chapter-2946-30041322
I appeared in the central command and saw the Supreme Commander and others looking at the screen, which had footage of a lot of lakes.
"Landen Lakefield," I said, and Supreme Commander nodded.
Her expressions were serious but not as serious as they wouldn't have been if I had told her what the old snake had said to me last time.
I had not told anyone, not even Marina or any Grand Lords, as there was not much they could do other than worry.
Telling them would have made them keep me Pyramid, and I don't want that; only I could deal with the old snake effectively. They could not deal with it, even with the measures I have put inside them, as the measures would fail if the old snake noticed what they were, and seeing how intelligent this bastard is, it wouldn't take long to notice them.
"I am going," I said.
Buzz!
"Be careful," said Supreme Commander; I nodded, and a moment later, the formation buzzed under my feet, and I had disappeared.
A few seconds later, I appeared at the other end, and below me were hundreds of beautiful blue lakes. There is a high chance this beautiful place will get utterly destroyed today.
"You came," said the old snake as it materialized a few hundred meters away from me. "What, you didn't think I would not?" I asked, to which it shook its head.
"No, I truly did not; after I had said to you last time. I didn't think the humans would let their brightest come fight against me," it said. "We are not cowards like you, Grimms," I replied, and hearing that the smile on its face became brighter."Rather, you had not told them what I had said," it said, with that despicable smile on its face.
"Did it matter since I had come," I said, putting a little more anger in my voice? "No, it did not." It said with a shake of its head.
"So, you have prepared what you were going to prepare to kill me?" I asked, hearing that the smile on its face became bigger. "Yes, I did, and with the things I have traded with you, my chances of success improved tremendously."
"Earlier, it was going to be a gamble; there was some chance I might fail, but now, with your help, there is no way I will fail," it said, forking its tongue out.
"Many people have said these words to me, but they are all failed; some, like your pet, had even lost their lives," I said back and could see a flash of anger appearing in its eyes before it disappeared.
"You will know soon how right I am," it said, and a crystalline bottle appeared in its hands, containing blood red.
Seeing the glass bottle, all the hairs on my body stood up, and I wanted to run so badly, but I controlled my emotions and asked both of my clones to be ready.
This is going to be very dangerous; I might even lose my life if I am not being careful.
Gulp!
"Zaar, you will die today but will also live through me," said the old snake and gulped down the solution in the bottle in a single gulp.
A second after it drank the potions, its eyes bulged and became blood-red from crimson; at the same time, its scales began to change color rapidly, turning blood-red as its eyes.
Looking at it felt like it had come bathing in the blood.
"It is bloody painful, but everything will be worth it after I consume you," said the old snake with gritted teeth and a smile before a formation appeared on its body.
The formation is in the Grimm script and is black as night, and soon, it covers every inch of its body, making it look quite ominous.
Buzz!
"I am taking a huge risk Zaar, but I am confident I will succeed," it roared as the formation covering its body activated, and the moment it did, my expression couldn't change as I sensed the energies from the old snake, that made me take a step back unconsciously.
I sensed a divine energy, and it was not just it but also above the limit element, and it seemed to burn with a huge amount of divine energy.
It channeled the energy created through the burn into the formation for a very dangerous purpose, which made me feel that I should run away as soon as possible as I might not get another chance to do it.
Still, I remained in my spot; the old snake had become very dangerous, and if I ran away, it might target them, and I don't think, aside from Matron, who is fighting Rhaek, anyone could deal with this bastard.
Crack Crack Crack
For nearly a minute, nothing had happened; the formation kept shining before finally something happened, and it couldn't help but surprise me.
The cracks begin to appear on its body, and these are not small cracks but big one that runs deep, and it is appeared everywhere, including its face.
There is a huge crack covering its face, showing even inside of it has solidified.
It looked horrified with cracks, and if I did not know it had done that to itself, I would have thought it had been hit by some dangerous attack or its own curse had backfired on it, but it is nothing of that sort; everything is intentional.
I had told that Supreme Commander as well when she had asked me.
DHUB!
A few seconds passed by, and the cracks spread into every part of its body when suddenly something happened that even shocked me.
It imploded, turning to dusk; for a second, I thought something had gone wrong, but I soon realized it was not the case when I felt his strong soul.
It is still present, and it feels even powerful than before.
The dust soon morphed into a huge blood-red cloud; it was so huge that it would be easily able to swallow Grimm of a similar size.
"It is time for you to die, human!" the blood-red dust called out a strange voice and came toward me.
My expression turned serious seeing that; I was not sensing anything from it like before, but I knew it was dangerous, and I have powered my shields to their strongest and even readied the fourth boost to use it at the moment I needed it.
I was watching the huge cloud of blood-red dust coming toward me when the supreme commander contacted me again.
"Lord Zaar, Lady Josephine had returned, and she had brought the news," said a Supreme Commander.
"Michael, there are a huge number of people from old snake's tribe who had gathered at their base," said Professor before I could even ask what the news was.
Hearing it, my eyes couldn't widen in alarm; I had asked the supreme commander to keep eyes on the old snake's tribe after it revealed the divine energy, and now, it had gathered its tribe.
It is bad; the gathering could mean only one thing, the bastard is ready to do the unthinkable, and seeing even the professor was able to see it means the Grimms knew about it, and they will not be going to stop it, despite doing that is forbidden.
'I should leave!' I decided.
That step was extremely dangerous that even I would not be able to bear it; I could not stay here.
I immediately warned all the Grand Lords and was about to activate my escaping method when the dust cloud enveloped my shields, and what happened next was one shocking thing I had ever experienced.
BANNNNG!
The moment it enveloped my shields, they exploded into pieces; it lasted not even a second. It shocked me and sent a huge backlash at me, that stopped me from activating my escape method for a second, and that was enough for the old snake to wrap me around in the dust cloud.
"Now there is no escape but salvation," said the dust cloud in its strange, hallowed voice, and the next moment, it began to drill inside me.
Like my shields, my armor also offered no resistance to it; the dust cloud pieced through it before seeping inside me.
As grains of dust seeped inside me, I felt like I had been pieced by thousands of hot needles.
They have come at me from every direction, and it is not just my body they have pieced, but also my soul and my energy, and moved toward my core too.
"Ahhhh….."
I screamed loudly as the dust began to pierce inside me, as I began to feel the pain I had not felt before.
The old snake is not joking, the bastard literally wants to consume me, and it is thoroughly prepared to the level of risking its own life.
The method it had used was extremely dangerous; I could tell it was designed to consume another being, to their very essence, and make them part of theirs.
It also poses a danger to the old snake because if it does not succeed, it will die.
It had aptly said last time that the next time we meet, either it will die or I, and it is regretful to say it, but the chances of me dying is higher.
Unlike the method that Kraf had used, it did not favor me.
This method is like an apex predator, it does not give the prey any chance, but it also should know I am not any common prey.
I will not let it consume me, I will use every move in my arsenal to stop, and if I had to sacrifice my life, I would do it and take this bastard with me.
