MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

chapter-857
Hearing the question that was directed at him, Valyr stared at the opened gateway for a bit, feeling the light that shrouded the other side envelop him for a brief moment.
Closing his eyes for a bit, he then looked at Vaughn and nodded before the two began to make their way to the place that existed on the other side of the entrance.
Recalling the mission he had obtained from Ryvrthe that he had yet to complete, Valyr picked up the two items that hadn't been absorbed by the gateway along the way and placed it back in his spatial bracelet.
Though he felt Vaughn stare at him for a bit as he did so, the young man continued to head towards the gateway as if it was nothing, leaving the former no choice but to push forward as well.
Whoosh! Whoosh!Eventually, the two finally made their way through the gateway, ending up in a place that formed an incredibly stark contrast to the two organizations Valyr had visited before.
'This… is the Gates of Transcendence?'
At the very moment they made it to the other side, Valyr fell speechless as he noticed that the area occupied by the place looked far smaller than the ones occupied by both the Gates of Enlightenment and Awakening.
Walking around the place to get a better idea of how much space there was, it did not take long for the young man to calculate that the area they were currently in was around a tenth of the space the Gates of Awakening occupied.
After walking around for a bit more, Valyr returned to Vaughn's side before asking the same question that first came to mind.
In response to the question, Vaughn let out a bitter chuckle. "This is indeed the Gates of Transcendence," said the man. "This is all there is to it."
Having an idea of what was going on in the young man's head, Vaughn continued. "Unlike the Gates of Enlightenment and the Gates of Awakening, the Gates of Transcendence is an organization that mostly exists in name.""In terms of where it's located, what you're seeing right now is all there is."
"However, the benefits one would obtain from entering the Gates of Transcendence are more than true." At these words, Vaughn faintly smiled.
"Is that so…" While listening to the man's explanation, Valyr began to look at the place in greater detail.
Though it was not as large and opulent as the two courtyards the Gates of Enlightenment and Awakening occupied, the Gates of Transcendence had its own kind of charm that made it stand out in a way.
Housing only a couple of buildings that were minimalistic in design, Valyr felt as if the buildings melded quite well with the entire atmosphere of the place.
With how there were multiple trees and shrubs all around the area, the young man thought of the Gates of Transcendence more as a secluded cabin in the woods than a place for one to obtain greater knowledge.
Seeing Vaughn make his way towards one of the buildings in the area, Valyr decided to follow the man, eventually finding himself sitting beside the man on the building's porch.
Gazing up at the sky, the young man felt that a new side to the Gates of Transcendence had been unlocked before him, causing him to close his eyes for a bit as he basked himself in the atmosphere the area gave off.
Chuckling in response, Vaughn also began to look up at the sky as well, feeling all of the thoughts that occupied his mind slowly drift away as the idyllic nature of the place got to him.
Of course, recalling the reasons why he had brought Valyr into this place, Vaughn swiftly snapped his mind back to reality as he looked at the young man before him.
"You know… this place is where this memory extension of mine usually stays whenever a group enters the inheritance."
Hearing those words, Valyr moved his attention away from the atmosphere as he looked at the man beside him.
Seeing that he had caught his attention, Vaughn inwardly smiled as he continued. "After all, why would one person need so much space like the courtyards the two other places occupy?"
"In any case, there are other reasons why I've chosen this place compared to the others."
"For one, the chances of information leaking out from here and into the outside world is significantly lower when compared to some place like the city ruins."
"As long as you know how to manipulate space and time, even obtaining items from the city ruins would be child's play." Vaughn shrugged his shoulders at the thought.
"Either way, there are instances where having a place like this is definitely useful."
"Such as the time when I finally decide to open my mouth all of a sudden and say that I've long known that you're a reincarnator."
"…?!"
Looking at the man with a cheeky grin with his face, Valyr's eyes briefly widened in surprise as he remained silent.
Of course, a vastly different situation was unfolding within his mind. To no one's surprise, multiple alarms in his mind began to blare without abandon as he was in a state of immense panic.
At that moment, multiple thoughts ran through his mind, causing him to question himself multiple times on how Vaughn had come to know of his existence as a reincarnator.
At the same time, he wondered how he had allowed Vaughn to know of his existence as a reincarnator, asking himself if there was any specific action he had done throughout his journey in the inheritance so far that made it obvious.
In the end, Valyr took a few minutes to finally respond to Vaughn's words, continuing to remain silent as he stared back at the latter.
Knowing what was going on in the young man's head, the man faintly shook his head. "If you're wondering if you sold yourself out at some point, that's not the case."
"I already knew about it ever since you five entered the inheritance." Vaughn let out a somewhat amused chuckle. "As a Greater God, a mismatched soul and body is more than obvious in front of me."
"But I must say that such a sign is slowly beginning to disappear." The man nodded in satisfaction. "As more and more time passes, it'll get more and more difficult for others to figure out your origins… save for the Primordials, probably."
"Anyways, how about we move onto your well-earned rewards…"
"My talented descendant?"
