“I did my best, but you know my boss is naturally on alert and paranoid. Even though he trusts me the most, he doesn’t want to talk about his plan with me. That’s all I can tell you. I’ll contact you when he makes the arrangements.”

“Okay. Got it.”

Hanging up, Ah-Cheng left the corner in stealth.

Qin Chu ended the call and went downstairs to the living room for breakfast.

Only Huo Mian was up at this moment, and she was frying eggs and making bread and coffee for Qin Chu.

“Honey, does he have any information?”

“No. He said Huo Siqian is being tight-lipped.”

“Can we trust Ah-Cheng? Are you sure Huo Siqian isn’t using him to trick us?” Huo Mian was still worried.

Then she pushed a mug of hot coffee toward Qin Chu.

“Thank you, Honey.”

Qin Chu was always attentive to details and never took things for granted.

He was grateful for every good thing happening to him, even when he was with his beloved Huo Mian.

“Don’t mention it. We’re family.”

“We can trust Ah-Cheng. I’m sure Huo Siqian isn’t using him to trick us because I have Ah-Cheng’s lifeline.”

“Is it the orphan Zhang Manlin mentioned?”

Huo Mian’s heart lurched because she knew Mr. Qin never liked to use kids to blackmail people.

“It’s that kid, but I didn’t blackmail him,” Qin Chu explained.

Without waiting for Huo Mian’s reply, he continued after sipping the coffee, “That kid has a congenital heart defect and he’s been looking for a heart to do the transplant surgery.”

“Do you have a heart for him?” Huo Mian looked at her husband.

“I found one out of the country; Rick helped me.”

“Since you mentioned Rick, I wonder how Xixi is doing; I haven’t heard from her for a long while.”

“They are… probably in a bit of trouble.”

“Something happened to them?”

“No. Just some trouble. After we get rid of Huo Siqian, we can all go to the U.S. Besides visiting Rick and Xixi, we will try and persuade Second Uncle not to object to the marriage between Ning-Ning and Tang Chuan.”

“It seems you think well of Tang Chuan. What? Are you getting softened by him calling you brother-in-law?” Huo Mian teased him.

“No. I just think Tang Chuan is good in nature.”

“Yeah. In fact, among the Four Young Masters, Mr. Shen is good too. But unfortunately…”

Thinking of Shen Mingxi who was still in the hospital, Huo Mian felt sympathetic to him.

“His only fault was falling in love with the wrong woman… Everyone has their own destiny. Huo Yanyan made the bed and has to lie in it… She’s asking for trouble by messing with Gao Ran. She’ll gain nothing but become a laughingstock for people.”

“Tiantian is still young; I hope she won’t follow her Mom’s footsteps and lives in her shadows,” Huo Main exclaimed.

Since Qin Chu had got Ah-Cheng’s lifeline, he gained the control of Ah-Cheng, which gave him more confidence to deal with Huo Siqian.

But he didn’t know that this duel would be much more difficult than he imagined.

In a war-torn country which was tens of thousands of miles away –

Lu Yan stayed in an air-raid shelter, looking especially handsome in her green military camouflage uniform.

She had been dodging Ian and dealing with killers sent by Qiao Fei’s elder brother while doing a deal worth one billion US dollars.

Leading her own mercenary team, she had a fierce battle with the rebels who tried to divide this small country.

It looked as if she was born for fighting wars…

“Psycho Qiao, let’s return to China after this deal.”

“You miss Sister Mian, right?” Qiao Fei looked at his beloved woman and asked gently.
