chapter-1071
"Really?" At those words, Edward looked at Valyr with excitement, explaining to the latter he and Wells were on a short vacation from the frontlines. "Does that mean you'll be
accompanying us when we head back to the frontlines, then?"
Hearing the question, a slight hint of confusion appeared on the young man's face as he looked at Wells in the hopes for clarification.
Fortunately, his friend seemed more than eager to give him a greater understanding of the current situation, causing Valyr to click his tongue the moment Wells was done explaining.
"Damn. You're telling you two have been working hard for months already, yet you've only gotten a week of rest in exchange?""It could be worse." Wells bitterly chuckled in response to Valyr's question. "If not for the fact that Edward here became the captain of a 100-man group, we would probably still be stuck in the frontlines."
"Only people at that level and above could leave the frontlines for a considerable length of time, actually," continued Edward where Wells left off, giving Valyr a bitter smile of his own.
"In fact, the commander of our group only allowed me to bring Wells along since he was impressed with my performance."
"So, you're saying that I'll be stuck in the frontlines until I reach a similar rank as you?" Listening to how strict the frontlines were according to the two, Valyr had a slight frown on his face as the scenario popped in his mind.
At the same time, he felt guilt towards the two once more, their words making him realize that they'd gone through the same, if not a greater level of suffering than he did.
"Considering your current strength, probably not," replied Wells after a bit of silence, grabbing the meals that they've ordered from the inn. "As long as you have control over an Intent, you immediately become the captain of a 10-man group."
Giving the meal Valyr ordered to him, the man continued, "Plus, with how the Blacksmith Guild treat you, would those at the frontlines really treat you that poorly?"At those words, the young man went silent for a bit, pondering over his thoughts as he savored the food he'd been given.
Seeing Valyr go silent after Wells' words, the two decided to become silent as well, not wanting to interrupt the young man's thoughts as they dug into their meals.
By the time the three were satisfied with their breakfasts, it was only then did the silence among them finally break as Valyr opened his mouth.
"I'm not sure if this will work," said the young man as his gaze gradually became firm. "But I'll try to help your situations out once I'm at the frontlines."
"Don't know about changing the rules set there, but I could probably help you two take longer vacations than a week."
"Does that mean you'll be coming with us to the frontlines, then?" asked Wells, informing Valyr that they'd be leaving Algerie within half a week.
"Possibly," replied Valyr after careful thought. "Possibly not. It depends on how busy I get in the next few days, really."
At those words, the young man then gave the two a heads-up that he'd be leaving them tomorrow, telling them that he'd be meeting up with Julian and the directors of the Blacksmith Guild to talk about something.
Naturally, the two became curious as to what the young man would be talking about with them, to which Valyr merely smiled back at them in response.
After all, even though the mass production of the two items he had in mind only had an indirect effect to the woes of the two...
Having a great portion of the people at the frontlines armed with them would definitely allow Wells and Edward to rest for longer.
After succeeding in shifting the curiosity of the two away from the meeting he was going to attend, the three continued to talk about various topics, some of them involving the current state of the war against the orcs.
Of course, considering how Valyr was going to leave them for a meeting tomorrow, it went without saying that the two asked him if he had other plans beside that, wondering if today was the only day they'd be able to talk and interact with him.
In response, the young man replied that he'd mostly be free after the meeting, though he did remind the two that it was susceptible to change, considering his position in the Blacksmith Guild.
With that in mind, the two briefly looked at each other before coming to the decision of making the most of the time they had with Valyr for today...
By lazing around with him in their room.
Seeing as all Wells and Edward wanted to do for the entire week was rest after having tirelessly fought for months on end, Valyr let out a bit of laughter as he was reminded of his time in the Four Pillars' Inheritance.
Being reminded of one of his conversations with Julian because of it, the young man wrote a mental note about it to return to later on as he made his way to his part of the room.
Then, sitting cross-legged on his bed, he let out a long exhale before focusing his senses inward.
Whoosh!
Briefly checking to see if Wells and Edward were going to disturb him, the young man faintly let out a sigh of relief before slowly bringing himself to the depths of his psyche.
'If it wasn't for the meeting I needed to attend, I would've probably stayed for another day in the Mystic Plane to do this.'
Inwardly muttering these words to himself, the young man stared at the vast dark space in front of him before summoning all of the Prime Azure Energy he could muster.
'Then again, I only had a limited amount of time to improve my Mystic Energy as much as I could.'
'I think I improved it quite a lot, even.'
Breaking down the Prime Azure Energy into its most basic constituents, Valyr removed the lingering Void Energy and Intent from space, swiftly replacing it with the bright white energy
he'd just obtained.
Swoosh!
'In any case, the thought has lingered in my mind for long enough. There's already precedent that it's possible to do something similar, thus it's only right to find out its answer.' 'Then again, who knows what will happen if you mix mana and Mystic Energy together?'
