921 A Sudden Visit

Algerie Kingdom, Spearman Guild.

"Alright. Let's stop our training here."

As those words came out of Noel's mouth, over a hundred people wielding spears let out a sigh of relief, immediately slumping to the ground as they got their rest.

Looking at their tired expressions, a faint smile gradually crept up Noel's lips as he affixed his spear to his back.

'It won't be long till their gaze carries a ferocious glint in combat,' thought the old man to himself, nodding in satisfaction at the progress the new batch of recruits were making.

Giving the recruits more time to rest than usual, Noel sat at a nearby chair and leaned on it, feeling a wave of relief wash over his back.

Though, not long after, the man soon sat straight up, his expression a slight frown as he brought up a screen before him.

Ding!

Looking through the screen, the frown on the old man's face deepened, his attention focused on a certain person's name.

"Valyr…" muttered Noel to himself, immediately taking notice that the young man had not responded to his latest set of messages yet.

Ever since he'd received news that Valyr had finally left the inheritance, Noel felt a bit of joy towards the young man, certain that the young man had benefited a lot from it.

However, that joy turned into disbelief once he read from one of Julian's messages that the young man had gained access to a peculiar energy called Azure Energy.

'Whether it's a coincidence or not, I have to check if it's connected to that person,' thought Noel as the memory came to mind, being reminded of a time early on in his journey to becoming a prominent figure when it came to Shadow Energy.

Recalling how he fervently begged in front of that divine being, only for the being to eventually take pity on him, Noel was incredibly curious as to whether or not Valyr had made contact with that person as well.

"Is he intentionally not responding to my messages?" Seeing that the couple of messages he sent an hour or so earlier had only been left on read, the frown on Noel's face deepened as he briefly scratched the back of his head.

"That's it. I've made up my mind." Making up his mind, Noel sent a series of messages to some of the staff members and elders of the Spearman Guild, giving them a heads-up on what he planned on doing.

Standing up from his chair, he retrieved the spear from his back, prompting all of the recruits before him to stand up as well and get into a battle stance.

Swinging his spear for the recruits to follow, Noel thought to himself, 'Once dawn breaks, I'll head to where Valyr is staying and confront him there.'

'That way, he wouldn't be able to avoid me.'

"Haah…"

Letting out a slight yawn, Valyr gradually got out of bed, getting the feeling that he'd slept longer than usual.

Giving his consciousness some time to rouse from its slumber, the young man soon brought up his status screen, only to find out that the exact opposite happened.

'Hmm?' Raising his eyebrow at the realization, Valyr immediately pushed such thoughts to the side as he went through his daily routine, considering his short sleep a good thing with how long he'd stayed awake this time around.

"Speaking of which, I should pay a visit to the Spearman Guild," Valyr reminded herself while in the shower, recalling the multiple messages he'd gotten from Noel about it.

"I wonder why?" asked the young man to himself after that, getting a strong hunch that it had something to do with Azure Energy.

However, he did not know whether Noel's intentions were to take a look at the Azure Energy, learn from him how to wield it, or ask him about the creator of the Azure Energy he was wielding.

'Well, I'll find that out sooner or later.' With that, the young man changed into a set of fresh clothes, double-checking if all of his personal equipment were in his spatial bracelet.

"Now that I think about it, I've already met the necessary conditions to push my Azure Energy to the Azure Echo stage," muttered the young man to himself as he mulled over the topic of Azure Energy for a bit more.

Making a mental note to improve his Azure Energy in the next few days, Valyr decided to get some breakfast from the inn before leaving, only for his train of thought to be interrupted by a series of knocks from the door.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Who could that be?" Valyr looked at the door in slight confusion, certain that he had not made any promises with other people to meet at his place these past few days.

Of course, the thought of Wells and Edward returning had also crossed his mind, prompting him to take a look at his chat function.

Though he had gotten an update from Wells that they had completed their task and were on their way back from orc territory, the man did not mention anything about them returning to Algerie this soon.

Thus, with slight trepidation, the young man mustered up the courage to open the door, only to be greeted by a face that he planned on seeing later in the day.

"Long time no see, Valyr." Before the young man opened the door, Noel initially sported a slight frown.

However, once he looked at Valyr directly in the eyes, that frown immediately turned into a faint smile, making the man seem like a caring old man.

"How have you been?" asked Noel, causing Valyr to look back at the former with a slightly apologetic smile.

"I've been doing well, Elder Noel," replied the young man, immediately apologizing for not being able to come to the Spearman Guild these past few days. "I was planning to head to the Spearman Guild later, actually."

"Oh, is that so?" At this point, Noel was all smiles, giving the young man a slightly unnerving feeling. "I presume you were gonna get some breakfast before heading to the guild, no?"

Hearing that, Valyr could only nod, wondering whether the old man before him was truly the Noel he knew.

"Come with me, then." Noel chuckled in response, turning around as he beckoned Valyr to follow him. "I haven't eaten any breakfast myself, so I'll treat you to some breakfast before we head to the guild."

Briefly scratching the back of his head, Valyr inwardly let out a sigh, nodding as he and Noel eventually left the inn.
