chapter-110

“Alright.”

Romian nodded to Soo Hyuk’s reply.

“Let’s depart now! I’ll go get my bags first,” said Romian with a smile on his face.

“Should I wait outside?”

“Yes!”

Romain nodded once again, and Soo Hyuk went outside.

As Soo Hyuk went out, the smile on Romian’s face slowly faded. He made a sharp gaze at Soo Hyuk, who couldn’t see him, and once Soo Hyuk left the house, he went into the room.

***

Soo Hyuk was staring at the cliff far away and thought,

‘Is it around that cliff?’

Romian was walking towards the cliff, so Soo Hyuk thought the cave was somewhere around there.

A few minutes later, Romian stopped as he arrived at the bottom of the cliff.

“This is the place.”

“…?”

Soo Hyuk tilted his head, because there wasn’t a passage anywhere. There was only a wall in front of them.

“Can you give me the key?”

Soo Hyuk took out the key from the inventory and handed it to Romian.

Receiving the key, Romian approached the cliff and started to search for something on the wall. He then entered the key into a small gap, and suddenly, a strange noise was coming from within the cliff.

From the gap, the rocks began to move inwards, and a pair of stairs heading down appeared.

“Let’s go!”

Romian took the lead and walked down the stairs, and Soo Hyuk followed.

‘I wonder how long the stairs are.’

The staircase was not heading straight down, but circular. There were walls on both sides, so it was hard to tell how much further they had to go.

‘At least it’s not pitch dark.’

Maybe it was because of the key, or perhaps it was always like this. There were small magic stones in the walls on both sides emitting light.

Although there was light, it didn’t make the staircase any shorter. It took five more minutes to arrive at the bottom of the stairs.

‘Now it’s a tunnel…’

There was a tunnel at the end of the stairs that was impossible to grasp how long the walk would take.

Soo Hyuk and Romian continued to walk forwards. The tunnel was also very long and took 10 minutes to reach their destination.

“The left is the trap path, and the right is the monster path,”

said Romian to Soo Hyuk, who stopped walking and looked at the two paths.

Soo Hyuk was standing on the left, and Romian was on the right. They swapped their positions while saying,

“Then I’ll be heading that way.”

“And I’ll go that way.”

“Be careful,” said Romain.

Before Soo Hyuk replied, Romian nodded his head as a greeting and headed towards the path. Romian soon disappeared from Soo Hyuk’s sight, and then Soo Hyuk walked towards the monster path.

‘I remember the first monster is a goblin.’

There wasn’t a lot of information on the monster path, but there were a few.

The monster that appeared, in the beginning, was one of them, and the first monster was said to be a goblin.

‘What would the goblin’s level be?’

All he knew was the race of the monster. He didn’t know how many, how strong the monsters were.

‘It is the Great Thief Kelta’s cave. It has to be somewhat difficult.’

This wasn’t an ordinary cave, but Kelta’s cave. She wasn’t called the Great Thief for anything. The level of the monsters protecting this cave shouldn’t be that low.

While thinking about the goblins, Soo Hyuk stopped because he saw the goblins ahead.

‘One, two…, five in total.’

At that moment, the goblin’s saw Soo Hyuk.

– Hmm, what is that?

– It looks like an orc.

– Doesn’t it look more like an elf than an orc?

The goblins continued their talk, wondering what Soo Hyuk was.

‘Have they never seen a human before?’

It may have been because the goblins never saw a human, they mistook Soo Hyuk for an orc or an elf.

– No! That’s a human!

– What? A human?

– Is that how a human looks like?

– I’ve heard humans taste delicious!! But he doesn’t look very appetizing…

“Fire Storm.”

Soo Hyuk was listening to their conversations, but he didn’t feel the need to do so anymore. The flow of the conversation was getting negative anyways.

As Soo Hyuk cast the spell, the firestorm swept the goblins, and the drop notification appeared.

– Goblin’s Poisonous Stinger x5

– Goblin’s Canine Tooth x5

– Goblin’s Foot x3

‘What?’

Soo Hyuk was surprised at what he saw.

‘There levels are so low.’

