chapter-3920
Buzz!
As my badge buzzed. I opened my eyes and got up.
A minute later, I was out of my suite toward the cafeteria, where I had the early breakfast.
I never do, but I have a meeting with my teammates and would leave for it soon after.
I was also hoping that I would find one of the seeded, but there was no such luck. So, I finished the mission and walked toward where my teammates were waiting.Soon, I reached the place with the massive wooden gates and walked through it, entering the massive hall.
On that hall are twenty-four big teleportation gates. Each one is as big as a small house.
'The mission might be far.' I thought, looking at the long-range teleportation gates.
These are long-range teleportation gates. Their range couldn't be compared to the Tor's disc, but they could take anyone quite far.
With them, one could go anywhere in the organization's territory and beyond that.
Most importantly, they are silent. They couldn't be detected easily in spatial fluctuation artifacts.
So, it could be a long-distance mission or something close to that needs discretion or both. I will know. Soon enough, I met with my teammates, which I had already spotted."Captain Rahal," I greeted, as I stopped in front of three people.
The captain looked to be in his early thirties. He had blond hair and green eyes that were slightly larger than the humans. He also had four arms of pure muscle.
They are not simple muscles but seem to be gained through the method. It is likely why I could faintly sense the physical aura.
He likely practiced the method before coming here.
He is a High-Sky Sovereign, while the two standing beside him are Initial and Mid-Sovereigns. I don't know their names, or I have any information about them.
I only know there will be three people, and these two are likely.
The man is a Bull Beastman, while the woman dwarf. Though she is taller than me.
"You have come right on time, Ranis," he said, turning to me. "Tanoy, Dwera, this is Ranis," he introduces.
"Hello," I said and shook their hands.
"Now that the introduction is over, let's go." He said, and we walked toward the teleportation gate.
He didn't tell me about the mission details, nor I had asked him about it. He will tell me when it's time.
He had to wait for about four minutes before our turn came before we stepped into the blue teleportation gate.
Step!
We entered the tunnel, before stepping into the snow mountains.
"Halires mountains," said Dwera and the captain nodded. "Yes, our destination is halires forest beyond it. There are enemies hiding in there."
Buzz!
"Our mission is to kill him or capture him, if possible," he said, and a moment later, our badges buzzed.
"He our targets," he added.
A moment later, he flew into the air, while we followed behind him, looking at the information.
"Who is he? cultist?" I asked a few minutes later. "It didn't matter, who he is. What matters is objective, which is a kill or capture," he replied without looking.
I didn't ask any more questions and focused on the badge.
My badge appeared in my hand. The organization had asked me to stash it in a secure location before entering the boundary of Arvos, but I didn't.
They couldn't see the badge. I had closed, not only from their eyes but also from the artifacts they were wearing.
They are wearing the artifacts, that would discover a frequency, that badge other than Arvos.
They are still suspecting me. The artifacts, the hidden gazes; I could notice them. Though, no matter they looked, they will not find anything wrong with me.
I had isolated those artifacts with the energy, before finally activating the badge.
As I did, it picked up the signal, and I began to receive the message and updates immediately.
The first thing, I did was send the report of my days. The things, I had discovered and even a meta-scan, that is more detailed than what the organization had got.
It is only worthwhile information. I have it on me.
Once that is done, I begin to read the message. The personal messages are off; I would only receive them after I returned to Tor.
Everything I have is official.
Hun!
I read one after another. Stopping only at the message, that was sent two days ago.
I stopped because there I saw a familiar photo. The same, I had received not long ago; it is of the same person we are going to hunt.
'No wonder the captain remained quiet in his identity,' I thought.
Even he might not know, given how sensitive it is.
The half-elf is Hal Caryn; a member of Alkaz. In the world, even the Golden Prime organization won't dare to kill a member of Alkaz brazenly.
Though, Alkaz wouldn't admit he is their member. If they did, they would provide reasons and proof against the organization.
It will be a political nightmare for them.
It didn't matter. If Avros was at fault; the organization won't let this opportunity go. Alkaz infiltrate everyone and many hold a grudge against them.
The message said, I should help him, if possible, but if it blows up my cover.
I don't know what I will do.
If I want to help him, I will have to do it in such a way, that no one will suspect me.
I can't afford to blow this cover. There is something really going in Avros and I want to find out.
I read all the messages before deactivating the badge and putting it back to my core. Into the safe box, that even the organization wouldn't be able to know anything about.
There is little spying function in the badge of Tor. I found it quite early.
Even if I hadn't found it. I would have taken the precaution. I understand the weight of my secrets well and what could happen to me, if anyone found out.
Two hours passed and I could see the Halires forest, which marked the northern boundary of Avros.
It is not a common forest, but a suppressive type. It suppresses energy and soul sense. Earth Sovereign and Sovereigns couldn't even use their energy in there.
The Sky Sovereigns are a little better, but they can only use 5% to 30% of their energy and soul sense, depending on their power and abilities.
"I am sure you have already heard about Halires forest. Ranis and Dwera had already done a mission here,"
"It is an important forest for our organization and provides a lot of resources. It is why, there will be people, but also dangerous deep enough,"
"The information would already tell you that our enemy knows a good bone-shifting method. So, we will have to look at each face careful."
"Also, use this to verify his aura," said Captain and sent us a small brick-shaped artifact with crystalline veins.
Auras could be changed, but there are ways to verify it. This little thing is one of them. I had been tested with things far more powerful than it.
However, for more people, it is sufficient. Especially in places like Halires forest, which suppresses one's aura.
If we find the right person; this little thing will do its job and now, it's my job to let it not happen.
