Only I Am A Reader
chapter-367-30041322

Geochin disappeared from his location only to appear right behind Namgung Jang!

"Your father did show remorse when he was at death's door. I doubt you would do the same, but I will at least make this as quick as possible for his sake."

The transmigrated earthling that took over Geochin's name didn't have any fond memories in the Noble Sword House, no one tried to effectively ease the harshness of his living. Even though it was too late, he did show his regret and will to fix it, so Geochin was willing to do his foolish son a favor.

'You still have to die though.'

If it was for the sake of his dream, he was willing to bury his grudge and let his abominable uncle live. Luckily, however, his goal coincided with his revenge, so all he could do was give him a swift farewell.

Splashhh!

"Ga-"

Namgung Jang wanted to retort, but the Sword Qi blade protruding from his chest was the only answer he received. The big dreams that he had yet to accomplish had come to an end alongside his life.

"I guess I can kill Unrestrained Martial Artists after all!"

Taking out his arm from his deceased uncle's body as he looked at it falling to the ground, Geochin pretended to casually joke about this matter, but his heart was actually a mess.

It was beating so hard that it almost jumped from his chest!

'I... Did it.'

He might have told himself that he was only doing this for his ultimate goal, but he couldn't help trembling when he realized the very first wish he had when he just transmigrated.

'I want to kill him, I want to kill him, I want to kill them all!'

Every night that he couldn't receive the liberation of sleep due to the aching pain running through his whole body, Geochin was intensively haunted by these murderous thoughts.

If this was the modern world, he would have just snapped and grabbed a kitchen knife before stabbing both of them to death. Unfortunately, such a threat could be easily neutralized by the flick of a finger in this world...

At one point, Geochin believed that he had left all of that behind him, but it turned out that this obsession had always been with him. It was only suppressed by his rationality so far!

Now that he finally killed the father and son pair, he felt exhilarated. However... That inexplicable joy only lasted for a few minutes, after which he...

'Why does it feel so empty?'

Although Geochin would never admit that this was a major target in his life, he couldn't deny how satisfying it felt. Were a few minutes of satisfaction all that the painstaking process of revenge could get?

'I was right.'

Originally, he was worried that he would lose his cause once he got what he once wanted, but these underwhelming results only strengthened Geochin's resolve. Revenge was a useless pursuit that only added more torment.

The only answer was to remove the causes of these acts of revenge before they came to be. Only by breaking the cycle could things truly change for the better!

'This is necessary.'

He wasn't just trying whatever and hoping that it would work. He had studied the situation and found one single solution that he was willing to do anything to achieve, and the reality was just affirming his facts.

This kill might have been pleasant, but what came next wouldn't necessarily be the same, so gaining affirmation of his beliefs was really helpful at this stage.

'I wonder if they are already done...'

Having gotten more than he wished for, Geochin stepped out of the room in large strides. Naturally, even if he was confident in his abilities, he hadn't come all the way here on his own.

Numbers did matter, and he was doing this precisely for this reason. Along the way out, Geochin coldly glanced at the trail of bloody corpses extending outside.

'The stubborn can't be saved.'

Once he exited the building, the scarlet liquid's abundance thinned down as Geochin's eyes lied on the family members frozen in place, surrounding them were...

"Hey, Boss! Did you do it?"

The members of the Murim League! In a world where strength and numbers both mattered, they were Geochin's backbone!

Just like Geochin had made his way into the Family Head's room, a select group of loyal Murim League members had stepped in to take control of the place.

Even with some stealth involved, not just anyone could invade the Noble Sword House and immobilize it. However, after the damage they suffered at the flat plains' battle as well as the boost that the members had gotten thanks to their successful heist, the scale of power could be said to have become more balanced!

In fact, the scale was slightly tipping to the Murim League's side. With their numbers and power, the Namgung Family members had to think twice before treating this situation as a do or die... Especially if the invader's goal wasn't to annihilate them.

This was no war, there was no need to fight to the death until one side remained!

'Not that much different from what we expected.'

There were still a few corpses here and there, but most of those were apprehended rather than killed. The rest of the people that didn't resist for the time being were kept an eye on by the Murim League's members.

There was simply no reason to kill as there was nothing to gain from it. The finest of their resources were already taken by the League. Their target was the people themselves so spilling blood would be indisputably idiotic.

After all, this was a takeover!

Instead of replying to his subordinate, Geochin walked towards the high-standing podium usually used by the Family Head and slowly walked up its stairs. It was for the final and the most important part of the plan.

"Uncles and aunts, brothers and sisters, do you not seek change?"
