Just as Jiang Fei was still frowning over the Epic tier pet egg in his hands, a loud chime blasted away, and a global announcement popped up in his visual feed. At that moment, a 10-minute countdown timer appeared in all the player’s U.I. Jiang Fei jumped to his feet in shock. 10 minutes was too short of a time to immediately decide what to do with the egg!

“WTF! The raid is almost done, but the devs want to carry out an immediate game patch!?”

“Phew. It’s just the right time. I’m heading back to town to restock my potions anyway!”

“Yay! New content! I wonder what it is! I think it might be PvP-related, based on the name!”

“PvP! It’s about damn time! I’m getting the itch to punch you in the face!”

Everyone’s reaction to the sudden announcement varied rather widely. Some of them were excited for the new content, while others were annoyed especially when they were in the middle of a dungeon run. Jiang Fei was one of those who had been rudely interrupted. The current game content was hardly any trouble for Jiang Fei to clear. He had the confidence to be in that state of mind, with Isabella to back him up. However, his individual strength was not to be looked down upon. He had already cleared many hard bosses and already found the game to be boring.

As the news was released, Jiang Fei was left feeling frustrated, robbed of the time meant to use the Territory Order and build his land. A setback that spanned over three days would most definitely hinder his progress.

“Sigh…” Jiang Fei now regretted hesitating. There was really nothing he could do then. After storing the eggs in his inventory, Jiang Fei teleported back to the main city and chatted with the rest of the guild members while waiting for the server to forcefully kick them out of the game. 10 minutes passed swiftly, and when Jiang Fei was just about to crack a joke, everyone was forcefully logged out.

“Tsk.” Jiang Fei clicked his tongue. It was only three in the morning, and he could not get back to sleep! In fact, almost everyone who was forcefully logged out of the game had suffered the same fate. Everyone who played the game had already gotten used to having their bodies locked in deep sleep. Since it was a completely different experience from sleeping naturally, everyone had gotten used to waking up fully rested. As a result, no one could get back to sleep.

Since Jiang Fei had a few hours of sleep at the very least, he started to think about matters related to the Zhang family. When Zhang Yangxu had met him face to face, he meant well, even though his methods were slightly unorthodox.

Even though Jiang Fei had been mistaken for a Level 4 Metahuman, he knew very well where his strength was. The Zhangs were not in need for any superpowered metahumans for the moment, but since the world had gotten so advanced, they could not stand idly by, allowing Jiang Fei to pick a side. Jiang Fei wanted so badly, to use the privilege of a Level 4 Metahuman, hence, he could not simply engage with anyone casually. If his real capabilities were exposed, trouble would only come to him and no one else.

Ever since Han Tianyu had believed Jiang Fei to be a powerful Metahuman, he had made contact with all the named families and had informed them about the existence of Jiang Fei. He had already gotten used to how oblivious Jiang Fei was when it came to all these “upper class” matters.

Via Han Tianyu’s introduction, Jiang Fei realized that Zhang and Han were only second-rate names among the other named families. In the eyes of the plebeians of China, they were thought to be the best. However, due to the existence of metahumans, those without the support of the metahumans could only be considered second-rate. The Han family was slightly different. Due to Han Tianyu being a martial art genius, he had been able to creep into the rankings of the so-called “first class” family. In reality, to be part of the top, he might have to wait for more than ten years to reach the strength of a Level 3 Metahuman.

After he had a certain level of understanding concerning family statuses, Jiang Fei now understood how the world turned around. At that moment, he could not help but feel a little apprehensive, yet excited at the same time.

After breakfast, Jiang Fei finally got the chance to return to school. However, after the encounter with the Metahumans, Jiang Fei felt like school life was just too dull. Just like Han Tianyu had said to him, schools had nothing noteworthy to offer to him. Only foreign language class seemed to give him some benefits. The only problem he had with school was that the lessons took the pace of a snail.

“No wonder that bloody wanker would not go to school!” said Jiang Fei to himself as he stared blankly at the board.

With another day wasted in school, Jiang Fei went back home, glad that he had finally realized the futility in attending school. Just as he took the same path back to Manda Square, he felt a presence following him. He stopped his track and sighed testily.

“Haven’t had enough? Come on man… Just what did I do to have this luck?”

“Hohoho… Little one. You’re still too young to sigh like that.”

The familiar voice of and an old man hissed around the corner of the route. Old man Hai came out and revealed himself to Jiang Fei.

“Oh! Well well, if it isn’t Old Hai!” Jiang Fei rushed to Old Hai and greeted him respectfully. He had expected more pesky urchins like the ones from yesterday.

“You did well detecting my presence. I’m here to tell you something. Remember the time I requested for a friendly spar with your master? Well, after this old man has thought it through, it is best not to cross fists with your master…” said Old Hai awkwardly.

“Huh? You don’t want to fight now? Last I heard, he was fairly interested in the match! He was just about to make some free time for it!” said Jiang Fei. Since Old Hai had retreated, Jiang Fei did not miss the chance to attack.

“Cough… Cough… Please. Do not jest with this old man. I’m fairly busy myself. In fact, I don’t think that I even have the time for a brawl for the next 5 years or so…”

Jiang Fei’s sudden comment sent cold sweat down Old Hai’s brow.

“Well… It can’t be helped, then. I’ll inform my master about the fight being called off. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind it at all!”

Jiang Fei knew when to back off as well. If Old Hai was forced into a corner, he might actually have to fight him off!

“Thank you for your time, young Fei!”

The old man nodded and thanked Jiang Fei. It was a miracle for Jiang Fei to witness the old man being so courteous with him. The truth was the fact that Old Hai had learned the “truth” about Jiang Fei being a Level 4 Metahuman.

“Is that all? I’ll take my leave now,” said Jiang Fei as he immediately turned away. He did not want to linger around Old Hai. Especially when there was no such thing as a Level 4 Metahuman in the vicinity.

“Hold your horses, young one. I have another matter to ask. You see, I’m here as a representative of the China Martial Art Alliance, and I’m here to invite you to be one of us. If your master wishes to grace us with his presence, that would be delightful!” said the old man with a smirk on his face. Apparently, that was his real motive!