The goblins were incinerated as soon as the firestorm got near them. That means their health was low, and that concludes that their level was also low.

That was not always the case, though, some monsters had a high level, but low health and goblins were among them.

‘Well, I’ll know after I see the exp.’

Soo Hyuk opened the character window to check the exp he got.

Class: Archmage’s Descendant

Level: 202 Experience: 10%

Health: 111600 Mana: 75500

Satiation: 79%

Strength : 40 (+10)

Agility : 35 (+16)

Stamina : 1108 [554 (+10)]

Wisdom: 3775 (+10)

‘What? It’s the same?’

When he killed the red wolves from the Parville Merchants’ Corps, his exp rose by 5%, and his experience increased to 10% before he got to this cave. He killed five goblins just now, but the exp was still at 10%.

‘They must have had a really low level…’

Soo Hyuk thought it might have been possible that they were high in level, but low in health that they died so easily, but that ended up wrong. Seeing that the exp gauge didn’t even budge, they were just low-leveled.

Soo Hyuk closed the window and received the items from the drop window and walked straight into the firestorm burning ferociously.

‘Ahh, this is the best.’

Soo Hyuk passed through the firestorm and saw his health and smiled. The fourth special effect of the Archmage skill was immunity to magic. His health did not decrease, even though he walked through the firestorm.

‘Was that all of them?’

The book only mentioned the race of the monster, not the number. The five goblins might have been all he needed to hunt.

Soo Hyuk continued to walk forwards and shortly saw goblins blocking the path.

‘Of course, it wouldn’t be…’

There was no way it would have ended with five goblins.

“Poison Storm.”

Soo Hyuk cast a spell at the goblins, and a notification popped at the same time.

– Goblin’s Poisonous Stinger x8

– Goblin’s Foot x4

– Goblin’s Hand x2

After hunting a few more goblins, Soo Hyuk finally left the goblin’s territory.

He knew this because there were orcs in front of him.

‘Now it’s orcs…’

‘After this, it’s going to be werewolves.’

The book wrote that after the goblins, there would be orcs. After the orcs, it will be werewolves, and then trolls.

‘I wonder how many races there will be in total.’

The book only mentioned up to trolls. It did not write how many more there will be.

‘I guess the orcs level will also be low.’

The goblins died as soon as the magic grazed them. Although goblins were monsters that had low health compared to same level monsters, Soo Hyuk hunted around 30 goblins, but his exp only rose by 1%. They were just low-leveled.

The orcs were probably the same.

It was normal for the monster’s level to increase the deeper he goes in, but how much of a level difference would there be?

“Fire Spear.”

The Fire Spear flew towards the three orcs and caused an explosion.

– Orc’s Skin

– Orc’s Tendons

‘Yup…’

Soo Hyuk nodded as he confirmed his previous speculation. The orcs were also low leveled.

Soo Hyuk frowned and thought,

‘Should I be happy about this?’

The reason he chose the monster path was not only because it was shorter but also for the experience. But now it seemed that he couldn’t expect much for the experience.

‘Well, at least the time will become much shorter.’

Although he wouldn’t receive a lot of experience, the time to reach the end would get shorter.

Soo Hyuk received the drops and continued forward.

Later on, Soo Hyuk didn’t even bother to stop for the orcs. They were all one-shot kills. If they approached Soo Hyuk, then all he had to do was throw a spell. Nonstopping, Soo Hyuk left the orc’s territory. He knew this because he saw werewolves.

‘Is six groups all it takes?’

Soo Hyuk thought as he approached the werewolves.

He cleared six groups of goblins then he entered the orc’s territory. He then hunted six groups of orcs, and now he was in the werewolves’ territory.

‘I can test it out here.’

– It’s a human!

The only werewolf in its human form yelled.

-Owoooo!

-Owoooooo!

At the yell, the other werewolves howled and began to transform into their human form.

“Poison Chain.”

There was no reason to wait for their transformation to end. Soo Hyuk cast Poison Chain on one of the werewolves that were transforming.

That werewolf was in the middle of transforming, so he couldn’t move and got hit by the chain. The chain then spread out to the other werewolves.
