chapter-394
Internal Energy Telekinesis.
Unlike other auxiliary powers that one would obtain as they stepped up in rank as a Martial Artist such as Sword Qi and True Internal Fire, Internal Energy Telekinesis wasn't just another convenient support ability.
It was more like a whole new definition of what combat was!
'He has gotten careless.'
It was one thing to stray away from the conventions of battle when dealing with Geochin's soft-handed deception, but now that he had gotten heavy-handed, there was a chance to nail him down to the ground.Without hesitation, Leo drew out his Internal Energy to throw a wave of telekinesis on the entirety of Geochin's body, pressuring him to the ground in an attempt to lop his slippery head off!
In a battle between Unrestrained Martial Artists, a clash of Telekinetic Energy was a must. Rather than stashing away their large reserves of Internal Energy, both sides would rely on their experience and comprehension to exert more pressure on the other…
Though the margin of difference was usually minuscule, it was all that was needed to decide a battle. After all, being the slightest bit slower or weaker was more than enough to get pushed back or even die in a split second.
In reality, most Unrestrained battles were close calls, but they rarely resulted in death due to the sensitivity of the matter. If both sides jumped at each other seriously, however, one of them was guaranteed to die in record time.
"It's not going to work."
Of course, Geochin would most certainly die in such a case considering his lack of ability to pressure his opponent in return or repel their Telekinetic Energy, but that wasn't a subject of worry for someone with his speed.
All he needed to do was vanish from the spot where the pressure was being exerted before it covered his whole body. Although breaking the limits of his body for a long time was deadly, he could do it as much as he wanted to do as long as he only did it momentarily! With the reaction speed of the Murim Lord, a 'stun' wasn't a practical solution, that was precisely how Geochin had smuggled his way out of the Unrestraineds' main advantage!
"Who knows? I just have to keep trying."
While all of Geochin's opponents eventually decided that using Telekinetic Energy on his was a waste even for their large reserves, Leo had no problem trying again and again. The battle was just starting.
He had been training this specific method of battle over the last few months under Cheon Chang's tutelage. If Leo didn't get to use that now, then what did he spend all that time for?
"Tch… Useless."
Such tactics didn't really threaten Geochin's life. Still, it put him back to step one. By losing his freedom of movement, he had no way of exerting more force or speed on his attacks to catch Leo off guard.
'Fine.'
Geochin had hoped to take out his arrogant opponent the fast way, but that didn't mean he had no trust in doing so through his usual method. Sect Masters had fallen to that, and Leo was next on the list!
Going back to his careful approach, Geochin's Blue Dragon moved about artfully. It didn't follow a specific technique, like a mixture of random strokes. Though that made the sword lose its grandiose, it also made it unpredictable.
It was practically traceless when coupled with Geochin's swiftness!
'...How?'
However, Leo didn't seem too perplexed by these movements. In fact, he handled it just as well as Yeon had… If not better.
It wasn't just a fluke or a lucky start, Leo was following the Blue Dragon's rhythm very skillfully. It was as if he was resonating with it on the same level that Geochin himself did!
<He is either a millennial genius or… Much older than he looks>
Even the Sword Emperor was skeptical about Leo's skills. A genius that appears every millennium seemed farfetched, yet cheating age wasn't as easy as it looked.
Although there were ways for changing appearance or staying young, a look from the Murim Lord's discerning eyes could easily tell the real bone age apart, and Leo was barely a year older than the little Heavenly Demon that he had just seen!
From his and Geochin's perspective, the only explanation was limitless talent, but from Leo's… things were a little different.
He might have not received the Heavenly Demon's Inheritance, nor did he have a 'grandpa' in his head to steer the wheel, however, he had spent half a lifetime mastering the sword in a world where swords were all that mattered.
Most importantly, his learning time didn't equate to that of others thanks to his 'Reading' that expedited the process. He wasn't exactly the Sword Emperor's match, but he could definitely hold his ground against a puppet handled by the old man.
In particular, the random micromovements and the pieced-together technique that Geochin employed could be said to be Leo's expertise as someone who read too many books on swords. Geochin couldn't get his way out with just this!
"You are stuck here with me."
Leo had no intention of stalling till he had some kind of assistance, he was simply taunting the bomb standing in front of him to make his work easier. Psychological warfare is often more effective than physical force.
Thump!
Just then, another heavy body dropped to the ground. The Black Heaven Jade had swiftly decapitated an Unrestrained… And that wasn't the end of it!
Prung!
One more head was popped like a watermelon by the Black Dragon. Everyone was too busy to get surprised again by a single death, but the sequential death had once again distracted everyone.
Just like Yeon carefully snagged a head, the Absolute Spear crushed the third man on his tail even when a second Unrestrained had come to fill in for the two who had already died…
"Are you sure it's a good time to be absent-minded like this?"
Things took an even more interesting turn as Geochin's face turned slightly pale as he stared into the horizon… Something was coming.
"Sorry for being late!"
