed by vampires all across the monarchy.

Regus picked the simulcast device and crushed it at once, ending the livestream as he gazed into Max's eyes with the calm gaze of a determined man who had nothing to lose anymore.

The worst had already come to pass for Regus Aurelius and now he was really thirsting for Max's blood.

Even with all his flaws, Regus was truly a noble and just king, however, having his worst side exposed like this really touched his reverse scale in the worst possible way.

He would have to deal with the fall-out from this mess, however, it was clear that the relationship between himself and Max would become irredeemable from this point forward.

Regardless of the Universal court's order, Max was not going to have an easy life living in the vampire society from this day forward, Regus was going to ensure that much.

*********

( Meanwhile back in Dombivli )

The cheers were loud and boisterous back inside the dombivli palace as their Lord has redeemed himself with no room for doubt or debate.

Asiva was moved to tears as she saw her own hardwork and that of Sebastian, Severus, Anna, Mira and the others being finally paid off.

It was clear from this event that Regus had suffered a big blow and that Max was about to gain unprecedented public support and sympathy going forward, however, while she was happy that everything worked out as Max had planned, she was more relieved to be thinking that he was finally going to come back home.

Although she could not hear the final verdict with Regus rudely breaking the live transmission device, Asiva could not see an outcome any longer where Max could lose this case.

However, just as she was having her moment of joy and had her guard dropped, a treacherous shaman god was slowly inching closer to her with intent to take her life.
