"Where are you getting that idea from?" Allowing the confusion from Mystia's words to subside, Valyr took in a deep breath to compose his thoughts before asking a set of question back. "What did I do for you to get to that conclusion?"

"To be honest, even I can't pinpoint exactly what made me come to that conclusion," replied Mystia, making Valyr inwardly frown. "However, what I'm sure of is that you give off the feeling that you'd be able to do it."

"Is it the fact that I taught you two how to purify Mystic Energy?" asked Valyr in response, letting the thoughts in his mind flow as he tried to find some sense in her words. "Or is it the fact that I immediately applied your words into practice and succeeded?"

"As I said, I can't pinpoint exactly what about you made me think that way," repeated Mystia once more, causing the young man to scratch the back of his head in response.

"So, a gut feeling," said the young man after some time, letting out a faint sigh. "Is it really that surprising that I concocted a batch of potions faster than usual?"

"After all, if you compare it to normal alchemy, Mystic Rune Alchemy looks far simpler in concept," continued Valyr. "Wouldn't it only make sense that it being simple leads to it being done faster?"

"I get what you're saying," said Mystia, with Marcus nodding in agreement. "I've also compared the two styles of alchemy in the past. Mystic Rune Alchemy has shown itself time and time again to be faster than conventional alchemy."

"However, even though it's faster than conventional alchemy, you've found a way to make it go even faster than the one who invented the style of alchemy in the first place."

Hearing those words, Mystia's explanation was finally beginning to make sense to the young man, especially after hearing what she said to him not long after.

"Not only that, but you've managed to concoct a batch of perfect Lesser Mana Rejuvenation Potions on your first shot at Mystic Rune Alchemy," Mystia told Valyr, the smile on her face gradually widening.

"Then again, that's not much in comparison when you realize you've concocted a batch of transcendent Lesser Mana Rejuvenation Potions on your second try."

Unsurprisingly, Valyr's eyes widened in surprise at those words, finally taking a look at the screen he'd brought up before he was dragged into their conversation.

[Lesser Mana Rejuvenation Potion] (Item)

Rarity: Common+

A vial filled with fluid that contains a surprisingly strong power to restore one's mana.

Made by someone who's beginning to expand their own understanding of alchemy, the person that created this potion utilized a special method involving otherworldly energy to reduce the amount of ingredients wasted during the concoction process.

The result is a potion that exhibits far greater potency than what was considered possible for the ingredients used.

Once consumed, this vial restores 17% of the user's max MP.

"17 percent..." With most of his attention wholly focused on the last line of the item's description, Valyr felt his mind go blank for a brief moment before snapping back to reality. Then, going over everything they've talked about so far, the young man shook his head as he looked at the two with a calm expression. "I could understand the part where it feels like this style of alchemy was made for me."

"But to bring this style of alchemy to greater heights? I don't even have enough experience in alchemy to do something like that."

"You don't have enough experience... yet," replied Mystia, emphasizing the last word with a faint smile. "In any case, let's move on from the topic."

"Not gonna lie, though we had two days left before the two of us needed to go back to Veldanyr, I was somewhat expecting you to take up the two entire days to grasp the basics of alchemy," said the woman, her smile somewhat apologetic.

"Yet, not even half a day after Marcus and I finally purified our Mystic Energy, not only were you able to grasp the basics of alchemy, but you were also able to apply it and make use of it in Mystic Rune Alchemy."

"I guess the only step left for me to say you've learned everything you need about alchemy for now is for Marcus to teach you the Rune part of Mystic Rune Alchemy." At these words, Mystia briefly glanced at Marcus, who looked back at her with a nod.

"Of course, I'll still you some more recipes after that, possibly even give you a book to covers all basic and intermediate potions."

"I'll have to thank you in advance, then," said Valyr in response, giving Mystia a thankful smile before shifting his gaze towards Marcus.

Looking back at Valyr in response, the man took in a deep breath as he sorted out his thoughts. "If I'm being honest, there's not much to teach you when it comes to the Rune part of Mystic Rune Alchemy."

"In fact, the rune only came about when Mystia asked me whether it was possible to concoct multiple batches of potions at the same time," continued the man, grabbing a batch of ingredients from Mystia's table before encapsulating it with his Mystic Energy.

Whoosh!

Showing to Valyr that he also knew how to utilize Mystic Rune Alchemy, Marcus soon took it one step further when he threw another batch of ingredients in the air.

With the man wrapping the new batch of ingredients in another cocoon of Mystic Energy, the young man expected a rune to appear above the two cocoons, recalling what Mystia had shown him earlier.

Yet, no rune appeared whatsoever.

"Back then, the amount of Mystic Energy Mystia could work with was so low that it was considered near impossible for her to work with two sets of ingredients at the same time," Marcus told Valyr, only to throw another batch of ingredients into the air.

With no rune continuing to manifest after he covered the most recent batch with a cocoon, the man continued. "Because of that, I decided to come up with a method that would reduce the difficulty of that task for her."

"Of course, just like how Mystic Rune Alchemy itself is simple, creating that method is also quite simple, considering how Mystic Energy accepts almost every purpose you give it."

"But yeah. That's why the rune was created."

"Anyways, with enough Mystic Energy and mental power, you could still work on the same number of batches Mystia showed you earlier at the same time without much problem," said the man, dispersing the cocoons as he collected the combined essence he created into vials. "In fact, the results of doing it that way usually yield higher quality potions, actually." "In any case, let me brief you in on how to create the rune before you try it yourself." Once he was done putting stoppers on all the vials he filled, Marcus gave the potions to Mystia before giving a quick yet concise rundown on the formation of the rune Mystia used while

concocting.

Trying to create the rune with Marcus' guidance after that, Valyr eventually tried to create the rune on his own after about 20 attempts, to great success.

Feeling like he now understood how to apply the rune in Mystic Rune Alchemy, the young man made his way to his table before throwing out three batches of ingredients into the air, all of them necessary to create Lesser Mana Rejuvenation Potions.

Whoosh!

Releasing Mystic Energy into the air after that, Valyr then swiftly covered the batches of ingredients in cocoons, only for him to redirect part of the Mystic Energy he released into a

space above the cocoons not long after.

Swoosh!

With him imposing his will on this part of his Mystic Energy, the young man then imbued a specific set of thoughts into it, allowing it to manifest as a rune that soon connected with the

cocoons he'd already formed.

Sensing the strain on his mind be cut in half after the rune connected with the three cocoons, Valyr finally understood why the rune was made in the first place, causing his eyes to glimmer with a bit of ambition as he tossed a few more batches of ingredients into the air. Then, just like before, he encapsulated all of them with Mystic Energy, only to then connect the newly created cocoons with the rune that alleviated its difficulty. Feeling that there was still a bit more leeway he could make use of, Valyr soon tossed one last batch of ingredients into the air before going through the same procedure he'd done with the

other batches.

In the end, a total of nine cocoons hovered in the air, all of which were connected to a rune that seemingly made them act like one entity.

With Valyr imbuing the thought of purification into the rune, the young man watched as the

rune sent out that thought to all nine cocoons at once, now truly understanding what got Mystic Rune Alchemy its name.

At the same time, both Marcus and Mystia looked at the sight before them with their mouths

agape.

"I think... we've finally figured out the reason why he's able to concoct potions faster than you with Mystic Energy." Taking in a deep breath to calm the excitement he was feeling, Marcus took one more look at the feat Valyr achieved before shifting his gaze with Mystia.

"I'm curious as to how he's trained it to that extent..."

"But he has far more mental power than even you do, Mystia."

"..."

"Are you trying to tell me that I'm dumb, Marcus?"
