chapter-2131
"Darkness, those dregs who refuse to see the limits of their strength are still probing for where the tomb is.” A frowning person appeared next to the city lord with a turn of their body. “Inferno is trash, so it’s not hard to defeat him. Those dregs have always been cautious and don’t seem like they’d mobilize en masse for this.”
Blue hair cascaded down over blue robes while water ripples circulated around the person. She was a very pretty woman.
"Weilan,” Darkness greeted her with a smile. “Those dregs are living beings too, so they’ll have their own personal desires. They may not be as united internally as they appear to be.”
The Darkness city lord stretched out his hand, looking at the small ball of power from heaven and earth that bobbed above it. He’d collected it from Blazemountain when repairing her city.
"This is power from a complete heaven and earth… It is anathema to us city lords, but to that scum His lips curved upward and he smiled deeply. “We won’t even have to act ourselves after you spread the word.”The Weilan city lord brightened. City lords known for ulterior motives such as them weren’t the best candidate to disseminate the rumors. Blazemountain was the optimal choice as she was a victim and bore traces of a complete heaven and earth on her. Those would attract quite a lot of attention to the city lord by themselves.
"The dregs have always styled themselves as saviors of all, but the worlds they’ve created a few times have always met their end at the tomb’s hands. They’ve depleted the nothing of life again and again—they are the true sinners of life!” Weilan’s lips curved with contempt as she looked at Blazemountain’s departing figure. “Our ideals are different from them, but it is all the same in the end. We both seek to act on behalf of all life,” she sighed.
"I’m not that grand.” Darkness smiled at Weilan. “I just want to live.”
"I want to live too,” Weilan snorted with laughter and leaned her head against Darkness’ embrace, murmuring, “I just don’t want to live such a lonely existence.”
I want to see blue skies, white clouds, green mountains, and blue water again.
If one had a choice, would one choose to live in the empty nothing that lacked everything? If one had a choice, would one be willing to spend their days with odious ghost zombies?
Darkness sighed and caressed Weilan’s head, a deep look appearing in his eyes.Everything was done for the sake of survival.
Lu Yun began refining the Inferno city lord again. The latter’s shrieks echoed in the void, creating the concept of sound in the vast emptiness and then traveling elsewhere.
A figure suddenly walked out of the void. Tall, slender, it was a woman dressed in black. She held a head in her hands—Blazemountain’s.
"Who would’ve thought that the city lord who killed Pantian would die to a newbie like you!” Excitement and hope flashed through her eyes when she saw Lu Yun.
Although Inferno was still screaming, he was dead. The anguished wails were just the concept of “screaming” that’d been born in the nothing.
Pantian had been a powerhouse of the faction known as the Saviors. He’d set a personal goal of reshaping the world and saving all of life. He once gathered countless small worlds and crafted them into a mid-sized world, then helped the world blossom with light in the nothing.
Sadly, he’d fallen for one of Inferno’s traps and died to the city lord.
Having refined this part of Inferno’s memories, Lu Yun knew of Pantian and how important he’d been to the Saviors. He was far stronger than Inferno, but had been refined to death through one of the city lord’s schemes. The mid-sized world that he’d created was turned into a brick and added to Inferno’s city.
"Motong.” Lu Yun raised his head and called out the woman’s name.
"You know me?” Motong paused. She’d never seen Lu Yun before and had found the young man through Blazemountain’s tracks. When she received word that a city lord was requesting help in the nothing, she’d intercepted Blazemountain and learned of Lu Yun’s existence when she killed the city lord.
To think that the unknown Savior would recognize her with a single glance!
"I refined the Inferno city lord’s memories,” Lu Yun nodded.
"That’s still not right!” Motong’s brows drew together. “My identity is special, so the Inferno city lord can’t possibly know me… There’s a traitor among us!” She immediately realized.
"Not a traitor,” Lu Yun shook his head. “This person was on the city lords’ side from the very beginning. They’re a sleeper agent.”
Motong sat down next to Lu Yun and frowned ferociously.
"Do you trust me that much?” Lu Yun snorted with laughter to see the newcomer completely relaxed around him. “Aren’t you afraid that this is a trap? You won’t stand a chance if I attack you when you’re sitting so close to me.”
Motong was stronger than Blazemountain, but far weaker than Inferno. The Saviors weren’t limited by the cities of nothing since they lacked such cities. They could travel at will through the nothing, but that also meant their strength was limited. In the nothing, a city lord was much stronger than a Savior of the same level.
The Saviors gained their strength from the small worlds.
"Trading an Inferno city lord for me is an incredible loss for the city lords.” Motong wasn’t the least bit concerned. “It’s precisely because we’re afraid this is a trap that I’m here.”
She was very frank—they suspected Lu Yun, so they sent an expendable Motong.
The Saviors didn’t plan on bringing Lu Yun back to their headquarters. They’d fallen for this trick too many times and had been heavily set back by Pantian’s death. These days, they repeatedly tested any Savior they met, even if the other was the genuine article.
The great world shattered into infinite pieces when it broke and created numerous planes in the empty nothing, depositing the concept of something in many parts of the nihil. Who knew what might arise from that?
The Saviors had come from these tiny worlds. There were so many of the worlds that despite the city lords crafting them into bricks, there was still an infinite sum.
Of course, just as these small worlds could give rise to Saviors, so could they give rise to more city lords. No one knew who they faced, so they had to be careful.
If it wasn’t for Motong’s side sensing the presence of a complete heaven and earth on Blazemountain, it might’ve been an even more insignificant person who came.
