My Wife is the Asura Empress

chapter-223
Rio knew he needed to find out, but for now, he had to focus on the task at hand: finishing the tournament.
With a deep breath, the boy steeled himself for the challenges ahead. Madame may have thrown her best at him, but he was resolute to face all the difficulties.
The thought of her identity intrigued him but he was aware that this madame would attack him again since she held some unknown grudge against him.
Rio turned his attention to Nyla, who had been fighting the giant boar with her yellow flame and black spear.
The girl's eyes were shining with resolute glint, her hand holding tightly onto her spear. She shot toward the charred beast with a yellow flame swirling around her.The creature tried to dodge her strike, but Nyla was too quick for it. She hastily struck the giant boar with her spear, sending yellow flames flying everywhere.
*Shriek!!*
The beast let out a pained wail and stumbled back, its movements had become sluggish as the fight dragged on.
Nyla didn't hold back as she charged toward the wounded beast, her black-stage spear dancing in her hand. As she reached the creature, she swung her weapon with all her strength, the sharp tip slicing through the air and striking the beast's side.
The creature let out a guttural roar of pain, but she didn't stop there. She continued her attack, going forward and delivering a series of blows that left the creature staggering and weak.
Eventually, Nyla saw her opportunity and raised her spear high, aiming for the beast's head. With a powerful thrust, she drove the sharp tip into the creature's skull, causing it to let out one last pitiful cry before collapsing to the ground.
The girl stood there for a moment, catching her breath and looking down at the giant boar writhing in pain before closing its eyes.Despite the exhaustion, her face was decorated with a tired smile as she finally took down another special beast alone.
Rio couldn't help but feel adoration for Nyla's power and skill. He had seen her fight many times before, but every time he was amazed by her abilities.
As she was done finishing the boar, she looked exhausted and her eyes swept to find her boy before getting fixed on Rio, marching towards him, her footsteps sounding in the forest.
Ignoring the cheers of the Sohpia and company, she came to a stop right in front of Rio. Her gaze locked onto his and Rio could see the fire burning in her eyes.
The others were dazed for a moment at their brilliant performance but the bloodlust was thick in the air as Rio slaughtered five students without flinching. They didn't think he would've easily killed five humans even without blinking his eyes. Not only he didn't show any fear or hesitation but he killed one after another as if it was his daily routine.
They knew these five were criminals and the federation would deal with their family and find out who was behind this. Even if any of these evil students had high backing, the person behind them wouldn't be able to stand in front of the Havenglow family.
"Sister-in-law, You're amazing."
Lucas dashed towards the duo with a grin on his face, completely in awe of what he had just witnessed. He couldn't believe the incredible strength and skill that these two possessed.
Sophia and the others followed behind him, their eyes filled with admiration and respect for Nyla and Rio who had just saved them all.
The other students, both seniors, and juniors, all looked at Rio and Nyla with respect, their faces expressing their appreciation and reverence for the two.
But not everyone was pleased with the heroes' performance.
Talia gritted her teeth as she watched Rio and Nyla being praised by her teammates. She couldn't believe that her step-sister had managed to defeat the special beast with such ease.
As she looked around, she saw that everyone was in amazement at the duo's performances. Even the seniors, who were on the black stage, were admiring their strength and courage.
"Thank you so much for saving us," one of the senior students said, bowing deeply to Rio and Nyla.
"We wouldn't have made it without you," another added, his voice filled with genuine gratitude.
Nyla and Rio were getting praised by their schoolmates as they basked in the glory of saving them.
"Come on, guys, we can't let this victory go without a proper celebration," Lucy said with a big smile, looking around at the group.
"Absolutely, we owe it to Rio and Nyla for saving our lives," James added, nodding in agreement.
Everyone was joyous and planning to do a small feast for their victory but there was one person who didn't like their idea.
"The competition is far from over, and we can't afford to lose this tournament from other schools. Our priority should be to gather more battle points to secure a higher rank for our Golden Seal Military School. So, let's focus on that for now. We appreciate your invitation, but we must take our leave," Rio replied firmly and turned them all down.
Sophia and Lucas exchanged a look, silently communicating their hopes that Nyla would be able to change Rio's mind.
They turned to her, their expressions pleading. Nyla, however, stood firm in her conviction to leave. She knew that Rio must have a good reason for wanting to leave.
Nyla met their gaze and shook her head gently, her lips set in a resolute line. She didn't want to go against Rio's wishes, especially when it came to matters of winning the tournament.
They had come this far together, and she trusted him to make the best decision for their team's success.
