Clang Clang Clang

There are less than a mile of distance has remained between us and the Grimms and the attacks have already started from both sides.

A long sword with a black blade appeared in my hand, and it was cutting through every attack coming at me.

I may not be in strongest of Earth Sovereigns, but I am considerably powerful and could deal with most of the attacks coming at me. Till now, there wasn't a single attack; that I didn't cut through.

I had just thought that, when I saw a huge lance of white-fire coming at me; I immediately moved to dodge it.

I could cut through it, but I didn't want to reveal too much of my strength.

The Grimms are looking at us as we are looking at them. It is wise to not show too much of the power. I will get the chance to show it soon in a few seconds.

Both armies got closer and closer, till there, is less than a hundred meters, remained between the both sides.

Clang Rip Clang.

Finally, the first waves clashed; blades clashed against the blades, and many heads flew, both of the natives and Grimms.

This is a battle.

I didn't let my emotions go astray seeing the carnage and kept moving toward my targets. There are many of them; some I couldn't match, and I had stayed away from them.

"Die!"

Shouted the Tri-Horn Dogman as he appeared in front of me, before swinging its giant crystal saber at me.

It is not my target, but I am more than welcome to its attack from this Initial-Earth Sovereign with powerful bloodline energy.

Its saber is fast and appeared beside me in an instant before beginning to cut through me. A big smile appeared on the Dogmen's face seeing that, but a moment later, that smile froze, when it realized what it had cut was not a real me.

Hun!

It reacted instantly and began to retreat, but unfortunately for it. It was doomed the moment; it had decided to attack me.

Puch!

I appeared in front of its chest, and my sword pierced through it. Crushing all the defenses and delivering a heavy dose, that knocked it out in an instant, before pulling it inside my core.

The bloodline Grimm entered inside me.

Puch!

I moved, but a moment later, I stopped and appeared behind the Ratman before piercing my sword into its back.

Three Ratmen were attacking the single native. I decided to kill, it since it was on my way. Once it was inside my core, I moved, but I wasn't able to take more than a few steps when Grimm appeared in front of me.

"Die you, filthy native," said Wereworlf and swung its claws at me.

It is pretty powerful that I won't be able to kill it with the power, I am harnessing, and I don't want to waste time on the Grimms, which didn't have a bloodline.

Burst 20%.

The power of the burst filled me, and I moved. I went straight for its sword and, being smart Grimm, it immediately guessed what I was planning to do and grinned, before increasing the strength of its attack.

Immediately, the attack got thrice faster and quadrupled in energy.

The smile on the Grimm's face says that it had me and I wish I could tell it that, but I don't want to waste even a single word on it.

So, when its claws reached me; I revealed my speed by evading them simply and before appearing in front of it.

Puch!

It watched in horror as my blade crushed through all its defensive methods and pierced through its chest. Like before, I dumped a threatening number of energies into its heart, crushing all its internal defenses before pulling it inside my core.

It disappeared and moved forward toward the energy, which was fighting against the native, who had already turned bloody in front of it.

"Die!" said Hogman with a grin and attacked the native. This time, it is the killing attack, not the toying one like the last few.

Burst 50%.

The runes lit up inside me as they absorbed the power, and my speed increased.

Within a moment, I appeared in front of the Bear Beastman and moved my sword in counter against the Hogman's halberd.

CLANG!

Our attacks clashed, releasing the powerful shockwave, while we looked at each other without blinking.

We stared only for a second before the Hogman moved and its target was the Beastman, I had just saved. It seemed like it was unwilling to let its prey leave.

Well, it needs to because I am its opponent and not the Beastman.

The runes in me lit bright, and I disappeared, appearing in front of the Bearman again and moving my sword forward.

CLANG!

Once again, our blades clashed, and the Hogman looked at the retreating Bearman, before turning back to me.

"It seemed like, you will not let me chase my prey," it said. "No, I will not," I replied with a grin.

The Grimm in front of me is Fiery Tusk Hogman. It is a High-Earth Sovereign; it also entered the temple of irudin. I didn't know at which level it got out, but I know one thing, defeating it would be challenging.

It is the reason why; I had chosen it. I want to fight a strong Grimm.

As for the gate, we cannot even think about it. There is one Grimm Sky-Sovereign hidden there. So, unless our Sky-Sovereigns dealt with it; we will need to fight here and hope, they win or at least hold back the Grimms.

We are nothing but fodder for the battle.

The deciders are the Sky Sovereigns; it is the result of the battle above, that will decide our fate.

"Then prepare yourself for a very painful death," said the Hogman, and its halberd burst into the flames as it swung it at me.
