chapter-3311
Two and a half days had passed since we entered the mist valley and despite the dangers, we are moving to our destination at quite a fast speed.
Though things are getting dangerous as we got deeper into the mist valley.
There are many dangers, from dense energy to unstable wonders, but the most dangerous are the monster and Grimms, along with some natives.
Currently, we are hiding not far away from one of such dangers. A battle.
It is of the Earth Sovereign, and their power is immense. These two are more powerful than the two who had fought near the spatial rifts. These two are not even caring about the monsters and even most Earth Sovereign monsters are staying away, and this is what is scaring the hell out of me.
There are six sovereign monsters nearby. If a single one of them had discovered us, it will be game over for me at least.
It had happened so suddenly; we were walking when suddenly, two Earth Sovereigns appeared and started fighting. Their fight immediately attracted the monsters.
It had been less than ten minutes since the battle started and six monsters have already gathered.
The more will gather, as the battle progress. I hope it will end early or it will be very bad for us.
Currently, we are hiding in a hole. It is not a good place to hide, but the best one I was able to find in a short time; I had. We are covered in formation, which is being powered by the mist.
Ragas, instead of looking at the battle; look at the formation.I don't like it, but there is nothing I could about it. I started working on it the day we started to travel. Those runes were not painted, but forged by my clone.
"Your knowledge of runes and understanding of the Empire of Mist is surprisingly good, to be honest,"
"Even in the place I have come from, not many people of your level, without art, had such a deep understanding of it," he said, turning to me from the formation.
"Thank you," I said sarcastically.
It might be praise, but it is also a way of him trying to get more information out of me. He had been trying to do it through such harness questions for a few days.
"So you have not tried to comprehend the Empire of Mist; from your understanding, I say, you would have a pretty good chance at it?" he asked, and I smiled.
"I am sure, you know; comprehension ability didn't matter when it comes to the grand arts," I said, and he smiled.
Grand Arts are like a legacy inheritance; it is suitability that matters the most. It is not like I didn't try; I tried for two, but spend weeks, but grand art, didn't imprint itself on me.
The power of grand art is amazing. Unfortunately, it is not for me.
It turns out, the constitution I have, which makes me a perfect vessel for the powerful being to occupy, had also made me utterly incapable of comprehending the grand art.
I don't know the exact reason; I likely find them in the higher-level books.
"Who do you think will win the battle?" I asked when he turned to the battle. Which is completely a blur to me; whatever little I could see, is from Nero's eyes.
I am sure he could see much more clearly than me.
I had noticed on our travel together that his eyes were great; he could see much further than me with more clarity. It is not just methods to let him do that, but also the artifact.
He is wearing lenses over his eyes, and I can bet they are powerful artifacts.
"It is the Beastman; he had an edge over the spawn, but it is not big enough to dominate it fully," he answered after a few seconds of silence.
His words didn't reassure me. Instead, they worried me more. I was hoping for a clear edge. It would have ended the battle quickly, but with this, the chances of that are much slimmer.
Seeing that, I simply closed my eyes.
I didn't even see the battle through Nero's eyes; there is no use. It is being recorded and my clones will study it while I work on inheritance.
If it had been the battle of Sovereign, I would have kept watching. As there, I would have had some chance of survival, before here; there is none.
Once they discover us; it will be game over for me. Unless the person beside me is willing to help, I didn't put many hopes on that.
So, it is better; I spent time doing something productive, rather than worrying about getting discovered and eaten by the monsters. Their numbers have now reached seven.
I worked on Sovereign Inheritance with four of my clones; they are making tremendous progress every day.
Seeing it, the hope in my heart blazed even further. I only need to survive, and I will reach the Sovereign stage, eventually. It will be dangerous in my condition, but there is a chance I will survive and reach that height.
It will open all sorts of doors for me, most importantly. I will have my strings and seeds back.
Half an hour passed, and they were still fighting; the number of monsters had reached nine and, thankfully, we have yet to be discovered.
Hun!
Suddenly, I opened my eyes and looked at him. "What happened?" I asked, as the sounds of battles suddenly stopped.
"The spawn died. It would have lasted a little longer if it had not made the idiotic mistake," he said casually.
It had happened so fast that even Nero wasn't able to see it, but Ragas did. It seemed like his artifact was more powerful than I had thought.
As the native disappeared, the monsters begin to roar, and their soul senses spread far and wide, as they tried to search for the native.
There is no native, just us. If they discovered us, I don't even want to guess what will they do to us.
