“Oh yeah? I’m surprised that you can make a knock-off look so real,” Qin Chu mocked.

“That’s why it’s called a high-end knock-off because it can pass for the real thing,” Zhang Manlin said with a laugh. However, Qin Chu didn’t laugh at her joke, making her feeling awkward almost immediately.

“I’ve been curious about something,” Qin Chu said.

“What?”

“I’ve seen photos of you as a child, you look nothing like you do now.” Then, Qin Chu took out a large yellow envelope, casting it onto the table in front of him.

Inside the envelope were photos of Zhang Manlin when she was young. She grew up in the countryside so there weren’t a lot of photos to begin with, and each photo of her was uglier than the last.

“Haha, I can’t believe you actually investigated me. Does that mean you’re beginning to take an interest?” Zhang Manlin asked with a thick-faced manner.

“Changing the subject is a bad habit. I think you should explain the drastic difference in your looks. I get that you can grow out of your looks, but all of your features have changed,” Qin Chu said.

“President Qin, are you trying to accuse me of receiving plastic surgery?” Zhang Manlin was extremely confident; not only did Huo Siqian delete all her medical records, he even killed the people who were involved.

Therefore, Zhang Manlin was prepared to deny to the end of the earth, no matter who accused her of getting plastic surgery.

Qin Chu didn’t respond to her question…

Zhang Manlin took a tiny sip of her coffee and smiled. “Why are you so surprised that your wife has a look-alike? There are a lot of look-alikes in the entertainment industries as well, so your question really has no point. Is it my fault or a crime that I look like your wife? Haha… President Qin, you’re rich and have a family business. If you really don’t like the way I look, why don’t you give me some cash and I’ll get plastic surgery, so you won’t get mad when you look at me. Better yet, give me enough cash so I can look like an A-list celebrity.”

Zhang Manlin’s tactic was to take a step back; therefore, she was quite convincing. Was Qin Chu really going to give her money for plastic surgery? Of course not.

“I was just asking you a question, don’t be so nervous.” Qin Chu picked up his cup of coffee and took a sip.

It was true that Zhang Manlin was nervous. She always felt as if Qin Chu knew something but she wasn’t 100% sure. That was why talking to him gave her anxiety.

“Who said I was nervous? I’m just a little angry that you don’t like me because of who I look like.”

“I never said that. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be here drinking coffee with you,” Qin Chu replied naturally.

“So President Qin, are you saying that you like me?”

“Me? No, I’ve never liked anyone,” Qin Chu sneered.

“What about your wife? Don’t you like her?” Zhang Manlin refused to give up.

The corners of Qin Chip’s lips curled into a small smile – he didn’t like Mian; he loved her to death.

However, he didn’t answer Zhang Manlin’s question, and instead changed the subject.

“Are you close with Liu Ze?”

He was trying to get information out of her, trying to figure out if Liu Ze was one of Huo Siqian’s.
