Huo Mian wanted to take Qin Chu’s feelings into consideration – she knew how the twins acted around Su Yu. Therefore, she didn’t want to see him.

Before Qin Chu could say anything, Little Bean interjected, “Mommy, I don’t want to go anywhere else. Let’s eat here.”

“Mommy, I want to see Handsome Su as well,” Pudding said with anticipation.

“Let’s do what the kids want… it’s okay to see him, we’re all friends.” With a smile, Qin Chu held Huo Mian by the hand and the four of them walked into the restaurant.

“Hi, President Huo, President Su’s here as well,” the manager of the restaurant immediately said upon seeing them enter, to which Huo Mian nodded. “Mhm, I know.”

As they were taken inside to their seats, the family of four saw Su Yu and Jian Tong sitting in a quiet corner.

Before Huo Mian could greet him, Little Bean immediately rushed up. “Handsome Su!”

“Little Bean! Why are you here?” Su Yu was extremely surprised to see Little Bean.

“Everyone’s here,” Little Bean said, pointing to Qin Chu, Huo Mian, and Pudding, standing not far behind her.

Su Yu turned around in surprise. “Um, you’re all here?”

“Yeah, the kids wanted hotpot, so we came,” Qin Chu said.

“What a coincidence! You guys should sit with us.” Jian Tong stood up with a smile, no matter how unwilling she was in her head.

Before Huo Mian could respond, Pudding walked up to Su Yu’s table as well. “Sure, we should sit together.”

Then, Little Bean and Pudding each sat next to Su Yu, leaving Huo Mian feeling a little awkward.

“Come, sit down. Waiter, get President Qin and President Huo some plates and cutlery,” Su Yu ordered.

“Yes, Sir.”

The atmosphere around the hotpot table was weird with four adults and two children. For one, Huo Mian wasn’t close with Jian Tong, and the twins borderline-hated her.

As they ate, Qin Chu and Su Yu occasionally engaged in casual chitchat.

Pudding, who was playing on her phone, suddenly said, “Hey, Auntie Jian, you’re on every newspaper headline today!”

Upon hearing this, Jian Tong’s expression changed.

“I saw it as well, it’s about Auntie Jian’s past… I wonder if it’s true?” Little Bean chimed in.

“Of course it isn’t, someone is defaming me on purpose. You guys are too young to understand how complicated the entertainment industry is.” Jian Tong smiled gracefully.

“Actually, we know how complicated the entertainment industry is, despite our young age. You must’ve worked very hard to survive in such a complicated industry, does that mean you’re a complicated person?” Pudding glanced at Jian Tong.

“Ahem, Pudding, order what you want to eat.” Huo Mian immediately changed the subject.

“Did you guys hear that Mo Xue’er was bailed out?” Su Yu asked.

“Mhm, I did.” Huo Mian thought back at her conversation with Jiang Xiaowei and nodded.

“I checked out the source of the news, it’s a tiny press under the Xiang Family… I’m thinking it has to do with Mo Xue’er since she’s been living at the Xiang Family ever since she was bailed out.”

“That’s a possibility… after all, she’s rivals with Ms. Jian, and the Huo Corporation and Imperial Star are competitors. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was behind all this.”

“I’m not going to forgive Mo Xue’er for this!” Jian Tong said angrily. Then, she looked at Su Yu with innocent puppy-dog eyes. “I’m fine with this scandal because I’m used to being defamed. I just don’t want to drag President Su down with me… or Imperial Star… I don’t want him to suffer, I’ll just take all the blame.”

As she said this, tears shone in Jian Tong’s eyes…

“Auntie Jian, no wonder you won the best actress award this year…” Pudding suddenly said.
