chapter-2569
"Careful about the yisle diar; it is releasing the hallucinogenic poison," I informed Rai, who is close to the plant.
He nodded and became more cautious; several seconds later, when the invisible poison reached him, it began to burn before it could touch him.
It had been six hours since we had entered the poison region and now are quite close to the center of the region. The poison energy is thick, but we are dealing with our own methods; we have more than enough abilities to deal with the poison.
We have to fight against the Grimm Poisonmasters for more than ten thousand years and learn how to deal with them. While this poison is different than what the Grimms used, most of our methods are still capable of countering it.
Hun!Ten minutes passed when I suddenly stopped from the harvest with a frown on my face. For the past few minutes, I have been sensing the invisible threat I had tried to find but did not see, even doubting myself whether I had imagined it.
I did not; I have finally caught a glimpse of it, and it is real; even though I don't know what it is due to it disappearing too fast, I know this threat is very real and very dangerous.
"What is it?" asked Lady Atkins as she caught the worried frown on my face. "There is something very dangerous lingering around us; I think we should retreat," I said.
"Ok,"
They replied in unison without any hesitation.
Our weapons appeared in our hands, and we began to make a retreat; our speed was neither slow nor fast. That whatever it is, not the only threat to this place; there are many other threats that are present here, which are stopping us from making a direct run.
Thirteen minutes passed, and we are making a smooth retreat, as smooth as we could make in this place, and in half an hour more, we will reach the end of this domain, where no danger of this place will be able to touch us."Are you still sensing it?" asked Rai, and I nodded. I did not tell him that the feeling had become even more intense than before.
Even though we are retreating, I feel like we are walking deeper and deeper into its trap, and the most frustrating thing is that I could not do anything else. I could not stop retreating and wait for it to come out; my instinct would not let that happen, nor did I think it was a wise choice.
The closer we are to the exit, the better; even if this thing is far more powerful than us, all of us have trump cards that will buy us a few seconds as we make the run, so we need to be as close to exit as possible.
Rustle Rustle Rustle
A few more minutes passed when suddenly, the silent poisonous forest began to rustle around us. There is no air, but the trees are rustling as welcoming something.
Seeing that, we looked at each other and decided to make the run for our greatest speed; we had already walked out of the most dangerous area; though running away like crazy have dangerous, I think we would be able to deal with them with our abilities.
Hun!
The decision was made in an instant, and we began to run when we stopped a fraction of a second later, as the thing had revealed itself and was something beyond our imagination.
Dhub Dhub Dhub
The earth blasted around us, and from it, thick vines, there were tens of them, but within a second, they had turned a hundred and continued increasing till I could sense a total of three hundred and forty-two vines surrounding us total.
The vine is brown in color and nearly dry; it looks like it is in the last stages, but its aura says the opposite. It is strong and exuberant, filled with life, especially those dense crystals that could be seen around the vine.
The vines had just come out when another change began to occur in them; flowers began to grow on the vines, covering every surface of the vines till all one could see the flowers.
"Be careful of the flowers," warned lady Atkins.
The flowers are truly beautiful; they are freesia flowers in pink colors; they looked truly beautiful and now releasing their fragrance. I sealed my whole armor, breathing not even a speck of it; I did not want to take any risk.
"We will resume our retreat; if this vine dares to stop, we will cut it apart to make the way," said Rai, and we resumed our retreat.
Sup Sup Sup
We had just moved our feet up when the vines reacted; around fifty of them came at us with the speed that made my eyes go wide.
"First Burst!"
I activated without hesitation and poured that immense power into my sword, changing the enchantment of sharpness and weight before shot toward the coming vines. I plan to cut them all before making my way toward the exit.
BANG!
My sword clashed against the vine, and I heard the sound I had heard, the sound I had least expected to hear.
My roaring attack not only failed to cut the vine but was also unable to scratch it, and now I am flying back with the great power, while several vines are following behind me, and seeing their speed, they would catch me before hitting the ground.
I could not let that happen, a single attack from the single vine had proved how horrifyingly powerful these vines are, and I couldn't let myself get caught in them. Once I do, it will be a game over for me, and not even my biggest trump cards will be able to save me.
So, I controlled the shock in my heart forcefully and activated a couple of formations in my armor; just as I did, I felt shocked over my body as my direction was forcefully diverted.
