MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

chapter-941
Surprisingly, even though Sellifer spoke negatively about the old man's chances at successfully wielding Azure Energy, Noel was all smiles as he knelt on both legs in front of
her.
"Thank you!"
Shouting those words, the old man kowtowed in front of Sellifer once more without any shame, causing the latter to begin looking at him weirdly.
"I really don't understand why you're so adamant." Sellifer slightly shook her head at the sight, telling Noel to stand up not long after that. "After all, embracing the world of the Void and the Abyss has given you the ability to stand your ground even against Myths.""I've already mentioned it before, Divine One," said the old man as he stood up, his expression turning solemn. "Unlike Abyssal Energy, Azure Energy has a far higher ceiling, allowing me to reach greater heights of power."
"So, you're telling me that you think the world of the Abyss would only lead to a dead end?" asked Sellifer in response, raising her eyebrow at the man's words.
Seeing the old man nodded as if he were certain of his thoughts, the woman let out a faint sigh out of disappointment.
"I may not have dabbled in the world of the Void and the Abyss," said Sellifer after some time. "But just like any other path, reaching the end of it would allow you to achieve greater power."
"Especially if you were to embody the world of Chaos beyond the Abyss."
"If I could, I would've already done so, Divine One." Hearing Sellifer's words, Noel bitterly smiled. "Yet, even after toiling for so many decades, I've only begun to scratch the surface of the Abyss."
"Who knows how much more time I'd spend if I were to try and enter the deep chasm that is Chaos?"Listening to the conversation unfolding between the two, Valyr was reminded once more of the reason why he'd gone to the Spearman Guild back then, which was to obtain the Shadow Serpentine Lancer subclass.
Though his subclass had long deviated from the subclass he envisioned due to the choices and connections he'd made, he could still vividly remember the exact memory that made him trek his current path.
A player who'd obtained the Shadow Serpentine Lancer subclass was eventually able to ascend it to Mythic grade, wielding the concept of Chaos as a Chaos Serpentine Lancer.
And as a Chaos Serpentine Lancer, the power that player showed on the battlefield was nothing short of tyrannical.
'Well, there's not much point thinking about Chaos or the Chaos Serpentine Lancer subclass anymore,' thought Valyr to himself as the two continued to talk for a bit more.
'After all, if I were to think about it, my current subclass is only related to all of that because of the fact that Azure Energy is made with Shadow Energy.'
'Then again, it does make me wonder what kind of subclass Four Paths Azure Warlord would turn out if I were to raise it to Mythic grade.' The young man continued to dwell in his thoughts. 'Would it lean more towards the concept of war?'
'Or would it lean more towards the concept of the Four Azure Paths?'
'Now that I think about it... would it be possible to incorporate the higher forms of Shadow Energy into Azure Energy?' asked the young man to himself at some point, recalling the earlier conversation between Sellifer and Noel.
Continuing to think about how Sellifer mentioned that fusing mana and Void Energy together to form Azure Energy was near impossible, Valyr began to think about it from another perspective.
'I wonder if I only need to change the approach in fusing those energies,' muttered the young man to himself inwardly. 'Perhaps one would need to form Azure Energy first before transforming Shadow Energy into Void Energy.'
'Would it become successful if that were the case?'
Though this question lingered in the young man's mind for quite some time, Valyr was forced to shelf the thought for the meantime as the conversation between the two had come to an end.
Hearing Sellifer ask Noel to leave the two of them alone for the meantime, a bunch of questions began to form in Valyr's mind as he watched the old man swiftly accede to the request.
"Thank you, Valyr." Though, before Noel truly left the two alone, the old man made the effort to show his immense gratitude to him, knowing fully that the young man's earlier suggestion was key in making the current situation possible.
"I promise you that helping this old man out will definitely be worth your while."
After saying those words, the old man then delved deeper into the forest, leaving both Sellifer and Valyr in the center of the clearing Sellifer inadvertently made.
Nevertheless, it was only after Sellifer was certain that Noel was far enough from the two of them that she began to ask Valyr what was on her mind.
"So, what made you decide to help that old man in achieving his goals?"
"You've already heard it from the two of us," she continued, her expression that of slight annoyance.
"He begged me to no end to teach him how to wield Azure Energy. I only acquiesced in giving him the purification methods to him since he wouldn't have left me alone if I didn't."
"I'm not sure if it was weeks or months of constant begging, but he always followed me and pestered me while I was in the Shadow Plane, just so I could teach him Azure Energy."
"I'll ask you once more, Valyr. What made you think about helping him out?" asked Sellifer, looking directly into the young man's eyes with a calm expression. "I hope you have a good answer."
Feeling a hint of remorse from the fact that Noel went to those lengths to get what he wanted, Valyr took in a deep breath as he contemplated over an answer that would satisfy the woman
before him.
"Well, first and foremost, I'm not expecting you to forgive Elder Noel for his actions in the past," said Valyr. "Something like that shouldn't have even happened in the first place." "However, the main reason why I decide to throw that suggestion out there is quite simple." Saying those words, the young man smiled.
"I wouldn't have learned Shadow Energy if not for him."
"My aura wouldn't have resonated with your Azure Serpent Staff if not for him teaching me the concept of Shadow Energy in the first place," continued Valyr. "The discovery of the Sign and Echo level wouldn't have happened if not for him."
"In other words, you're telling me indirectly to reward him for the fact that he brought you to me?" At those words, Sellifer slightly frowned.
"I admit that the concept of entangling Azure Energy with the four elements would have taken a long time to appear if not for you."
"However, it was only a matter of time for the Sign and Echo level to appear at some point," said the woman. "It was purely through the intersection of multiple fates that you were the
one that discovered it."
"But that doesn't change the fact that I was the one who discovered it," said Valyr in
response, continuing to sport a faint smile.
Hearing that, Sellifer let out a faint sigh.
Letting out a slight chuckle in response to the sigh, the young man continued to persuade Sellifer. "As I said before, you wouldn't lose out in helping Elder Noel learn how to wield
Azure Energy."
"Whether he becomes successful in wielding it or not, he'd still end up becoming stronger, increasing humanity's chances of becoming victorious in their war against the orcs." "Though I keep up with what's happening in Veldanyr from time to time, there really isn't a reason for me to care about the war between the humans and the orcs," said Sellifer in
response to Valyr's words. "After all, I'm a native of the Shadow Plane first."
"However, with Veldanyr being the place where it finally allowed me to become who I
currently am... I really can't maintain indifference."
"You've won me over, Valyr," said the woman after that, only to let out a chuckle soon after. "How does it feel to win an argument against a Divine-level being?"
"Feels like I've just survived a war," replied the young man, causing the two to laugh for a bit
more before returning to their conversation.
"In any case, I'll keep my word." Returning her level of strength to what it was before, Sellifer
took in a deep breath before looking back at Valyr.
"But before that, I'll help you ascend your Azure Energy to the Echo level first."
"Wouldn't it take a long time?" asked Valyr in response. "After all, it took me two years to
finally form Azure Energy. And that was just the Sign level."
"It surprisingly takes far less time for you to ascend your Azure Energy to the next level once you've already formed it," replied Sellifer.
"We both know that it took me a long time to finally form Azure Energy... over a century or so
as far as I remember."
"However, raising Azure Energy from the Trace to the Wisp level only took months in
comparison."
Smiling as she said those words, Sellifer then released a bit of her Azure Energy before using
it to make Valyr sit on the ground.
"Now, cross those legs and close your eyes."
"It's time for you to form a deeper bond with your Azure Energy."
"...Not in that way, of course."
