“So, what do you want?” Huo Mian tried to calm herself down.

The man stuck out two fingers and grinned cruelly, “You have two choices. Number one, you come with me. Number two, you jump.”

Huo Mian glanced behind her; if she were to jump from here, she would be dead meat a hundred percent.

This was not the Matrix, she wasn’t the chosen one, and she most definitely could not warp time and reality.

Upon hearing Huo Mian’s silent reply, the man continued, “I’m not Huo Siqian, so I don’t need to worry about his little sister Mian’s livelihood. I also do not love you, so I most definitely would not be like him, to keep on giving like an idiot. All I’m here to do is to have and own you. It’s enough to prove that I can accomplish the tasks that he’s failed to finish for years on end in a split second. He’ll know that I can defeat him, simply like that.”

Huo Mian listened. If it were before, she might have thought it was ridiculous. But, knowing Huo Siqian’s second personality was now out in the open, she almost found it predictable.

As an experienced neurologist, she might not be as tactful as Jiang Xiaowei, the psychologist, but, at the very least, she wasn’t helpless.

“If you’re not Huo Siqian, then who are you?”

“You can call me Jack,” the man said.

“Okay, Jack. Why don’t you tell me where you’re from? Do you have parents and friends?”

The man’s expression changed slightly. “You don’t need to know this.”

“I don’t need to know, or you have no idea? Jack, you must know, for someone to be alive in this world without knowing where they came from and with no friends and family, it’s rather pathetic,” Huo Mian said intentionally.

“A god like me doesn’t need family and friends, only the weak need it.”

“What about Huo Siqian? What do you consider him as?”

“He…. is my enemy,” the man said.

“Your enemy? Really? But, why do I think the two of you are brothers, whose lives depend on each other? If Huo Siqian were to die, you wouldn’t live to see another day either.” Huo Mian attempted to brainwash the man in front of her.

“Bullshit. Whether he lives or dies is his own business. I’m the king that will live forever.” The man raised his voice.

“No, don’t lie to yourself. You live within him, whatever he does will impact you. Huo Siqian treats me very well. If he finds out that you’re treating me this way, he might commit suicide out of anger. By then, when you lose the body that contains you, you will never be able to walk on this Earth again. Regardless of how powerful you are, it would be useless, because you will be asleep, forever.”

“Shut up!” The man was successfully provoked by Huo Mian’s words and with his hands pulled into fists; he walked towards her one step after another.

But, Huo Mian could back up no further. She was on the edge of the building, and with one more step, she would break into a million pieces.

“There won’t be anyone saving you today. Soon, you will be my toy, and I will play with you until there’s nothing fun left of you.” The man smiled devilishly.

Huo Mian’s finger twitched slightly, bringing out the needle full of anesthesia, waiting for a chance to strike.

Right as the man reached out his hand for her collar, Huo Mian swung her arm to aim for the man’s shoulder. However, her plan failed as he stopped her arm mid-way.

“Anesthetics? What a petty trick,” The man twisted Huo Mian’s wrist, forcing her to drop the only weapon she had as a jolt of pain bolted up her arm.

Huo Mian’s heart sank, and for a split second, she was forced to face a single truth that struck her in the face – I might die here today.
