Chapter 490: Modifying the Giant Flying Sword
“0541, analyze this situation,” said Jiang Fei. He had sat down on the living room couch for half the night. There was no way he could go to sleep. At last, he thought of something and asked the ring to help him.
“Based on the data collected, the situation is not leaning to your side. You might not survive,” said 0541.
“Survive? I don’t care about that now. I want my parents back. Tell me if I can save my parents!” said Jiang Fei.
“There is a 40% chance of success,” said the ring.“That’s more than enough,” said Jiang Fei as he gritted his teeth. The higher the risk, the better the reward. He had always been playing with fate and this time, it was about his parents. He did not care about himself as he would always get back to his feet. Right now, the priority was his parents.
“Captain, might I provide a few suggestions. A resupply is needed,” said 0541 as it had determined that Jiang Fei will go on with his plan to rescue his parents.
“I appreciate every help that you can provide. Let’s go,” said Jiang Fei. He then left his house and Manda Square.
When he made sure no one was in sight, Jiang Fei took out his Gigantic Sword and activated it.
“Where am I going?”
“I have set the coordinates into the hoverboard,” said 0541.
“Alright,” Jiang Fei nodded and held on to the board as it traveled toward the west. The board was flying extremely fast. The city that Jiang Fei had lived in were trails of light that disappeared from sight in mere seconds. After a short moment, Jiang Fei had arrived at a small desolated desert.
“Here?” said Jiang Fei.
“Yes. Although the entrance has not yet been identified, there is a facility 300 meters right below us,” said 0541.
“Alright, let’s go in then,” said Jiang Fei. He then controlled the hoverboard and landed on the ground. As soon as he touched the ground, 0541 activated the cloaking system and turned Jiang Fei invisible.
“Search for the entrance,” said Jiang Fei as he put away the giant sword that was the hoverboard.
“Locating…”
Jiang Fei was not too far from the city as he was right on top of one of the secret facilities belonging to the Zhang family. This place was only several kilometers away from the facility that Zhang Yangxu had brought Jiang Fei to once upon a time.
Jiang Fei’s current objective was to take back all weaponry that had once belonged to the Braveheart ship. In his previous visits, Jiang Fei had no interest in the weapons for two reasons. The first being 0541 had been in a hibernation state and the second was the fact that he was only interested in ship factories, ship fragments, and energy sources.
Right at this moment, Jiang Fei needed every little upgrade that he could get his hands on. Ship fragments were placed aside. Even though Han Tianyu had one larger piece of the ship fragment right under Manda Square that was the Entertainment module with so much data stored, Jiang Fei did not want it since he did not want to create an army. Currently, the one that the Zhang family had was the military standard weaponry, the one that Jiang Fei needed right now.
“The entrance has been located,” said 0541 after 5 minutes. The ring then fed the information to Jiang Fei telepathically and led him toward the side of a tiny hill measuring at only 2 to 3 meters tall. If one did not look hard enough, one would not be able to find the door since it was well-camouflaged.
“Break in,” said Jiang Fei. The security console on the side of the entrance was no match for 0541’s hacking capability. In less than a second, the security was overridden and the door was opened. After Jiang Fei entered, 0541 closed the door behind him to prevent anyone from noticing their presence.
Since Jiang Fei was cloaking, the security cameras in the entrance could not detect anything. The Zhang family were no one when compared to the Metahuman society. The family had only very few weak Metahumans hired as their muscle and their security personnel were all normal humans. The technology they possessed, even at their best, were nothing but human designed. Only their weapons were stronger since they were copies of the ship’s weaponry.
Jiang Fei followed 0541’s directions and walked through several dark corridors before reaching the main weapon storage facility.
“Hm. That’s a lot of weapons,” said Jiang Fei as he saw just how many weapons the Zhang family had produced.
Even though he had seen the weapons that Zhang Yangxu had showed him, it was not of alien tech. They were numerous. However, upon closer inspection, Jiang Fei was glad that the Zhang family had only managed to start learning about making clones of the alien weapons.
“The Zhang family had only managed to grasp the technology behind the simple sidearms. Heavy artillery was still far from being analyzed and reverse engineered. The main problem they had always faced was the power supply as well as the stronger parts,” said 0541.
The situation was as follows. The Zhang family was only able to make lower quality duplicates of the alien weapons. Many parts of the gun could not sustain the massive firepower. Hence, to match the building quality of the firearm, they had to increase the size of the weapons whilst reducing the output power. Many of the larger Heavy Artillery were unable to be reproduce due to the sheer power output as well as materials needed were not available at current times.
Their greatest accomplishments were only the rifle and the gun. There were other smaller weapons such as portable cannons and short round bazookas. They were alien technologies and could not yet be analyzed. Only after they had made a breakthrough in higher efficient power supplies would they be able to make copies of the aforementioned weapons.
“This armory has an array of personal weapons. Armor piercing light cannons, energy pulse cannons, high energy laser guns…”
0541 sounded surprised. Or rather impressed.
“Take the heavy artillery and leave the smaller weapons to the Zhangs,” said Jiang Fei after he had a good look at the weapons. 0541 then proceeded to store the weapons that matched Jiang Fei’s orders. Even though they were called heavy artillery, they were not bigger than women’s lipstick. That was how advanced the technologies of planet Namek and how overwhelming the Zhang family was.
As soon as Jiang Fei had finished loading up the weapons, the alarm blared. The entire storage room started flashing in red. Even though Jiang Fei had always been cloaking, the removal of the heavy artillery had triggered a change in movement which tripped the alarm.
“Time to disappear!” said Jiang Fei as he hastened. He had no beef with the Zhang family but he really needed to use the weapons. The previous trouble that the Zhang family had caused on his family was settled with Zhang Yangxu himself. That was why Jiang Fei did not want them to know that it was him who had stolen the weapons. He did not want bloodshed, even if he really wanted to see red right now.
In no time at all, Jiang Fei had taken all the heavy artillery and ran out of the weapon’s storage.
“What’s going on?!”
“Not sure. From what I can see, the alien weapons are gone!”
“Send someone to check! There’s no way the weapons could just disappear into thin air!”
The men in-charge panicked. It was only natural. If the weapons were really gone, it would be on their heads.
While the storage workers were busy searching, Jiang Fei had left the facility. There were no powerful martial artists nor sensitive Metahumans or biologically modified beings that could detect his presence. With 0541’s cloaking tech, Jiang Fei had become a true ghost, coming in and out without a trail.
With the weapons in hand, Jiang Fei flew across the sky with the hoverboard and landed somewhere without a soul in sight.
“Start what you need to do,” said Jiang Fei.
“Yes, sir. Modification in progress. E.T.A 4 hours,” said 0541.
Everything that Jiang Fei had just done a few moments was suggested by 0541. It had suggested to Jiang Fei to upgrade the hoverboard to install weapons. To do that, Jiang Fei would need to locate Namek’s weaponry to be installed on the sword. Right now, 0541 could not produce any military grade construct without the Weapon’s Factory part of the ship. At most, he could combine and modify existing products.
