MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

chapter-813
Staring at the man standing in front of him with a dumbfounded expression, Valyr eventually regained his wits as he asked a question.
"What are you doing here?"
"Pretty sure it's more than obvious," replied Vaughn, letting out a slight chuckle. "But just in case, I've been waiting for you to come here."
"For what reason?" asked Valyr back, tilting his head in slight confusion. "Plus, shouldn't our next meeting be in the Gates of Transcendence?"
From the long conversation he and Vaughn had at the barren spot, Valyr was led to believe that their next conversation would continue once he had entered at the Gates of Transcendence. After all, the man gave him the items and other prerequisites needed to enter the place.
Not only that, but the man had left him a couple statements that made him think that way, prompting him to think that he would only obtain the answers to his burning questions once he got there.
Nevertheless, with Vaughn having appeared before him once more, the gears in Valyr's mind began to madly turn once more as he tried to bring up all of the questions he had during their conversation that were left unanswered.
Though, before he could even have a single question of his entertained by the man before him, Vaughn stopped his train of thought in its tracks as he shook his head.
"I may be the sole owner of the Four Pillars' Inheritance, but now's not the time to continue where our conversation left off," said Vaughn with a faint sigh. "My time is limited this time around."
Unsurprisingly, Valyr began to frown at those words. "Then, for what purpose did you appear in front of me? Give me encouragement? Say a few words of support?"
"You know, those aren't bad ideas," replied Vaughn with a bit of laughter, only to stop as he noticed that Valyr's frown turned more grim.Sighing as he thought that the young man in front of him was no fun, the man told Valyr the real reason for his appearance.
"In any case, it's not for the reason you're thinking of. Instead, I'm here to make amends on a few things I've said during our previous conversation."
"Call it a little bit of outside help to aid in your dilemma."
With how cryptic Vaughn was talking, it went without saying that Valyr had become confused once more, replacing the deep frown that previously adorned his face.
Fortunately, rather than beat around the bush like in their previous conversation, the man was a bit more direct with his words this time around.
"Remember how I told you that your friends wouldn't be able to enter the Gates of Transcendence?" Vaughn looked at the young man.
"Yeah?" Valyr raised an eyebrow in response, his expression serious.
"I…" Twiddling his thumbs, Vaughn eventually found the words he wanted to say. "I may be able to help you with that."
At the very moment he heard those words, multiple thoughts coursed through Valyr's mind, the gears in his mind turning on overdrive.
In the end, they all converged into a singular thought, one that prompted the frown on his face to turn upside down.
'Hal and Vera could enter the Gates of Transcendence now?' thought the young man as he looked at Vaughn with widened eyes.
If that were to be the case, then there was no need for him to keep them in the dark about the entire situation.
All he needed to do was bend a few truths along the way, allowing them to realize that the path they had to take to get to the Gates of Transcendence was just a tad more lengthy than his own path.
However, recalling the conversation he had back at the barren spot with Vaughn, Valyr felt that the chances of that happening were low.
Especially if he had a quest that said only he could enter it.
Ding!

After having read through this quest's description while in the temporary camp, Valyr had utterly given up hope on having both Hal and Vera enter the Gates of Transcendence alongside him.
After all, if the owner of the inheritance himself said that only he could enter the inheritance, and the system itself had told him the same thing…
How would he make the impossible possible?
With that, Valyr took in a few deep breaths before looking at Vaughn with a bitter smile. "I'm guessing my friends still can't enter the Gates of Transcendence, huh."
Vaughn slowly shook his head. "Unfortunately not."
"However, as the sole owner of this inheritance, that doesn't mean I can't bend a few rules to have them obtain things that are of a similar level to what you'd get inside the Gates of Transcendence."
Seeing the man before him grin widely, the young man looked at him with both suspicion and curiosity. "What are you planning to do?"
"Just gonna make use of the system to accomplish a couple of things." Vaughn chuckled, only to turn around soon after.
"And this Hall of Legends and Myths here is going to help me in that regard."
