“A while ago… I wanted to tell you sooner, but… I’ve been struggling as well. I was worried that I might regret it if I didn’t say anything, and I might regret it if I did,” Zhixin said, struggling to find the right words.

“It’s fine, you telling me just makes me more aware.”

“Sis, maybe you should talk to Qin Ning. She was in the States with Chu this entire time, I’m sure she knows,” Zhixin suggested.

“Zhixin, did you tell anyone else about what you heard? Does Mom know?”

“Of course not, I would never blurt something like this out. Plus, who knows what really happened? I don’t want to wrong my brother-in-law, so I chose to only tell you.”

“Good. Don’t tell anyone about this, I’ll keep it on my mind and deal with it.”

“Mhm, okay Sis. I trust you.”

“How are things going with you and Bella?” Huo Mian asked.

Zhixin scratched his head. “Bella’s personality… stops me from confessing my feelings to her… I don’t want to lose her as a friend.”

“Come on Dude, learn from Ni Yang. He’s getting married, but you’re still miles away…”

“I can’t, Sis, Ni Yang’s a superstar.”

“But you’re President Qin’s brother-in-law…” Huo Mian rebutted.

“Haha, okay, Sis, you win… it’s an honor to be President Qin’s brother-in-law,” Zhixin laughed.

“Go to bed, okay? It’s late.”

After Huo Mian said goodnight to Zhixin, she went straight back to their suite. Qin Chu had reserved a presidential suite for the four of them so they could be together while having their personal space if needed. It was both romantic and considerate.

It was already 2 AM when Huo Mian walked in. The twins had already fallen asleep, but Qin Chu was still working at the desk.

“Wow, Mr. Qin… why are you working during Chinese New Year?” Huo Mian chuckled.

“You’re back. Are you tired? You wash up and go to bed,” Qin Chu said, feeling bad for his wife. Then, he got up and went into the bathroom, turning on the tub for Huo Mian.

Qin Chu had always been so loving and attentive that Huo Mian could never imagine that he might hurt her.

But the thing was, Zhixin would never lie or exaggerate about something like this, which meant that Qin Chu was keeping something pretty important from her…

Huo Mian calmly analyzed the situation but didn’t utter a word of it to Qin Chu. She didn’t even plan on asking Qin Ning, because she knew that the latter would immediately tell Qin Chu about this if she were to question her, which would make this whole thing more troublesome.

Thus marked the end of Chinese New Year; it was one of Huo Mian’s happiest-spent holidays, thanks to Lu Yan’s surprise return. However, her sister left in such a hurry that Huo Mian became depressed.

Over the last few years, she finally figured out her true background and found out that her father and sister were still alive. However, she couldn’t see her sister whenever and wherever she wanted to – this just proved that money was in fact, not omnipotent.

Sometimes, Huo Mian even wondered if she would be happier without her status and wealth. All she wanted to do was live like a normal person and have a normal family like everyone else.

Time flew by, and after the New Year, Qin Chu and Huo Mian went back to C City for work.

– January 8th of the Lunar Calendar –

Today was Ni Yang’s wedding, and everyone arrived early in the morning.

Tang Chuan didn’t even leave and had been hanging out with Qin Ning for the last week or so. Qin Ning was actually planning on leaving on the 3rd, but she hadn’t brought up the topic in a long time.

That morning, Qin Chu and Huo Mian got up early to tend to the guests.

Ni Yang’s wedding was going to be held at the beginning of the lunar new year…

“Hey, look who’s here!” Tang Chuan pointed at the door and shouted.
