BANNNNG!

I stopped in my tracks and a shield of strings appeared in front of me, defending me against the shockwave of attack, while the two Grimms coming at me got so injured that I quickly pulled them into my core.

I turned toward the attack, which killed both natives and Grimms.

It was not the attack from the Earth Sovereigns but from Sky Sovereign from the Grimm to be exact, one of the stray attacks that landed and ended up killing its people as well as ours.

The stray attacks are not rare; they have killed a lot of people and not all of them were from the Grimms.

Surviving them is a matter of luck, rather than power. If I had been where it struck, even the powerful shield wouldn't have been able to save me.

I have been lucky that I have been far away and even then; I needed to use my strongest defensive measure to survive, and it still injured me.

Those energies of Sky Sovereigns are easy to manage, even if they have lost a lot of their power. Thankfully, there are two strengthening energies inside me, helping me heal my injuries rapidly.

It had been two and a half hours since the battle began, and it was still raging.

Thousands have died and more are dying every second, but there seems to be no end to it, and it is scaring me.

We had an edge, but it was not enough to get control over the gate. We need to widen it quickly or the losses we will suffer will be huge. So, even if we win by then, it will be a pyrrhic one.

Even for me, the battle is getting difficult. I have lost count of times that I have been nearly killed.

I have got stronger, but the enemies coming at me are stronger than me. Each battle seemed to be a struggle of life and death.

I looked ahead and moved.

It is dangerous to move ahead, seeing the energies of the Sky-Sovereigns attack are still present, but my armor and strengthening essence will deal with the rest.

I crossed the hundreds of meters quickly and my energies became quite dangerous, but I kept moving and soon, I reached the first body, or rather a few pieces of bones and the artifacts.

I looked for a moment, and I spotted the storage band, which my string quickly picked up and moved ahead.

It was not the first time; I had picked up things after the stray attack.

My armor and strengthening energies provide me with unique energies and I used them at their full potential in scavenging. Especially when the stuff belonging to the Peak Earth-Sovereigns and with the two of them going to the temple.

I have killed a lot of Grimms who had gone to the temple, bloodline, and otherwise. Their storages have created a huge pile.

I refrained from opening them; it would be distracting, and I would rather, not get distracted in the battle.

I reached another and then another.

Soon, I reached the fourth, a grim to be exact and there was nothing remained of it. Not even the bones. The things that survived were the artifact and the storage, which I quickly took into my care.

I collected the artifacts of three more people before walking out of the zone.

Hun!

However, at the moment I got out, two were waiting for me. A Chimpman with the obsidian ax and Crockman with toothed blade. I barely glanced at the Crockman, a Peak Earth Sovereign, and turned to Chimpman, a High-Earth Sovereign, with bloodline.

It is giving me a feeling of threat.

They looked at me, before coming at me from both sides. They didn't want to mess around seeing, that they both blasted their pull power; the Chimpman pulled the bloodline phantom and merged with it, increasing its power further.

"Die!"

It shouted and swung its ax at me, covered in a swirling dense blue energy like an ocean.

CLANNNNG!

Its ax clashed against my tiny sword, and I felt my whole body shake before I shot back with the blood coming out of my mouth.

The bastard is as powerful as I expected. It had sent me back broken, and that was not even worse. The worst thing is the Crockman waiting behind; it swings its toothed sword, wanting to finish me off.

These two seemed to have worked together a lot, but I am also not without the tricks.

I gritted my teeth and spun, moving my sword forward.

CLANNNG!

It clashed against its blade, stopping me in my spot. Shocking my whole body and if that wasn't enough, the Chimpman appeared behind me and launched the killed me.

'It is not easy to kill me, you bastard!' I thought and formation lit up and all the kinetic force that I had absorbed released, sending me up, fast, helping me avoid the ax by an inch.

I didn't use this formation of kinetic energy storage, till now, because it affects the body a lot.

In the battle, I was able to make some changes to it, that now, it didn't affect the body as it used to, but it still affects it a lot and I wouldn't use it unless I had no choice and had powerful essence energy in my body to deal with the damage.

Seconds passed, and they continued to attack me. I dodged and defended, surviving their every attack, till it was my time to deal with them.

Puch!

Once again, the Chimpman moved to attack me, but it slowed, and I pushed my sword inside its chest.

The bastard is so powerful, that I didn't dare to divide my strings and used all of them on it. It was a wise choice, given the strength of the bastard.

I turned to Crockman and moved toward it, but to my surprise, it ran away and I didn't chase. I would have if it had the bloodline, but it didn't.

So, I stopped and looked around. My clone chose my target, and I moved toward it.

Hun!

I had only moved a few hundred meters when I suddenly stopped as my body came down with cold sweat and turned.

I saw Grimm coming toward me, and for the first time in the battle, a real terror appeared on my face.
