Looking at the series of notifications he had gained, Valyr instantly had a look of confusion on his face.

After a while, he slightly frowned. "Does the north quadrant leader have some sort of secret or something?"

"Is it carrying something that the other quadrant leaders don't have?" asked the young man to himself.

"Because I really want to know why it's the only quadrant leader I've fought so far that had me go through three phases."

As this thought began to linger in his mind, Valyr went ahead and searched through the quadrant leader's corpse for the memory fragment he needed to obtain.

By the time a couple minutes had passed, the young man had found the memory fragment jutting out of the quadrant leader's right thigh, mistaking it for bone at first before realizing what it really was.

Ding!

'That only leaves me with the south quadrant leader.' Briefly reading through the notifications he had received, Valyr stored the new memory fragment into his spatial bracelet before making his way to where he had summoned the boars.

In the meantime, he had told the boars through their connection to allow the primitive humanoids to roam free once more and convene to where he had summoned them.

'Is there any significance to the north quadrant leader? Or is it just because it was the first quadrant leader I killed out of the four?'

As he had obtained the memory fragment from the west quadrant leader's corpse, it was no surprise that Valyr returned his thoughts to the matter regarding the north quadrant leader.

After all, from how it looked so far, he would probably only have to fight against two phases when he came to face to face with the south quadrant leader.

Of course, there was also a chance for the south quadrant leader to have three phases, which would allow it to be similar to the north quadrant leader in nature.

Then again, as many people have mentioned, once was a chance, while twice was a coincidence.

If it happened three times in a row…

Then that something was no longer a coincidence.

It was now a pattern.

"Gork!"

"Gork! Gork! Gork!"

After arriving at where he had summoned the five boars, Valyr did not take long to hear the joyous snorts the boars were giving from far away.

Smiling at their appearance, Valyr took note of the fact that the boars had grown in size yet again, with the auras they were radiating now having a bit of heft to it.

Slightly raising his eyebrows at this discovery in surprise, the young man went ahead and identified one of the boars with his identification skill.

'What level have they reached through the XP from the two quadrant leaders anyway?'

Ding!

'I see.' Looking through the somewhat simple screen that appeared before his vision, Valyr's eyes briefly widened in surprise and glee as he nodded in understanding.

'So they're already in the middle of Rank 2.'

'Yeah… the third quadrant leader isn't enough to take them to the peak of Rank 2,' thought Valyr to himself not long after, dispelling the boars as he prepared to head to where he would fight his final opponent.

The south quadrant.

"[Traceless Slither]."

Whoosh!

Even though none of the movement speed boosting skills in his arsenal were activated, Valyr was still making his way to the south quadrant at fast speeds.

After all, the distance he had to cover was only half of what he needed to cover when he came from the east quadrant.

While making his way to the south quadrant through the city's periphery, the young man opened up the party chat once more, hoping to ask the four once again how they were faring against the trials the Gates of Awakening threw at them.

Surprisingly enough, after a bit of waiting, the four of them replied that they were stuck on the third trial.

According to their words, the trials the Gates of Awakening was not infinite.

At most, the maximum number of trials one could clear was nine trials.

Then again, from how the four were phrasing it to Valyr, achieving total completion of nine trials would allow him to obtain access to rewards that even Rank 5 beings would kill to obtain.

Nevertheless, with how few trials there were that barred one from obtaining the highest reward, the Gates of Awakening had set up the trials in a way that some of the trials acted as bottlenecks to reaching higher tiers of rewards.

At that point, Valyr more or less understood what was going on.

Deciding to save their conversation regarding the structure of the Gates of Awakening's trials for a later time, Valyr eventually arrived at the south quadrant, making a beeline towards the area where the south quadrant leader was.

Unlike in the east and west quadrant, Valyr decided to summon the boars first before heading to the top of one of the buildings, clearing out a nearby area in the process.

Then, without much fanfare, he commanded the empowered boars to do the same task they've done a couple of times now, witnessing the boars complete the task at far greater speeds.

In the meantime, he had armed the arquebus for firing, aiming the shot to land on the quadrant leader's forehead as he waited for the boars to finish the task he had given them.

After most of the area around the quadrant leader was deprived of its primitive humanoids, it was only then did Valyr make his move, empowering himself with the skills he had used in the earlier fights.

Bang!

'-191,845!!!'

With a clean and swift shot, the first phase of the south quadrant leader had ended before it began, prompting Valyr to head down from the building he was on and await the next phase of combat.

'Now that I think about it, I haven't used that skill yet.' Watching the quadrant leader recuperate its lost health through the barrier of mana that surrounded it, a thought popped up into Valyr's mind.

'Since this is the last quadrant leader I'll have to fight…'

'Why don't I go and use it?'

And so, as the quadrant leader rose from the ashes and appeared before Valyr with empowered strength…

So did Valyr.

"[Descent of the True Wyvern]."

Fwoosh!

With his stats reaching a state that rivaled the north quadrant leader's third phase, the fight between him and the south quadrant leader quickly turned into one-sided fight.

Even with the quadrant leader's Intent of Unified Will, as well as its access to both physical and magical attacks, all of them appeared fragile in front of Valyr's all-out onslaught.

Thud.

With a quick strike to its throat, the south quadrant leader eventually fell on its back before it could even retaliate, gazing at Valyr with murderous intent till its very last breath.

On the other hand, Valyr merely stared back at the quadrant leader with indifference, tightly gripping onto his spear until the quadrant leader breathed out its last.

'Haaa…' Obtaining a series of notifications that he had successfully the south quadrant leader, it was only then did Valyr loosen his grip over the spear.

'I guess there is something different about the north quadrant leader.'

Faintly shrugging his shoulders at the thought, Valyr then began to search every nook and cranny of the quadrant leader's body, wryly smiling after the skill's debuff began to take effect.

Nevertheless, that did not hinder the young man from finding the item he needed, grinning from ear to ear as he pulled out the memory fragment from the quadrant leader's throat.

'With this, I can finally obtain the answers I seek.'

Ding!
