Step!

I entered the other side gently and was glad that I had my armor active with maximum defensive power.

If I had my armor in normal mode, I would have been screaming in pain right now. I pray for those who will be dying right now and hope they receive a quick death.

I have appeared on a small hill, and around me is a ruined city where not even a single building is standing.

Despite that, it looked beautiful, and picturesque, with gentle sunlight, which has a crystalline feel to it. I am the first time seeing such beautiful, strange sunlight.

The hill is a like a place where people come for a picnic. The only problem it had is an invisible energy that wants to tear you apart into dust; it is powerful enough to do that.

If I remove my armor, it will take less than a minute for that to happen.

The first thing I did, is to deactivate the band. I felt like a captive wearing it, and I don't want it active for a moment longer than it needs to be.

I did not remove it from my hand. There is no need to, with it deactivated, it is harmless. So much so that even if they use the supreme command, they will not be able to activate it.

One month is a lot of time to research this band. I have found many ways to deactivate it.

It is powerful, but formation running is not that complex. The moment I understood, I knew a hundred ways to deactivate it and I had chosen the safest one.

With that done, I activated the stealth abilities at full power, since I couldn't take any risks given the level of this ruin.

Stealth mode active, I looked around. Seeing nothing but beautiful ruin. It may look like the dangerous energy had turned it into this, but it is not. It is a battle that did it.

Even after thousands of years, the signs of the battles are very clear here.

Those who fought here are extremely powerful. So much that their energies have not disappeared and instead remained and mixed, with natural factors, creating a very potent mix.

This potent mix could kill normal Primary-III within a minute and even Sovereigns would have a hard time standing in it without their armor.

This place should have been barren with this energy, but it had adapted well. It is not surprising, life does. Especially when the energy ravaging them also had an element of life and death in it.

There are hundreds of types of energies, including those from the domain of life and death.

"Be careful,"

I said and brought out Nero; he wanted to come out since the moment I entered the ruin. He had been inside the core for a month and now wanted to explore.

I looked at him carefully as he appeared. Wanting to take him inside the moment I see the energy doing him damage, but to my surprise, forget damaging, the energy making his fur shine vibrantly.

There is not even a hint of damage, instead, his soft fur waving in a gentle wind.

"Which direction should we go?" I asked him, after looking for a minute. I saw nothing interesting and thus asked Nero.

"North," he said and run through the high grass. I followed behind carefully.

A little more than a minute later, I stopped and looked down at the yellow root. Seeing it, a smile couldn't help but appear on my face. I know the resource and did not expect it to grow here in the environment.

I am surprised, but I am also happy. This is the type of resource I need for my breakthrough.

I did not waste any time, and energy strings came out of my hands. These strings may look the same as the energy strings I use in harvesting the resources, but they are different.

They have five times more energy in them; normal strings would get dissolved in this environment.

The strings moved through the root like snakes, before covering it and pulling it out gently, without triggering any energy. Which could make it lose its efficacy.

As I pulled it out, I immediately put it into my storage. My clone stores it in the box.

I am not the only one who had found the resources; Nero had found several of them. His resource-hunting abilities are no weak than Ashlyn's; most resources I found in the Silverinth ruin were because of Nero.

Including bubbling tar matter and soil.

I am sure Nero would help me here in a no-name, ruin too. Those bastards did not even tell us the name of this ruin.

The code name, which they give before formally naming it.

I couldn't help but wonder about this ruin as I walk. Where it comes from, whom it belongs to? It will be interesting to know about its origins.

Though, it is not a priority. The priority is to find an exit that leads to another place than the organization. It will be a challenge, but with Nero with me, I have some confidence.

The confidence would have been even bigger. If Ashlyn had been with me, too.

She is still sleeping, and this time; she is doing it for twelve straight days, without waking even for a minute. Before, she used to wake up for a few minutes a day, before sleeping and now, she is not even doing that.

I am worried about her, but there is nothing I could do.

This condition is because of reasons I couldn't even comprehend. The only thing I could do was watch her and feed her favorite things when she woke up.

Fifteen minutes passed since I started walking north and I have collected a few more resources.

All of them are rare and at Sovereign Grade.

At least in the resources, this ruin is great. Though, I will have to survive, if I want to bring what I got outside.

It will not be an easy job.

'Father hide!' I had just thought about that when a sudden warning came from Nero. I reacted immediately and hid in the high grass; hoping my stealth method will hide me from whatever that is coming.

I did not have to wait for long; in a few seconds, I saw it.

It is a large white bird with a stone beak and an aura of the Sovereign. In its mouth is a monster. It seemed like a fat stripped dog, and it was dead.

I only glanced at the bird for a moment, before looking away. Powerful monster could sense gazes and I don't want to give it a reason to put myself in that giant beak in place of that monster.

The bird was fast. In less than two seconds, it had disappeared from my eyes, but I remained in my place.

'You can come out now, father.' Said Nero, and half a minute later and I got up and took a long breath to calm myself.

The first monster I have encountered in this ruin is a Sovereign. Which is telling how dangerous the days are in this ruin would be.
